Polytechnics in Nigeria is on strike for past 1 month or more. I'm a student of Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku (DSPG). I have been calling/chatting with my schoolmates to know how far but they told me that they don't hear any news about the strike. I asked my friend, he is a student of Federal Polytechnic Oko (still at home) but he told me that he doesn't hear any news about that too. I don't even see a news concerning this on the internet or here on Nairaland, I only found this thread => https://www.nairaland.com/1289831/fg-reaction-asup-strike-polytechnics but it seems not updated or maybe they need to tag it on the frontpage (again) ? (i'm now thinking that government is not aware of this so called strike). This thing bothers me alot cos I don stay @home tire. I just finished my first semester exams and needs to continue my second semester. This is why I created this thread, any idea based-on this ? |
https://smartphonenation.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/bb-tour-user-guide.png According to WIKIPEDIA "A user guide or user's guide , also commonly known as a manual , is a technical communication document intended to give assistance to people using a particular system." Give assistance to people? Aaahh, I don't bother reading it ö. Its like a waste of time to me, I just go ahead operating my new device (phone, dvd, tv set, etc) ANYHOW until I learn it. I don't care if I spoils it. What about you? Do you like reading USER GUIDE "MANUAL"? |
This will definitely make front page.
don't know why? |

Happy Sunday to you all. There are many reasons why a person sleeps in the church : 1 tiredness 2 bored 3 just ave no respect for God 4 bad habit -That explains alot? I hope you took time to goto church today. Going to church is not enough. You need to understand the basic essence of communicating with your maker and giving him your time. https://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/45776000/jpg/_45776856_466.jpg I was flabbergasted to see and hear a person deep asleep and snoring in church. The church was lively, music, preaching, prayers and all yet this person slept as if its the only thing he was born to do. I wonder whether he got his spiritual nourishment. To avoid the above mentioned bad habits of sleeping in church i always do the following:- 1. BIBLE - I always carry the bible. it keeps me busy while meditating on the message. 2. NOTEBOOK(jotter) - carry a notebook and scribble notes of bible reading for future reference. i also write summarized notes about the sermon. 3. CONSISTENCY IN CHURCH GOING - since Sunday school i have always been a consistent church goer. this makes it easy to fit in church. 4. PRAYERS - I always make worship my main priority. 5. STAYING IN THE FRONT SEAT - Staying in the front seat will make you to be active in the church (imagine staying in the front seat) . If you stood at the back you may feel bored. what about you. what do you do to spice up your Sunday church service? *Have a blessed week! |

There are many jobs that you can earn enough money but are (very) risky; jobs like jail/prison guard, electrical powerline worker (NEPA) works on electric (live) wires on an almost daily basis, Commercial Fisherman, House roofer (imagine roofing 8 to 10 storey building), Aircraft Pilot, the police, army and other emergency services deal with the front line situations, and undoubtedly face dangers every day in their professions. What do you think about this jobs? |

10. When filling out your driver's license application you give your IP address. 9. You no longer ask prospective dates what their sign is, instead your line is "Hi, what's your URL?" 8. Instead of calling you to dinner, your spouse sends e- mail. 7. You're amazed to find out spam is a food. 6. You "ping" people to see if they're awake, "finger" them to find out how they are, and "AYT" them to make sure they're listening to you. 5. You search the Net endlessly hoping to win every silly free T- shirt contest. 4. You introduce your wife as "my lady@home.wife" and refer to your children as "client applications". 3. At social functions you introduce your husband as "my domain server". 2. After winning the office super bowl pool you blurt out, "I feel so colon-right parentheses!" And the number one sign you are an Internet Geek: 1. You have atleast 1 website |
How do you feel when you meet anyone combining english with his/her native language? This is becoming common here in NIGERIA. When some people are talking, you sometimes can't understand them because they combines two or more languages together thereby irritating your (listener's) ear. Sometimes, this can help some people (i.e those that can understands both/combines languages) comprehend or express themself good. For me I don't like such things cos it simply tells me that you don't know your language or a particular language good. I know this exists in every tribes/languages in nigeria but lets use igbo as an example :~ Someone will say "ódikwà very risky", my question is; the above sentence is it igbo or english? One igbo word and two english words; assuming you don't know both languages good how could you be able to understand this sentence? I know that no language is complete but lets try and keep our language(s) natural and also our culture. No long story; whats your point of view ? |

Look out for deals that are too good to be true. Not all fakes sell at lower prices than their genuine counterpart, but an unreal bargain is one of the surest signs of an un-real product. This products prints on (almost) every parts of it "original" so beware of this. Beware products that seem flimsy or are obviously poorly made. Quality control is often absent in counterfeiting operations, so you may be able to spot a counterfeit simply based on its workmanship. Of course, even if it isn't a counterfeit, do you really want a poorly- made product? Inspect the packaging carefully. Reputable businesses typically take great care in packaging their products. Beware flimsy packaging, packaging with substandard printing or running colors, or packages that appear to have been opened. In addition, take a moment to actually read the package. Spelling or grammatical errors are common on the packaging for counterfeit goods. For example, "NOKIA" as "NOKLA" and "Association" as "Assoxiation". Check for some vital information prints Most product labels and boxes these days have a whole host of information printed on them, from bar codes to trademark and patent information to recycling symbols. Counterfeiters often don't want to spend the time to reproduce every detail, so they'll likely leave some of this stuff off. Look for manufacturer contact information. Most reputable companies will provide a phone number or at least an address at which consumers can call them. Look for certification. Drug or food products in NIGERIA has a label (NAFDAC) number so check for it on such product. Make sure everything that should be there is there. Counterfeit products often don't include supplementary materials such an owner's manual or a product registration card. Sometimes they don't even include all the parts that should come with the product, or some parts will be from a different manufacturer. Check the manufacturer's website. Many large companies now have information on their websites to alert customers to possible counterfeit products and to help them detect fakes. Every time PROMO Some people are used to buying this kinda of product (AWUUF) "Buy 1 Take 1". Stop buying this kinda product or before you buy this kinda product first of all think of it. ¤¤¤TIP¤¤¤ China is the source of most counterfeit products. Of course many, many legitimately produced products are also made in China, but a "Made in China" sticker on an already suspicious product is a red flag. You should also be suspicious if no country of origin is listed on either the packaging or the product itself. Counterfeiting mobile charger will sometimes remove a "Made in China" sticker when importing fake products, and producers of counterfeits will sometimes simply leave off the country of origin designation. |
Afam4eva: I'll like to know people's answer to this question cos my name is Junior too and that's what people at home call me. lolthis is a tough question . I still dey figure ma answer |
First of all do not mind my grammar, just understand the concept thats all. Some Parents of this modern time call their kid(s) "junior" as a pet name but as time goes-on the (pet) name over-ride the child's real name. No doubt this name is kinda sweet (especially the person that bears the name). Why i'm saying this is that my friend still bears this name "junior" not minding that the guy is getting close to his "university or polytechnic" graduation. I myself still call him the name (cos i don't know his real name) and i don't know how he feels anytime I call him this name (especially in the public) My question is; Is this name has an after-effect ? Any experience ? |

Do you like hot tea or cold tea? I personally like cold/cool tea. It started when i was in (boarding school) secondary school and till now i like it not minding the weather (cool or hot weather). This made me to conduct a kind of survey to know if there are people like me. Which is your favourite or choice? |
Nokia or no phone. No phone is popular and cheaper than nokia and yet satisfies our needs. Nokia is best in nigeria. |
It doesn't matter cos when the prophets of Baal was praying to Baal all long but no responds but immediately Elijah called the name of the God fire came down from heaven. Anyway this is what i can say 4 now. It just a matter of faith. "without faith its impossible to please Him"(Heb. 11vs6) |
How can i bring this out on the front page >> https://www.nairaland.com/1305427/biggest-subwoofer-world-pics |
My brother mästúrbates in the same room we live. "My brother and I are currently in a room (I'm 16 and he's 20. When he thinks I'm asleep he will get out his laptop and starts mastùrbätìng on the floor. I pretend to be asleep but he often draws out his mästurbation for a really long time and I find that I can't get back to sleep afterwards. I find it really weird that he feels that this is OK to do. Is it OK to do?? I don't know whether to speak to him about it, "catch" him when he does it again or just put up with it..." |
Royal Device has on its own developped and built in Italy the biggest subwoofer of the world for an AUDIO/VIDEO room that can be also considered as the greatest AUDIO ROOM for private music listening of the world. The Royal Device audio room belongs to Roberto - the audio designer who made it. The audio reproduction is focused on the speakers output capability more than electric power output of the amplifiers with no need of KWatts power supply lines, releasing more than 110 dB/1W/1 meter sensitivity starting from below 10 Hz focused on the listening position. Each horn is driven by 8 x 18" (47 cm) woofers. A total of 16 woofers. Each horn is 9.5 meters long and has a floor mouth area of 2.2 square meters and reproduce starting from 10 Hertz FULL POWER. The real mouth area IS NOT the one on the floor. The real mouth have to be considered together with the side vertical frontal panels. The total horn is calculated onto the listening point considering the side walls and the ceiling loadings. This reduces the floor mouth that is not in open air. The SUBWOOFER efficiency is 120dB/ 1 Watt/1 meter. So the need of external regulation to adapt to the remaining audio system. The total electrical capability of the 16 x 48 cm woofers is about 400 W peak power per woofer that means about 400 x 16 = 6400 W peak total (practically uselss). Each woofer features a 100 mm coil. The real maximum power fed to both subhorn measured with an oscilloscope at the highest musical peak was 6 watts per channel when a pair of tube amps were used to drive the 16 LAuras, while up to date the electric power can reach 60 watts per channel using the 4 x 50watts/ch BLU EYES amps. In this conditions, peak levels are much higher and undistorted than any live concert at all. Walls and ceiling seems to fall down, but fortunately don't. The sound pressure is concentrated at the listening point and stopped by a 2 meters high woolglass anechoic wall on the back of the listening position. We should remember that the total diaphragm surface of the woofers is 2.89 square meters (8.67 square feet) and with the drivers horn loaded (not direct radiating), distortion at 60 watts is practically negligible. If for instance the real maximum rated power (6400 watt) would be used the pressure level would reach 160 dB, but I wonder who could survive. Not even the house built in steel & concrete maybe would stand up. => you can see more pictures from the source=> http://curiousphotos..com/2009/12/biggest-subwoofer-in-world.html?m=1 |
