emmasoft: Why worry yourself when life is made easy. Click the 2nd link on my signature and open your mmf account, within 24hrs your details will be sent, thereafter you can download the app. This is a better process. I just remembered I’ve registered my account with your link since May. I’ve logged in with the credentials. But I still can’t understand the interface. I can’t see mutual funds in the list of investments. I downloaded the app, Norreworld, I’m seeing mutual funds but no rate associated with it. |

seunpinky: This is a delicate situation and should be treated with utmost care.
Let’s break it down from my experience and some online research: Point 1: What she did during her study permit application is technically wrong but context matters.
On her study permit / PGD application, she declared BSc as her highest qualification while she already held a Master’s and was pursuing a PhD. That is considered misrepresentation by omission, because IRCC expects applicants to disclose all completed post-secondary education, even if they choose to apply based on a lower credential.
It was done to justify academic progression and cost, not to inflate CRS points. Many people do this without understanding IRCC’s strict disclosure rules.
Point 2:
Will IRCC find out? Yes, most times the ircc officials can automatically link her previous study permit application as they have her UCI no, biometrics and other key information.
Point 3: Next steps for the purpose of express entry, she has to declare her PhD fully and correctly in Express Entry. She must list: • BSc • Master’s • PhD all With accurate dates and documents. And most importantly Include a Letter of Explanation (LOE) proactively The LOE should: • Acknowledge the discrepancy • Explain the rationale clearly • Show there was no intent to mislead for immigration benefit • Emphasize transparency now
Point 4: Is she at risk of a 5-year ban?
Low risk IF she discloses properly now.
Misrepresentation findings usually occur when: • The inconsistency is discovered by IRCC first • There is no explanation • Or the applicant continues to conceal facts Proactive disclosure significantly reduces risk. Thank you for your detailed explanation. Maybe I should just tell her not to venture |

chimzyblack: She better just continue in the path of Bsc being her highest qualification before the PGD else she will not only be refused she will also be banned and removed from Canada for 5 years. So better continue in that path. 🥹🥹 |

Profgordons: I believe she already know the answer. No need to try anything else other than to stick to what is already on records else otilo. She made a huge mistake from the beginning, having a PhD doesn’t mean you can’t pursue other interests. My spouse is a Medical Doctor but applied for a diploma and was granted study visa then. Omo |

My sister applied for for PGD in Canada PGD school and declared that bsc is her highest certification. Actually, she already did her masters and was even doing her PhD. She applied for pgd school because it was much cheaper and using bsc, she felt it would be much better. Now she’s done with her PhD and wants to apply for express entry. She’s worried because if she input her highest academic records which is phd, they might see it that she lied in her first application.
Please what can she do? |

freeman67: To my understanding true yield is the complete return on investment. Yes, TB interest is paid upfront. However, if you are are not in urgent need of that money, you may still reinvest. Meaning there is an option of reinvestment of interest with some bank while investing and if you do that, you will get the true yield on that investment.
You did not include the amount and tenure you are looking to invest even with that picture but let's say you intend to invest the sum of N100,000 for 364 days.
In my layman's calculation that will be 100,000÷100x 19.5600 = N19,560. Meaning at current stop rate of 19.5600% your interest on 100k for 364 days is 19,560 which will be paid upfront barring commissions and charges. Then your 100k will be paid back to you at the end of the tenure.
However, if you decide to ask them to now reinvest your principal with interest now, meaning instead of paying you upfront you decide that you want to collect it at maturity, that 19,560 will still yield something. That's the true yield. Thank you.. this is much better |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by KingCassy(m): 2:36pm On May 26, 2025 |
Odunharry: enque is correct. Rate is 19.5 except the person is saying yield which is 24.3%. You will get it if you re-invest or opt in for interest at maturity Also, ensure you invest with a bank or licensed investment company.
Regards, Yield? Now I’m more confused…. What’s the difference.. and I thought Tbills interest is payed upfront, do they have option for interest at maturity. Please in simple terms.. with this picture I posted below, how much will I be paid if I invest in primary auction of TB

vanvickie: If you an open an account with stanbic IBTC... It'll be good. They have the best rates for both primary and secondary market (as much as I can tell) and the best thing about stanbic is they have a link u can use to access tbills auction (both primary and secondary market) from the comfort of ur home, also... U can do primary market tbills for less than 50m as against some banks that insist on 50m threshold for primary market.
And yes, I've done all these with them, so it's not hearsay.
PS: I don't work with stanbic nor am I affiliated to them. I'm just a satisfied customer. I sent you a dm bro |

You can participate in primary auction theough your bank Someone told me the primary auction rate is 24% while you’re saying 19.5.. now I’m more confused. Omo my banks don’t want to give me much information. They’re insisting I go for secondary. Is there any bank or investment institution that can help with the primary auctioning when next it’s to happen |
