So many unreasonable comments here. NELFUND is mirrored to, but better than the way students loan in the ''saner climes'' we are quick to reference when things are bad. But Nigerians want to keep the old system where peanuts are paid for university education. A university education cheaper than modrasa or kindergarten can never impart any good knowledge. The old university payment failed to impart any commence on the very people who are stuck on continuing with it. That is exactly what a bad system does. Blinds you to a better alternative.
It is an anormaly to expect a university education to be cheaper than a kindergarten. Expecting to pay the same fee as paid in the 70s to 90s is ridiculous considering our populaton has balooned out and more people seek university education. Do we buy jeans for instance at the same price as in the 70s and 90s? Why insist on freezing university tuition despite a balooning population needing better infrasture, healthcare and security? University education is not a part of the compulsory basic education to attain literacy. It is a choice to acquire university education. We simply desire everything free in Nigeria and yet want the quality of life to be like the so called '' saner climes''. We don't want to pay taxes, we don't want to pay tuition,want free healthcare, we want free transportation but we want a system that runs smoothly. Even God insist we pay praise.
