Mr 2kay made a statement on the robbery incident in which Burna
Boy has been fingered as the sponsor. Mr 2kay narrated his
experience in the hands of the robbers who carted away some of
his personal effects and left him badly bruised. The singer recounted how Burna Boy had earlier threatened him on social media. Mr 2Kay said after the threat, he reached out to Timaya , who called Burna Boy a few weeks before the attack to make peace; apparently, Timaya’s peace effort did not yield the desired result. Mr. 2Kay revealed that since the police caught the suspects that carried out the attack and named their sponsor, Burna Boy has been calling him to apologise but he wants the truth to come out. He, however, expressed the likelihood of resolving the case out of court.

In recent times, there has been a lot of revelations about the
incident between Wizkid ‘s manager, Sunday Are and Tekno at the
One Africa Music Fest in Dubai. Sunday Are recently granted an
interview in which he hinted that Tekno might have disrespected
him and there was an ‘issue’ which has since been settled. The
respected music professional however stressed that what really
transpired between himself and Tekno is not what is been reported
in the media. The latest revelation on the issue is coming from MMMG boss, Ubi Franklin. The businessman was said to have stopped Tekno’s boys from attacking Sunday Are. In an interview with told Sunday Scoop, Ubi Franklin said, “I was there. Tekno had an issue with Sunday Are and the atmosphere became really tense. The truth is I don’t want to talk about it because we have settled it amicably and we have all moved on. It is a ‘dead’ issue. I don’t want to make it sound like I am the one trying to bring it up again. You know my responsibility is to chase after money.” According to him, it is normal for artistes to fight each other, but they will always settle it in the long run. “If they want to fight, they should fight. When they are done fighting, we will still come together and make money. My work is to make money even while they are fighting,” he added.

Singer, Kiss Daniel recently launched his own label, FLYBOY INC.,
after exiting G-Worldwide. Some of the policies of his old label is
believed to have had negative impact on Kiss Daniel’s relationship
with artistes in the industry, particularly the policy against non-
label collaborations. However, Kiss Daniel would be looking to improve on his relationship with his colleagues in the industry, with the freedom that ensues his own brand. The move to start a label of his own has started to bear fruits as Kiss Daniel is set to collaborate with Wizkid . The Yeba crooner gave a hint on his Instastory, that he is working on a song with Wiz. He shared a short video with a snippet of their collaborative effort playing in the background and the video was tagged FlyBoy X StarBoy. See picture below.

Popular self-acclaimed Instagram prophet and comedian, Wole
Arole, in a chat with Saturday Beats, talked about his signature
beards and what it will take to shave it off. The beard gang member said; “For me to shave my beard, it would cost a lot. Since I am going back into the world of make-believe, I would be featured in several roles and one might include shaving off my beard. But the producer would have to pay me heavily to do that. If they pay me millions of pounds, then I would shave it off. I have been keeping this beard for over three years. I cannot even shave this beard for any woman I love. I cannot shave my beard for my wife. Even my mother plays with my beard. The beard is now a part of me that most of my fans recognise me through the beard.”

It was reported that there was a scuffle between Wizkid ‘s camp
and Tekno at the 2017 One Africa Music Fest in Dubai. It was
said that Wizkid’s manager punched Tekno for disrespecting him.
The news also carried it that Davido heard about the incident and
he reacted by leading his crew to confront Wizkid’s crew, a move
that caused chaos to break out. Until now, the report remained unconfirmed as none of the artistes involved came out to speak on what really transpired at Dubai. However, Wizkid’s manager, Sunday Are recently broke the silence on the incident, in an interview with Punch Newspaper. In the interview, he said that the widely circulated story is false, although he seemed to hint at being disrespected but he stressed that he does not have a problem with Tekno, rather he wishes him well. “Initially I did not want to say anything about the issue I had with Tekno at the One Africa Music Fest because if I speak, the industry would not be happy about what happened. I just want to be silent on the matter because what actually happened was more or less like the quarrel of a father and son in the house. When a father has a problem with his child in a house, that is when the child will do something that is not good, you scold him and it ends there. What people have been reading was not actually what happened. When these young boys in the industry act sometimes, it makes me remember the Yoruba proverb which says, ‘a child can have as many clothes as an elder but he can never have as many rags as the elder.’ Also, what an elderly person sees while seated, a child cannot see it even if he climbs a skyscraper. With all due respect to every artiste in Nigeria both old and young, what happened on that day has never happened before. No artiste in Nigeria has ever disrespected me. Every artiste in this country knows that I am always there for them and I also try my best not to disrespect any one of them. They can all testify to this. I always wish every music artiste the best because I stand for African entertainment. I have always wished them the best including Tekno; my happiness is for him to grow higher than he is today.” he said.

Elder brother of Peter & Paul Okoye, Jude Okoye has reacted the
spew of attention from the political quarters, going the way of
singers, Davido and Wizkid . The renowned video director made a
social media post to question the sudden interest Nigerian
politicians have shown in Wizkid and Davido. Jude Okoye’s snap chat post carries satiric elements, as he suggest that Nigerian politicians are only showing interest in the two music superstars because of the political advantage they hope to get ahead of the 2019 general elections. See his post below.

Believe it or not, any big artiste in the music industry today was
once an upcoming act. In Nigeria context, as an upcoming artiste aiming for stardom, your talent and ability to hit the studio and make good music may not be enough success criteria. Getting signed by any rich and industry influential record label might just be an additional ingredient to becoming a superstar musician. A deep look at Nigeria’s music industry today, a pen in the paper for a record deal with Davido’s (DMW) Davido Music Worldwide or Wizkid’s owned Starboy Label is a pathway to career success for any upcoming artiste. DMW - Davido Music Worldwide This is a record label owned by Davido, signing a record deal with DMW is an automatic membership ticket into Davido’s 30Billion gang . You will not only be entitled to the royalty fee from your musical efforts, you will also be a major beneficiary of Davido‘s periodic show of kindness to his gang members, mostly in form of rolex watch, iPhone x , 30Billion Gang customized Gold Chains and lots more As a DMW act, even if you’re not lucky enough to make hits and you don’t get to blow as expected, living a rich life is sure. STARBOY Entertainment Considering Wizkid ‘s influence both locally and internationally, you might just be rolling like an A-list artiste few days after getting signed to Starboy record. Chilling with world known superstars like Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Drake and the like is a sure bet as a Starboy act and many other goodies attached. A year into Starboy record you might become bigger than many already established Artiste in Nigeria/Africa, such is the case of Mr Eazi, LAX and Maleek Berry.

Celebrities constantly have to add novelties to their appearance
to attract the attention of fans. Some stars change their style
of dressing, others – hairstyle, and some get a noticeable
tattoo. However, this decision must be well thought because it
is not so easy to get rid of that sort of ink on the body. It
becomes your companion for your entire life. From this article,
you will learn about Olamide tattoos. Followers of this talented musician frequently ask: does Olamide have tattoo on his body? He has two of them and each has a profound meaning. They appeared quite recently. You have probably heard that it’s not easy for a person to stop after getting one tattoo. This is indeed so. Maybe soon we will learn about a new Olamide Baddo tattoo. The 1st tattoo While many other celebrities depict their money, cars, girls, and other attributes of their luxury life on their bodies, this musician paid tribute to his Yoruba roots. On his leg is a portrait of Oduduwa who was the first Ooni of Ife-Ife. His name is associated with the oldest Yoruba dynasties because he is the ancestor of many kings who ruled this tribe’s land at different periods of history. Oduduwa posthumously got the status of primordial divinity and is exalted among Yorubas. The 2nd tattoo If our native land is determined at birth, then our hobby and profession is a personal choice. This is the theme of the Olamide’s second tattoo. In early 2017, the rapper inked a picture of the guitar on his right leg, emphasizing his love for the music industry to which he decided to devote his life. Now you know the answer to the question: “Did Olamide draw tattoo?” and you have also learned about the meaning of his tattoos. However, there is still plenty of space on his body. Perhaps he will decorate it with some other profound and beautiful images. In time we will see.

Newly-wedded singer, Banky W took to Instagram to congratulate
Davido on his achievement at the recently organised MOBO
Awards. The EME boss said he is proud of Davido and in his post,
he stressed the importance of Davido and Wizkid to the “Nigerian/
African music movement.” He borrowed from Jay-Z’s wisdom to
urge the two singers to hash out their beef and come together to
achieve more greatness. His post read; “While we are at it, Bigups to another young legend @davidoofficial on his wins.. this talented lad came into the game, never stopped working and never stopped winning. And I’m so proud of him as well. What’s better than one Superstar? Two. Wiz and David are both extremely important to the Naija/African music movement and culture, and I personally HATE it when ppl try to make it seem like you have to choose one or the other. There’s enough room in the sky for all of our stars to fly, so instead of us encouraging a childish, petty narrative that never ends well (remember Pac/Biggie?), we shld encourage all of our acts to be all they can be. I don’t wanna choose. Why should I have to? I want Wiz AND David AND Olamide AND Kiss Daniel AND Tiwa AND Yemi and eeeeevery last one of us who have somehow managed to break through, to remain successful and relevant. I pray the same for all our upcoming talents who are about to make it. After all, no one wins when the family feuds. I’m clear why I’m here.. how about you? #jayzvoice “

One of the Okoye brothers, Paul, was at the Beat 99.9FM office
recently and the singer sat for an interview which had him speak
on the circumstance that led him to start a solo career and what
his fans should expect from him now that he is riding solo. In the interview, Rudeboy said he has resolved to taking everything seriously and has moved on from the drama with his twin brother, Mr P. He said he made the decision on November 1st, 2017, as he prepares for the new year. The singer refused to talk about the issue of his family, he said that he doesn’t want to ‘play politics’ with music and he would prefer to keep his family affair out of the public, including the questions asked of him by fans as regards his brother. Rudeboy however spoke on his previous tweets about their family issues, he blamed in on the tensed situation at that moment and said that he regrets making such comments and asked his fans to forgive him. He added that he is not sure he will be collaborating with his brother as a group on any song again. Speaking on his new projects and future plans, he said he was supposed to bring out a solo album next year, he wasn’t supposed to drop his new singles but he felt he needed something to start his “new year,” which started on November 1st. He mentioned that he has been living in the studio for the past few weeks and his studio time has produced between 90-100 songs, adding that he could drop two albums whenever he wants to, before saying “my eye don open, dey just free lion commot for cage.” One of the show hosts, Maria asked him how he felt when people say he can’t sustain his career alone, he said he laughs it off adding that he is not talking anymore adding that his music will speak for itself. A fan sent in a question, asking if the brothers could make up and get back together and he replied saying “No be me sign paper say I wan commot” He concluded the interview by answering a question on the existing relationship with his elder brother Jude Okoye and he said “there used to be three of us, now there’s two of us; Jude is still my manager.”

It’s been an amazing 2017 so far in the music industry, the hustle seems so tight that some artistes who blew like banger last year (2016) are still struggling to find their feet this year. You know them! Reekado Banks, Kiss Daniel and Mayorkun constitute an integral part of the few young artistes who creatively worked hard to get their names on the radar this 2017. Despite the strong wave of Wizkid , Olamide and Davido this year, these guys still remain champs in their respective lanes irregardless. REEKADO BANKS While his label mates are struggling to make a mark in the industry, Reekado Banks used his good understanding of his fans to his advantage this year. The Mavin star debut 2017 with twin tracks, “ Kiss Me ” and “ Easy Jeje “. Both songs are dope but the “ EASY JEJE ” track worked like a magic rocket for Reekado Banks this year. KISS DANIEL Just when we thought this G-Worldwide star boy has switched trade from music to comedy, Kiss Daniel has shown to fans how much of an entertainer he is. He has become a werey wolf comedian and still as talented as ever. Lol!! Kiss Daniel musical efforts this year started with the release of SOFA in May this year. His ability to blend perfectly a bit of reggae with afro-beat percussion on the song placed him on another level in the industry. Without saying too much, Kiss Daniel‘s second single of the year, YEBA is just a reinforcement of the fact that the best of this boy, Kiss is still yet to come. MAYORKUN Omo iya eleko ain’t sleeping on it! Mayorkun has proven himself to be the best buy for Davido Music Worldwide so far. Just when Davido’s “ If” was still topping charts everywhere, Mayorkun debut 2017 with “SADE “, a song that proved him more worthy of that 2016 Headies, Rookie Of The Year Award. His second single of the year, “ MAMA ” was another smashing hit and now his most recent “Che Che” is enjoying massive airplay. We cannot but give omo iya eleko a resounding round of applause for jobs well done in 2017.

Earlier today, fans of Nigerian actress and celebrity bride, Adesua
Etomi, gave her constant disturbances and ‘heat’ for not adding
her new surname ‘Wellignton’ to her social media profiles. The actress has now added ‘Mrs W’ as they both shared new photos from their wedding.
