# My_Opinion
Am happy the Roman Catholic Church have
started a
prayer for our country Nigeria.
We want Biafra but take a look at our States in
South
East
* Abia State
If am to define Hell Fire in one word... ABA. I
won't even
wish my enemy to stay there. All the past
governors of
that state have not done anything to improve
that state
yet no protest have been done to curb the
government.
But you want to close ariaria market which is a
source of
livelihood to people just because you want Biafra.
How
many times have you mandated your Governor to
do
well. Abia state ndo.
*Ebonyi State.
I cry for this state. This is a state that lacks
development.
I swear there is a part of ebonyi state that still
dress
naked, am not joking. No industry, no good
network of
roads and no development yet noting has been
doing to
curb the governor. Ndi Biafra
** IMO State
My own state, I cry.. my governor can't even pay
workers their monthly salary. Nothing is working
in the
state, uncompleted projects, abandoned roads
etc. No
notable industry in the state to employ youths yet
nothing has been done to the governor to make
him
work. Ndi Biafra
**Anambra State
By far, the most unclean state in south east. I
think
Onitsha alone has the highest number of
illiterates. You
burnt dangote trailers that carry rice to where?
still south
east, you burn tires on the roads that is not even
good
and you block the bridge for your fellow brothers
to
suffer.
Anambra state, how many times have you
protested to
make your governor live up to expectations??
Now you
want Biafra?
Please let me ask, this protest now what has
been
achieved? the thing no even reach national
assembly. All
you got was a warning from the inspector general
of
police to beware.
*Enugu State
At least for now is the best in south east but
have you
gone to Esut? do you know how much they are
paying
for school fees? what have been done about it?
how
many protest una don go or don't you value
education?.
If you close Ogbete Market for example, do you
know
how many families you have suffered all in the
name of
Biafra.
What baffles me is how a 17year old boy knows
what is
Biafra and is shouting that he wants Biafra.
Who even told you that this thing will end
peacefully
Who will go to war here.? tufiakwa not me.
Check it, if we get this Biafra, who will be our
leaders? is
it not the same corrupt leaders of Igbo land?
Make your research, people shouting for this
Biafra are
mostly
*bus conductors
*barrow pushers
* uwu York (weed smokers) etc
Your governors are quite
your senators are quite
These are people who will motivate us, but they
have
denied Biafra, so na me way never get anything
for life
go die for rubbish. hmmmm I laugh in Mr IBU
voice.

Commercial sex workers in the country under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes, NANP, have thrown their weight behind the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. NANP said it would declare a-three day free sex across the country if president Jonathan eventually loses the seat to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of APC. Recall that the group had in 2013 declared one- week free sex after the Super Eagles defeated Burkina Faso to lift the AFCON trophy after almost 20 years. A statement signed by the group’s General Secretary, Jessica Elvis noted that NANP was not happy with Jonathan’s government over the way commercial sex workers were being treated in the country since he assumed office as the first citizen. It described Jonathan’s government as the worst in the history of Nigeria, saying that it recorded the lowest income during his tenure. The statement also quoted Elvis as saying that several approaches to the presidency to legalize prostitution were turned down. DAILY POST recalls that a female prostitute, Patoo Abraham last year led protests in Lagos to seek a better place for prostitutes in Nigeria. Abraham who heads the Nigerian chapter of African Sex Workers Alliance (ASWA) and the Women of Power Initiative (WOPI), led the protests with demonstrators wearing T-shirts screaming “Sex work is work, we need our rights”. “We are tired of dying in silence; we want to be able to practice our profession with pride like every other person. We want an end to name- calling and stigmatisation. We are sex workers and not asawo [a derogatory Yoruba name for prostitutes]”, She told Aljazeera. “Sex work is normal work and there are sex workers everywhere under one form of disguise or the other. The government should stop criminalising our work”, she further said. Backing Abraham’s point, Elvis said for failing to legalize prostitution, the group would not support Jonathan for a second term. “We sent a proposal to the government in March 2, 2012, almost a year after Jonathan was fully elected as president of Nigeria on the need to legalize prostitution. That was when our late president, Micah Ejoyo was alive, but the presidency rather declared war on us by arresting some members on the street of Abuja. “Most of them are students who are using the job to pursue their education. We all cannot work in Aso Rock, NNPC or Shell. We don’t rob people. We are using our endowment to fend for ourselves. We deserve to be respected. Enough of this hypocrisy because even Jonathan and his team are not saints.” Speaking further, the statement as obtained by DAILY POST on Friday enjoined all members of the association to come out en mass come February 14 to vote out Jonathan from Aso Rock. “We are calling on all our members and every Nigerian in particular to join the march. No to Jonathan! Because under Jonathan’s government, we lost over 400 members in the north to the Boko Haram insurgency and we are not ready to lose anybody again. We would be declaring a three-day free sex if God eventually sends Jonathan out of Aso Rock. You can count on us. We did it before and we can do it again. Enough is enough,” the statement added. http://dailypost.ng/2015/01/09/nigerian-prostitutes-declare-three-days-free-sex-buhari-wins/ |

Sunday June 28th, 2015 Importance of Bank Verification Number on march 12, 2015 at 4:01 am in editorial Facebook Share Twitter Share THE Bank Verification Number, BVN, is another important step the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, is using to strengthen the security of banking transactions and to ensure that fraudulent transactions are minimised, if not totally eliminated. The campaign is on, but the public may not realise its importance until it closes in June 2015. Yet as the public embraces the initiative with enthusiasm, it should be aware that some fraudsters are trying to undermine the exercise by providing seemingly easier registration options for bank account holders. They request these details online and threaten that the account would be closed if the owner does not provide them the details. Their target is the account holder’s money. The best way of enrolling remains direct communication with one’s bank. BVN uses biometric technology to register customers in the financial system. It records these physical features which are unique to individuals – fingerprints and the face. The record would be used to identify the person afterwards. Once a person’s biometrics have been recorded, and BVN issued the account would be accessed through BVN. The major objectives of the initiative are to protect bank customers, reduce fraud and strengthen the Nigerian banking system. Biometric enrolment is helpful to people who cannot read and write. Their finger prints and pictures would serve the same purpose as signatures. Multiple account holders would be covered with a single registration in any of the banks where they have accounts. BVN will help the banking system reduce situations where loan defaulters, for instance, move from one bank to the other and the banks extend new credits to them, without knowing their history. Banks would be able to track transactions across all banks in Nigeria with more ease. As CBN implements the BVN initiative, it has to ensure the security of the data, from rogue bankers and also importantly from damage, as has been the experience with other sectors that engaged in biometric enrolments. It should also create measures to punish banks that might exploit the information they have to blackmail customers with whom they have disagreements. BVN is a great initiative that would reduce illegal banking transactions and improve national financial intelligence gathering. The interests of account holders should be accorded importance so that their increased confidence in the banking system would improve the financial standing of banks. Customers will use banks more when they know that their transactions are safe. BVN offers vast opportunities to protect customers, banks and the entire financial system. The CBN should enhance the security of BVN to protect the entire financial system. It should be on the watch for technologies to keep improving BVN capacities. |
