Just when you think we have seen the end of Tupac’s items being
put up for auction, there is always something else being added to
the auction block.


This time, a never-before-seen nude photo of the late rapper will
be up for grabs.


According to Page Six, the nude photo will be available through
“Gotta Have Rock and Roll” auction house and the bidding will
start off at $15,000

The photo was snapped by one of Tupac’s ex-girlfriends, who has
made the decision to remain anonymous. However, she did provide
details of what happened when the photo was taken.


She said, “This nude photograph of Tupac was taken in 1990 at a
house party in Marin County. Always the showman (and jokester!)
Tupac would, on occasion, drop his pants when least expected and
catch his friends by surprise.”


She continued, “On this particular night, when my camera was
about to go off taking a group shot, he did it again! I told him I
was going to zoom in if he didn’t move fast and yank his pants
up, but he just grinned at me and didn’t budge. Flash! These
singular photos capture the playful, spontaneous and uninhibited
side of Tupac.”


Aside from the photo, Tupac’s 1996 death certificate will also be
auctioned, with the bidding starting at $5,000.

‘Wo’ crooner Olamide is back with the fourth edition of his concert tagged Olamide Live in Lagos: The Concert.

Following the recent Twitter debate on who the leading dance hall artiste in Africa is; Sound City made a social media poll, listing Stonebwoy, Patoranking , Shatta Wale & Timaya for fans to choose their favourite.

However, this poll came off as an insult to Cynthia Morgan who took to Instagram to call out Sound City for snubbing her. She poured out her displeasure at the poll, in an Instagram post which read;

In an interview with Saturday Beats of The Punch Newspapers, Jaywon addressed the accusation of intellectual property theft leveled against him and X3M Music singer, Simi . Recently, veteran musician, Sir Victor Uwaifo came out to accuse the two singers of pirating his song without his permission.

In the interview, Jaywon admitted that he got the inspiration for his song through Sir Victor Uwaifo’s hit song, ‘Joromi,’ adding that he made efforts to contact the veteran singer officially but his attempt did not yield a result.

He said,
“There is no way I can talk about my hit song, Joromi, without talking about Sir Victor Uwaifo, who we all grew up listening to his music. The whole idea of the song is different from Sir Victor Uwaifo’s but the title reminds anyone of his song. I cannot take away the fact that his song inspired mine. I felt that I should tap into the current beat making rounds in Africa with the song. My song is a love song and I also saw it as an opportunity to promote my artiste, Twist da Fireman, who was also on the song. He added a different sound to the song. I am happy everyone loves the song. I keep working because it is difficult to know the song people would love, so I keep working till I get it right.

“The truth is that I actually wanted to write an official letter to Sir Victor Uwaifo about the issue but when I asked around, I was told that he was not in Lagos. It was just the title and they are not even pronounced the same way. I know what it means to tap into someone’s intellectual property. I would not be that stupid to take someone’s intellectual property without proper authorization from the owner of the song. A lot of people do it but I cannot do such. The instrument I used in my song sounds nothing like what Sir Victor Uwaifo used in his.”

The singer seized the opportunity to apologize to Sir Victor Uwaifo, whom he said he regarded as a father asking him to understand. He mentioned that there were some artistes who had remixed his work without his permission but he chose to look the other way.

“The truth is that I am sorry if he feels that I used his song without his permission. He is our father and I cannot disrespect him. I would be so silly to think of disrespecting someone like Sir Victor Uwaifo, who has been inspiring us since we were kids. In all the interviews that I had granted, I had given him credit for the song but we are talking about the title of the song and not its content. Small Doctor just released a song titled ‘This Year’, am I going to fight him because of the title of the song? Dammy Krane released a song titled ‘Amin’ which is a different version of my song, ‘This Year’; Tim Godfrey released a song titled, ‘This Year’, which is like a proper remix of my song. Dammy Krane and Tim Godfrey took about 60 percent of my song to make theirs. In my own case, we are talking about the title of the song alone, in fact, the titles do not sound the same when you pronounce them. But like I said, I still have to give props to people that deserve it and there is no way I would talk about Joromi without remembering Sir Victor Uwaifo. The reason I did not give due credit to him is that the songs are not the same, they just have similar titles,”

Street pop king, Small Doctor was expected to be among the nominees at the recently held AFRIMA 2017 Awards, especially for his commercially successful song titled “ Penalty .” However, the singer was not nominated and it sparked a major conversation amongst fans.

The singer has now come out to address the issue in his recent interview with Showtime, where he said that being nominated or not at the awards is not a big deal as long as he is still making waves as a musician.

“To be nominated and to be appreciated are two different things; for my picture to be on the banners and to have been invited for the awards is enough, because I appreciate every bit of my life. A fall never keeps me down, though this is not a fall; anything goes, nominated or not nominated I’m balling”, he bragged.

In addition to that, Small Doctor said that he only has to work harder while keeping his eye on the prize.

“Don’t get it twisted, I don’t mean that being nominated and winning awards doesn’t translate to an achievement; but I won’t kill myself because they refused to nominate me. I just have to work harder while keeping my eye on the prize. There are songs that don’t get nominations but they shut down the show when they are performed at awards; and you will be wondering if the organisers were blind during nominations. Well, I can’t judge them and they can’t judge me as well”, he added.

In a recent interview with Punch NG, producer, Spellz revealed that the hit song, Malo, performed by Tiwa Savage and Wizkid , was originally his own. The song is widely believed to be a gift from Tiwa Savage to her husband, Tee Billz following their reconciliation, but Spellz revealed that Tiwa Savage did not have plans to release the song when she did. In the interview, Spellz said;

“I did two songs on Tiwa’s EP. Malo was originally my song that I planned to release this year. So, when we wanted to put out her EP, she needed one more song. I was not in Nigeria at that time and Tiwa was in New York too. It was difficult to work together; so, I said we should add Malo to the EP.

“I saw it as our song since I featured Wizkid and Tiwa on it. And without their efforts, the song wouldn’t be made. I am not the type that holds on to things for too long. Since Tiwa liked the idea, I spoke to Wizkid as well and he liked it too.”


He added that Malo was the last song they did and the last song they put on the EP, but he knew it would make a lasting impact upon its release.

Sir Victor Uwaifo, singer of the 60’s hit song, ‘ Joromi ’ has come out to say that Simi and Jaywon failed to request for his permission before making the different remixes of his song.

In an exclusive chat with Vanguard NG, the one-time Edo State Commissioner for Arts and Culture, revealed that Jaywon and Simi did not obtain copyright permission from him before recording a remix of his hit song, ‘Joromi’.

“They didn’t contact me before doing a remix of Joromi; but I’m like a father to them so I can’t begin to drag them to court, so let them make a living out of it, but at the same time it’s piracy. I’ve heard it too many times on different occasions; it shows the quality of the music that has come a long way. As far as I’m concerned I’ve lived five lives (from one generation to the other), so if they want to appreciate and still appreciate me, it shows the quality of the music. .

It’s one thing to be an artiste and it’s another thing to stay on the scene for a long time; so I will not discourage artistes trying to remix or do another rendition of Joromi, but rather encourage them to give credit to the composer if they do”, he said.

John Obi Mikel has revealed an anonymous agent representing an unnamed club tried to steal a march on his rivals by persuading him to sign with a briefcase full of cash.

The Nigeria midfielder was the subject of strong interest from a host of European powerhouses after impressing for Nigeria at the U17 World Cup, and Mikel has admitted he turned down $70,000 (£53,000).
