PoliticsStudents In Rivers State University Walked Out Of Amaechi Her Governor by kipesco(op): 7:36pm On Nov 25, 2014
The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has commended the Nigerian Students, who walked out of a gathering
conveyed by Governor Rotimi Amaechi for unjustifiably castigating President Goodluck Jonathan and for threatening them to support his personal political ambition.

PDP said the incident occurred at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, on Monday.

Jerry Needam, media aide to State Chairman, Felix Obuah noted that the party received the report of the students’ action with contentment, saying it was the appropriate response to the
Governor’s continued disrespect and unwarranted abuses on the nation’s President in which he (Amaechi) superintends over the affairs of a constituent State, as Governor.

While calling on the Rivers State students and indeed all Nigerians not to be deceived or influenced by the revolutionary actions of Amaechi, which exposed his childish and immature attitude, the PDP said the governor’s actions were in pursuit of his selfish Vice
Presidential aspiration on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The Party stated that it was also of the view that rather than listening to the many lies, abusive and treasonable statements from Amaechi, the students should seek explanations from him on
the delayed bursary payment and unpaid Civil Servants’ salaries.

PDP noted with regrets that a Governor, who had failed woefully in offering good governance to the people in the State, was going around talking on issues he had failed to address in the State,
stressing that in addition to the collapsed health and education sectors and the infrastructure in the State, Amaechi had at today sold out most public facilities to his relations and friends.

The Party further urged the students to rise and demand explanations on the state of their bursaries, the position of the monthly salaries of their parents, who work with the State Ministries but remain unaware of their salary table since the
inception of Amaechi’s administration.

Continuing the party said, “All we know is that Governor Amaechi is only using public funds to bribe his way to become Vice President to former military dictator, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) of the APC.
“While we recognize the rights of the Vice Presidential aspirant, Governor Amaechi, to solicit for support under the ambit of the law, we urge him to stop abusing the President, Dr Jonathan, whom the people of the South-South and indeed all Nigerians have confidence in, and are desirous to ensure he continues on his transformation
agenda, which has rekindled the hope of the once depressed people of Nigeria.
“We also believe that if the Governor loves students and the youths he would not hesitate to pay their bursaries as at when due and accurately and will also desist from encouraging them to engage in revolutionary and violent acts capable of terminating their dreams.”
The PDP added that it was wrong for Amaechi to gather the students only to incite them against the Jonathan administration, leaving the myriad of issues unattended to in the state.

It further cautioned the governor against his continued seditious statements and abuses on the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan at every forum he attends.

“Governor Amaechi needs to be civilized and mature in his actions and should stop exposing his youthful exuberance”, the statement concluded.
PoliticsRe: APC Data Centre Not For Cloning Pvcs But For Member Registration – Lai Mohammed by kipesco(m): 6:58pm On Nov 25, 2014
egift:
Here are possible reasons why PDP want to lay their hand on APC membership Data Base:
1. Use it to target those who are APC members and are private about it.
2. Use it in deleting or misrepresenting Voters who are APC members, so that on election day, when you go to your polling unit, there will be irregularities to make it difficult for you to vote.
3. Use the record to search if there are APC members who are still in PDP folds.

Irrespective of the case, PDP is using State and Security apparatus to intimidate and disenfranchise the Opposition party. Jonathan is very desperate. And it is very illegal.
You're assumption.

LIARS! Thunder fire them for trying to mislead/divert our attetion, we are not foolish like them undecided

Let then answer the following questions.

The above position of the Federal Government is not only ludicrous, it is laughable, untenable and a story only fit to be told to the marines. The following rhetoric posers are germane to this issue:

Is it really faster and safer to do an international transaction of such magnitude by ferrying cash across the continent or by a simple wire transfer that can go through in a matter of few minutes or few hours?

If, indeed, the matter involves security issues like the purchase of arms by a foreign government like Nigeria, why was the South African Government not brought into the picture beforehand?

How could the South African Government be sure that the arms were purchased legitimately by the Nigerian government and not by insurgents if they were not officially informed beforehand?

If indeed the manufacturer(s) of such equipment was/were expecting such large amount by cash, why did they not make adequate arrangements with the authorities in South Africa to declare and clearvthe cash on arrival?

Why was money belonging to the Federal Government and meant for purchase of equipment for the Federal Government moved by a private jet and by private individuals and why were they not accompanied by the officials of the Department of State Services or the office of the National Security Adviser in official capacities?

Why would a government that is at the peak of promoting the cashless policy in our economy be the chief breaker of that policy by moving such a large amount by cash?

If, indeed, it was a legitimate transaction of the Federal Government, why were the officials of our embassy in South Africa not on hand to make the entry easier and smoother?

More here www.nairaland.com/1908089/co-k-and-bull-story-fg-smuggled#26391522

And some ignoramus will come here to say GEJ till 2019huh

SMDH
And do you think if the FG was involved in this it would have been exposed.
Common, somebody some where is doing things to shame the FG.
If the FG wants to purchase arms they can easily do so legitimately and will use Boko Haram as a cover.
Do u think Jonathan administration is that stupid?
What does he needs the arms for when PDP Governors are more than APCs.
Somebody is painting Nigeria a black image but does not know it turn back to them soon.
It is no more news GEJ has won so people tryin to tarnish his image will be covered with same.
He left Chad he would had purchased these arms in the name of to fight boko haram.
Think before u analyse and make mockery comments.

Nairaland GeneralTwo Nigerians,one Isreali Arrested In S. A. by kipesco(op): 7:48pm On Sep 15, 2014
Two Nigerians,One Isreali Arrested in S. A.
South African police are investigating two Nigerians and an Israeli citizen who tried to bring $9.3 million in cash into the country illegally.

According to Reuters, there are suspicions that the money could be meant for arms.

The Nigerians, coming from Abuja, were not identified.

The private jet, a Bombardier Challenger 600, had a Nigerian flight crew on board.

It was piloted by Captain Tunde Ojongbede, according to South Africa’s City Press newspaper.

Customs officers had become suspicious when the passengers’ luggage was unloaded and put through the scanners just after 7pm.

The officers then investigated and found three suitcases full of cash.

The passengers apparently told officials they were acting on behalf of the Nigerian intelligence service.

They provided documentation confirming they had come to South Africa to buy weapons.

It is not clear whether the Israeli passenger was an intelligence operative or an arms dealer.

The National Conventional Arms Control Committee, which has to approve the import and export of any weapons as well as issue permits for such transactions, was not aware of any applications in this case.

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) seized the funds at Lanseria airport, northwest of Johannesburg, on September 5.

The funds are being held at the central bank as police investigate, SARS spokeswoman Marika Muller said.

“The passengers’ luggage was searched after Customs officials detected irregularities. The money was detained as it was undisclosed/undeclared and above the prescribed legal limit”, Muller said in a statement.

South Africa’s City Press newspaper reports that bundles of unused $100 bills packed in three suitcase were transported in the small business jet from the Nigerian capital, Abuja. South African airport security spokesman Solomon Makgale confirmed a police investigation was underway but declined to give details.
PoliticsAmaechi Accuses New CP Of Plot To Install PDP Governor In 2015 by kipesco(op): 7:17pm On Sep 15, 2014
Over the weekend the media was awash with reports of a fresh sinister plot to throw Rivers State into avoidable crisis. According to the reports as they concern Rivers State, the new commissioner of police Dan Bature, has been directed by the Presidency to install a certain Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant as governor in the 2015 elections.
The PUNCH and THE NATION went further to reveal that the new Rivers Police Commissioner has been instructed by the Presidency (both papers mentioned the First Lady) to use the former Rivers police commissioner, Joseph Mbu’s draconian style and tactics in causing crisis in Rivers State. He is to tackle Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, his supporters and Rivers people and then install the preferred candidate as governor. THE NATION fingered the Presidency (again, the First Lady) in Bature’s deployment to Rivers State for the purpose of executing this toxic script. While it is easy for a few in the Presidency to dismiss these reports, we in Rivers State, with the benefit of hindsight and our collective recent bitter experience in the hands of former Police Commissioner Joseph Mbu who was also reported to have a similar mandate, cannot. Therefore, we would want to state that: 1. The people of Rivers State will strongly and bravely resist any attempt by anyone or institutions, including The Presidency, to unconstitutionally install the preferred PDP aspirant as Governor of the State, now or in the 2015 election. 2. There is no provision in the Nigerian Constitution and laws for the ‘installation’ of a preferred aspirant as governor of a state by The Presidency. What our laws prescribe is a free and fair election that must be devoid of police and security forces coercion, harassment and intimidation of voters. 3. Rivers voters must be allow to and will freely choose and elect their governor in the 2015 elections. It is their inalienable democratic right that they will not and will never surrender to anyone or institution, including The Presidency. 4. We must warn that the looming danger ahead for our polity and our country is indeed ominous, if this noxious script is acted out. This is an avoidable crisis that must be avoided by all parties mentioned in the reports. 5. Again, we congratulate and welcome the new Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Dan Bature. We expect and hope that he would act professionally and would firmly resist any external influences and pressure to be politically biased and partisan in the discharge of his duties to Rivers people as the police chief. We pray that God and his conscience guide him to do only what is constitutional, lawful, right, just and fair in the policing of Rivers State. We assure Rivers people that we will remain vigilant as we head towards the 2015 elections.
