The above message is the email I received from the embassy. I celebrated the message because when I contacted my friend in canada, he told me that the mail is an indication that my application is successful. On the same date I received another email telling me that my processed passport has been dispatched to the Canadian embassy Abuja. When I got the passport, to my utter surprise, I saw a letter attached saying that I did not meet the requirements and my visa denied consequently.

Hi friends on NL. I have all the major lines in naija MTN, GLO, ETIS, AIRTEL, even VISAPHONE(though, not in us for a while now) just to make on the net calls for cheaper tariff. But the challenge I have always had is in being able to know which network a phone number belongs to, so I can call with a corresponding line esp when I get a missed call. Meet the members of parliament (MPs) who have tabled a bill in the British parliament calling
for the UK to recognise Biafra as an independent country.


An early day parliamentary motion was filed by MPs Tom Elliott and Danny Kinahan of the
Ulster Unionist Party (UPP), ironically a party dedicated to preserving the territorial integrity of
the UK.


The motion is that this “House recognises the calls for the independence of territories that
constituted the Biafran republic.”
“The Biafran issue could be improved with the co-operation of the Nigerian government by
offering a referendum; and urges the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to use its diplomatic
strength to assist in the resolution of this matter.”


Elliott is a former British army officer who served during the conflict in Northern Ireland. He is a
staunch opponent of Irish unification and gay rights and is a former leader of the UUP. He is
married with two children.


Kinahan is a new member of parliament who was elected at the last election in May this year.
Like Elliott, he is a former soldier and is married with four children.

Earlier, senior Labour MP Harriet Harman sent a letter to British foreign minister Phillip
Hammond demanding to know why pro-Biafra activist Nmandi Kanu had been arrested in
Nigeria as Harman represents the constituency where Kanu lives in the UK.


At this point, only Elliott and Kinahan have signed the motion calling for recognition of Biafran
independence.

I have been following the trends here on nairaland. I want to tell us, and u must not believed it. The federal govt of buhari has massively sponsored some people in nairaland and other social media to talk down the spirit of agitation for a free state of Biafra nation state. Just read the trend of resent postings as see how it now seems as if more are against the nation of Biafra, whereas, the reverse is the case. Many owners of blogs and social media site are currently being bribed to help kill the drive for continual agitation. The fed govt is voraciously poised to see to the continued detention of Nnamdi until the Biafrans' spirit of self determination waxes cold. This is the plan of buhari's govt among other things. You can even see how topics are coined against Biafrans. They don't say police kill 9 But say bloodbath as IPoB protests, just one of the examples.

I personally have found out that the Igbos have since long, made-up their mind on not being part of naija. That is what they fought for 1967-1970. The govt is just delaying what they know can only be delayed. Even if another heavier civil war is fought and won against the Biafrans, it will still never end the agitation which will definitely not be an everlasting one. There is a clear and undeniable conviction that Nigeria is not one. The Igbo are too sure of this. See how much tribes fight each other here on nairaland and other social media forums. People know the truth but pretend not to, just for selfish reasons. The Igbos in govt may not join the agitation because they still play roles in the present govt. And this is somewhat a wisdom from them because it's not yet time for them to speak out.
