An unspecified number of persons have been burnt to death in an inferno that erupted after two petrol tankers went up in flames in a checkpoint-induced accident at Omurelu community along the Elele-Owerri Road, Ikwere Local Government Area, Rivers today September 28, Reports.

From The Information Gathered By , The inferno that resulted from the blast was said to have spread in the community, destroying houses, valuable properties and leaving some residents severely injured.

According to reports, the incident happened when one of the tankers conveying the inflammable product was flagged down by a petroleum task force operating in the area.

Eyewitnesses allege that while the task force was trying to 'inspect' the tanker driver, another tanker driver on speed lost control and hit the stationary one at the checkpoint.

The two tankers fell, spilled their contents, and burst into flames.

As i was going through the SoA now, I just discovered a POS transaction (withdrawal) that I never made as I do not use POS at all for fear of scams.

It reads.......

A Google search shows the said company is in Taraba state.

How was the withdrawal even done without my card?
I am so sure my card never leaves me as I'm quite scrupulous about my things.

It happened to me also last year September and I lost #149,600 Naira .

If you bank with Access Bank I want to assure you it's gone. There is nothing you can do about it. They will make sure they frustrate all your efforts.

Till today I didn't recover a dime.

Mine was that I used a POS in a popular Restaurant and Bar in Owerri and I believe the guys there Snapped my ATM front and Back because it was in the night and I was already feeling tipsy from the drinks me and my friend had that night and was in a hurry to go.

I wanted to Use Police and Arrest them but then the bank told me that I don't have any evidence as the money was Withdrawn from an online "POS".

Even the police I reported to charged me 80,000 to help me and I was even more tired..

This happened yesterday morning, I had a flight to catch at the airport by 9 and I left Ibadan past 7 with my Toyota corolla sport. Las las Ibadan traffic dey mild and as I entered that Lagos Ibadan express way oboy Audi mode activated. I was doing around 140 to 150 when I heard a loud bang and gbagbagbagbagbahba. In sub seconds my brain processed that na tyre and if I match break oboy the car go start acrobatic display. Las las I drag gear for neutral and car came to stop after few seconds. Damaged my bumper, sand protector and some part of the rim.


Next time I will make sure I don't go above 100 with a corolla that's if there will be a next time with one.




And the breaking system is just so stupid and all. I wonder how corolla lovers cope

Ahead of the 2023 general election, some elders in the North have said the region will not give up the presidency to the South, insisting that the region will continue to rule Nigeria.

This seems to be a response to the demand by the Southern Governors’ Forum that presidential power must return to the South at the expiry of the eight-year two-term tenure of President Muhamamdu Buhari in 2023, in the spirit of power rotation, equity and fair play.

LEADERSHIP reports that since the return of civil rule in 1999, power has traditional moved between the South and North. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (South) handed over to the late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua (North), who died in office. Dr Good luck Jonathan (South), who was Yar’Adua’s deputy, took the seat until he yielded it to Muhammadu Buhari (North) after the 2015 general election.

On Thursday, the Southern governors had risen from their meeting in Enugu to repeat their call for the president to revert to the South in 2023, just as they threw their weight behind the collection of VAT by state governments, among other resolutions.

However, the spokesperson of one of the groups in the region, the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, yesterday said the North was not for sale and that Northerners are not second-class citizens of Nigeria, as such the region will not accept to play second fiddle when the region has the population to vie for the top political position and win.

Dr. Baba-Ahmed stated this at the weekend at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria while delivering the keynote address at the inaugural edition of Maitama Sule Leadership Lecture Series organised by the students wing of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG).

While urging the students to be proud of who they are as Northerners, he also challenged them not to accept being treated as second-class citizens in their own country.

Speaking about the 2023 general elections and the agitations for power shift to the South, Baba-Ahmed said the heavens will not fall if a northerner is again elected the next president of Nigeria.

He stated further that the North was not for sale and that Northerners will surprise those waiting for them to queue up in 2023 and be given money in exchange for their votes, adding that anyone who does not want a northerner as president should leave the country if one emerges.
