Before Sanusi Lamido left the throne of CBN (Central Bank of Nigeria) dollar was stable at around 160. The new CBN governor and the Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy (CME) seem clueless on how to tackle this free fall of our national currency, the Naira. These duo controls the monetary and fiscal instruments of this economy yet they cannot save the naira which has now fallen to its worst in the history of Nigeria. When America predicted that this economy and as it were, the country will go down in 2015 many people thought that the Americans were speaking in tongues. These guys knew the economic coup detat they were going to stage with their Shale oil technology. Like a game of Chess, they knew when they were going to checkmate OPEC so as to force the price of oil down from $115 to $50. They knew that this was going to have adverse effect on a country like Nigeria whose main source of income is oil. Coupled with the do or die politics being practised at this clime, the year 2015 was predicted scientifically to be the year the chicken might come home to roast! Now, every predictions from reliable sources are supposed to be taken seriously so as to avert the dooms day. But did our leaders do anything about it? Starting from the president(GEJ) and his economic wiseacres, nothing concrete was done! Instead, we the Nigerian people have to now grapple with a devalued currency. The implication of this devaluation for a country that is dependent on imports in layman term means HIGHER COST on many goods and services. For an impoverished society with little or no middle class, who is going to be able to afford buying these products? and if products are not sold, salaries would not be paid . . . staff will be laid off (UN-EMPLOYMENT) ... embargo will be placed on employment and the fate of millions who are un-employed or under-employed will be hanging (POVERTY). The Americans saw these coming in an election year that was why they made that prediction. Our leaders are not doing anything about this, shall we continue to fold our hands while the country continue to go down the drain? A call for the removal of the GCBN and the CME should have rented the air by now if it was in a progressive and a no-nonsense country! but we are so docile in Nigeria. We dont follow our government closely to ensure we get value for our money. Resilience is the mother of frustration! Proactiveness is the father of Progress. These virtues are the dividing line between a developing and a developed country. Nigerians! let us be proactive so that we can rescue this nation before we all go down with it! If you want the governor of CBN and the Minister of the Economy to be removed from office asap, please click LIKE and SHARE this lamentations of a concerned Nigerian. |

Point of correction. The late Gbolahan Mudashiru was not an atheist, he was an adherent of the Grail Message. Atheists do not believe in the existence of God. The Grail Message is all about God and His Will. |

All those who stole and kept their monies in foreign accounts are the major beneficiaries of this economic tsunami. $1 Billion was worth N160 Billion some few months back, now it is worth N208 Billion! a net gain of N48 Billion! With the N48 Billion largess, a polithifcian can still buy votes or manipulate INEC to maintain status quo ( his capital and position ) One man benefits and millions suffers! A CHANGE IS NEEDED, unless we all agree that stealing is not corruption. |

Numbers dont tell lies. So, ceteris paribus, looking at the polity of Nigerian and her last Presidental election, one can use the 2011 result and the current political cross carpeting Tsuami that we have hitherto in 2015 to predict the winner of the soon to be conducted Presidential election. The fundamental thing to note is that Presidential elections are always lost or won at the states level. The aggregate result from each state put together then determines who the next C-in-C will be. So, the States are very crucial. In 2011, President Jonathan won in 26 states while the man that came second won in 11 states. Gen. Buhari was the man then and he is still the same man today. A sort of re-match we would say. However, it seems Mathematically speaking the odds are now tilting in the direction of this ubiquitous challenger, a veteran in the game (4th record contesting attempts), Gen.Buhari. As at 2015, His new platform (APC) is very formidable as they are able to now secure 10 States from the 26 states that voted for the Champion in 2011. In 2011, Gen. Buhari won in the following states with a less formidable party (CPC):- Katsina , Sokoto, Niger, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Gombe, Borno, Bauchi. In dat election, Dr. Jonathan with the backings of the almighty PDP won in the following states :- Yobe, Rivers, Oyo, Osun, Lagos, Ogun, Nassarawa, Kwara, Imo, Edo ( all these 10 states are now under APC) , Taraba, Plateau, Ondo, Kogi, Enugu, Ekiti, Ebonyi, Delta, Cross River, Benue, Bayelsa, Anambra, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Adamawa and Abuja FCT. So, then in 2011 it was Jonathan ... 26 States and Buhari 11 States. Now, if we take away 10 from 26, Jonathan will have only 16. If we add the 10 states lost by Jonathan to Buhari's 11 it will now be 21 for Buhari. Mathematically, Gen. Buhari as it were, stands a better chance of winning this . Gen. Buhari has in his corner also the following political gladiators who would also ensure that victory is certain. -Bola Tinubu ( Political Ronaldo, Awo of the the South West ) -Olusola Saraki and Rotimi Amaechi ( both former chairmen of Governors forum) - Atiku Abubakar (former V.P and Political heavy weight in the North) - All the governors in APC - Many other heavy weights all around the country. Hence, unless there is a political abracadabra, it will be very difficult for the incumbent to retain his title. Mathematically and Politically, he might loose the throne. President Jonathan has tried, he may have many short comings but he is only human. If he can be gentle manly enough to concede should this forecast come to pass, then his name should be written in GOLD because he would be the first to do so. I wish the two major contenders all the best. LET THERE BE PEACE IN 2015, |
