I got a call from someone I have known for many years. We are not close though. In fact, I don't think we had ever spoken on the phone before, so it took me some time to recognise his voice. He called because he is seeking loans and grants to expand his business. According to him, all the opportunities he had come across wanted one thing. You guessed right. CAC documents. Unfortunately, his business is not registered. So he asked how long it will take to get his business registered. This is one of the reasons why you need to register your business with CAC, especially if you desire to grow or expand your business. Most business loan applications and many grant opportunities require CAC documents. Your CAC documents show that your business has been formally registered. Don't wait until that big opportunity comes before you start looking for your CAC documents. Let's get your business registered and ready for opportunities. |

Yesterday, a client called me to help him process a Tax ID (TIN) for his friend. During our conversation, he asked if the businesses I registered for him last year were due for Annual Returns. I told him they would be due from January next year. He immediately asked me to remind him so he could pay for both businesses. He said he wants to keep them compliant because he may need bank loans or contracts soon. I was genuinely pleased. Not because of the money, but because he understands the importance of compliance. As a CAC consultant, one issue I have dealt with repeatedly is Annual Returns. I have seen businesses become inactive or get delisted from the CAC portal because of years of non-compliance. Some owners only realise it when they need their documents for a contract or loan. Businesses registered in 2024 are now due for their first Annual Returns. If you have a registered business or company and have not filed your Annual Returns, now is the time to do it. Remember, Annual Returns are not taxes. Annual Returns are filed with CAC, while taxes are paid to the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) or the relevant State Internal Revenue Service. Always at your service. |

A few minutes ago, I was trying to get some old graphics on CAC registration to post on my WhatsApp status. I wanted to post something from early 2024, so I started scrolling through my gallery. Then something caught my attention. The number of old client files and CAC registration jobs I have handled over the years. I just looked at them and thought, “Omo, I have actually registered a lot of businesses.” I suppose don buy mansion for Lekki oo. Lol. Seriously though, it made me realise just how much I have done in the last five years. I have registered hundreds of businesses, companies and NGOs and handled countless Annual Returns filings. Today, I have clients from different parts of Nigeria who trust me with their businesses and their money because, over time, my work has spoken for me. I am honestly grateful. I hope to keep getting better as I continue on this journey. My mantra is still: “Spreading happiness, one client at a time.” 📩👇
