Hello everyone, I need honest opinions please.
In may of 2019, I bought a tokunbo Toyota Camry 2012 and so far, we've enjoyed using the car.
Fast forward 10 months later, the car body doesn't look great anymore. And it's understandable because my wife drives it to work everyday, and this our axis is filled with crazy drivers. (If you k is mararaba nyanya traffic!)
The car has scratches and bumps all over and the paint looks to be fading and I'm seriously considering doing a respray.
However from what I've read on Nairaland and heard around, a respray devalues the car. Is it possible though to get a very good technician that can do a good job of painting in Abuja? I know the factory paint is the best but can one get someone do something really good that will last? Car experts in the house, how much do you think a very good paintjob will cost in Abuja?

If you desire some good paint job be ready to part with up to 150k (speaking from experience).

This includes the use of Sikkens products, washing, bondo filler, oven baking, buffing.

I dont mess around it, heard it could deploy without even an impact if one touches wrong wires or sensors. At least it could be fixed in Nigeria,that puts my mind at rest now.

Guys please help out. I drive a camry 07 XLE. And alls been perfect until today. I tried engaging the reverse gear and it lagged before engaging like 2-3 sec. Tho all other gears are perfect while driving, the delay before engaging the reverse gear has got me worried. Please what could be the problem ? Mileage 115k+ miles.

When was the last time you replaced the transmission fluid?
Have you also scanned the car for error codes?

It's a very risky and highly sensitive task to undertake and it's also expensive to perform. For instance, to fix an airbag in this Honda, a minimum of 50k may not even do everything.

Avoid early models. His best bet will be E350 08/09. Those are gremlin free but maintenance will be expensive than japmobile.

go for the 05/06 unit. Avoid badly maintained units if you're looking for locally used units, if you're looking for Tokumbo, go for clean title or slightly damaged accident units. Avoid flooded or electrical or mechanically faulty units.

Those are 16's right? They won't be hard to find even if they are 15's. Now to the cheaper option, find someone who welds/fixes AC condensers, they will reheat and reshape your alloys eliminating the bumps as much as possible. Won't cost more than 2-3k per wheel.

What car is this?

It's actually a very simple fix.

The crash sensor in the front driver side on the chassis rails or beside radiator (depending on configuration of your toyota/lexus) needs to be replaced or if it's wires snapped, it should be fixed properly.

The second code means your steering spiral spring has snapped and would need a replacement with a good well aligned unit.
