PoliticsHow God Will Expose Those That Rigged Me Out Of Senate - Akpabio by kirajustice(op): 8:12pm On Jun 09, 2019
@POLITICS NIGERIA

Former Governor of Akwa-Ibom state and Outgoing Senator, Godswill Akpabio has said that God will expose all the people that plotted his loss in the National Assembly Elections a few months ago.

Akpabio, while speaking at Ukana, Essien Udim area of the state, also took a shot at the resident electoral commissioner in the state, Mike Igini, describing him as the "most compromised electoral officer in the state".

He also accused Igini of denying him his 'Mandate'.

“Please nobody should have any headache, nobody should cry because there is no need. You know your senator cannot lose election because we were all there. But many of them thought they can go and write whatever they like and even cancel what you won.

"I have never in my life experienced a resident electoral commissioner like Mike Igini and my message to him is that his hypocrisy will be exposed. There is no way you can come into Akwa Ibom and commit that kind of electoral fraud you committed then you go back to Channels Television and sit down and talk as if you are a pope."

"Very soon the world will know… All the materials we are recovering every day will expose you".Akpabio represented Akwa Ibom north-west district in the 8th Senate.

Politics"Ihedioha Has Not Started 'governing' Imo State" - Rochas Okorocha by kirajustice(op): 7:58pm On Jun 09, 2019
@POLITICS NIGERIA

A Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has said that his Successor, Emeka Ihedioha is yet to start governing the state since taking power. Below is a statement signed by Okorocha's Spokesperson, Samuel Onwuemeodo;"It is important to State and indeed inform the general public that the new Governor of Imo State Chief Emeka Ihedioha has not begun to govern the State as its Chief Executive, looking at his activities and utterances so far, but embarking on oversight functions as if he is still at the National Assembly where he was, uninterruptedly for 12years.

"He has also been busy setting up series of Committees with at least three Committees a day, and has never done any serious thing or taken any serious step or said any serious thing to show that he has actually taken the seat as the governor of the State. And he also seems not to have cared about asking questions."

"In the course of doing over-sight functions even as governor, he would go to one bad dredging site which he won’t mention where it is, he would send out the photograph just to blackmail his predecessor or he would send out the photograph of one bad toilet they got from somewhere and said it was in the Government House. So petty and unserious all these days.""The former governor left more than one thousand verifiable projects behind for him. He has never cared to visit any of the projects to show that he has come to work and that he means well. If he could be showing the world one bad toilet we knew they got for Owerri Office of the PDP when landmark projects are located at various parts of the State waiting for him to come and see them, and know what to do with them, then he hasn’t come for service.

""The International Cargo Airport is ready and was commissioned by the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Let him visit the place and tell the world what he has seen, and then open it for operations so that the purpose for building such a landmark project can be achieved.""The Ultra-modern Prison Headquarters and the magnificent Police Headquarters also built by his predecessor and commissioned by the Vice-President need his action. He should ask the Police to move to such befitting edifice and the prisons people too. The management of the Skyrun Company his predecessor also brought would like him to come and see what God had used Owelle to do for Imo people."

"The 6 new Universities, four Polytechnics, three Colleges of Education, the 27 general Hospitals, the Ultra-modern Markets built by the former governor including the Malaysia Market at Obowo are all waiting for him to come and see them and know the level Rochas Okorocha had taken the State to, in terms of development and that would enable him to know what to do."

"Showing the world one bad dredging site also caused by the PDP people when they held sway or one bad toilet at the expense of the more than one thousand projects his predecessor left behind does not show good Spirit. He does not need to embark on new projects. He should rather maintain or strengthen the ones on ground, where the need arises."

"The other day, he was showing a bad classroom block at the Holy Ghost College Owerri and he failed or refused to tell his audience that the College is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Owerri. But he could not also show Government College Owerri or Emmanuel College or Akwakuma Girls College or Ikenegbu Girls College or Government Technical College which Owelle Okorocha had rebranded to the admiration of all and sundry. This is not how to be governor. He should not be trying hard to run down the man who handed over to him a brand new State."

"The truth is that what the APC-led government of Rochas Okorocha achieved in eight years, the PDP government even for fifty years cannot achieve one-tenth of such laudable achievements, especially when it takes financial discipline or prudence and vision to do so.""Governor Ihedioha should wake up from his deep slumber and show the people of Imo State that he is their governor and that he has come to build and not to destroy or find fault where none exists."

BusinessEcobank In Trouble Over Loss To Honeywell In Landmark Court Case by kirajustice(op): 7:47pm On Jun 01, 2019
@POLITICS NIGERIA

The Honeywell Group Friday, emerged victorious in its protracted legal dispute with Ecobank Nigeria Limited, with the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court, Lagos in which the court held that Honeywell’s payment of N3.5 Billion between 2013 and 2014 constitutes the full and final settlement of its indebtedness to Ecobank.

Trial judge, Justice Olayinka Faji, in his judgment held that there was a valid agreement reached at various meetings between representatives of Honeywell and Ecobank on July 22, 2013 and in line with the agreement, Honeywell made payments to the bank in order to settle its indebtedness.However, the same could not be said of Ecobank which rather than keep to the terms of the agreement, sought to introduce new terms. The court held that all through the course of the instalment payments being made by Honeywell, Ecobank did not at any time raise any objections to the payments.

The court held that the amount now being claimed by the bank was not at any time mentioned in the meetings or series of correspondence with Honeywell. Meanwhile, Ecobank has said it will appeal the judgment of the court, saying it strongly disagrees with the decision of the court. It will be recalled that Anchorage Leisures Ltd, Honeywell Flour Mills Plc., and Siloam Global Limited (all members of the Honeywell Group), in August 2015, instituted a suit before the court in Lagos seeking the determination of whether or not the companies are truly indebted to the bank following the payment of the sum of N3.5 billion as full and final settlement of their obligations to Ecobank, based on a mutual agreement between Honeywell and Ecobank.Testifying in the course the trial, Honeywell Group’s Head of Treasury and Finance, Oluwakemi Owasanoye told the court that by an agreement reached at a meeting held on July 22, 2013, the bank agreed to merge the collective indebtedness of Honeywell’s three subsidiaries, which amounted to N3.5billion.

Owasanoye added that part of the agreement reached with the bank was that N500million must be paid immediately, while the balance of N3billion would be paid before the exit of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN examiners from the bank. According to her testimony, Honeywell complied with the terms of the agreement, and thereafter, wrote to inform the bank of its compliance and the need for the bank to formally discharge the company of any further obligation. She stated that the bank in its reply to the letter did not raise any objections.Honeywell, she said, was, however, surprised when the bank proceeded to demand for further payments in respect of the debt which had been fully liquidated for over a year. She stated in her testimony that when the dispute arose, the Company referred the matter to the Bankers’ Committee which resolved the matter in favour of Honeywell.

In his testimony, Ecobank witness, Mr Elemi Agbor, Head of Corporate Communications of the bank, while being cross-examined by Honeywell’s lawyer, Mr Olabode Olanipekun, SAN, insisting that the agreement for the payment was for a two-term payment only. He said the agreement stipulates that N500m must be paid that same day and the balance later.He was, however, unable to substantiate his assertion before the court. Meanwhile, Ecobank while the reaction to the judgment, said it was to appeal the judgement delivered by the Lagos Federal High Court, on the protracted N5.5 billion legal suit between Honeywell and Ecobank.

It said was will fully prosecute the appeal as it strongly disagrees with the decision of the court. It said, “It will appeal the judgment as same did not take into consideration salient facts put before the court. In the view of Ecobank, a debtor should be made to pay its full debt having failed to pay as and when agreed.” A spokesperson for the bank said that the company will pursue recovery of the debts owed by the Honeywell companies to the logical conclusion through the courts, as a return of depositors’ funds is key to ensuring the sanctity of agreements and viability of continued support and growth of local businesses by Banks.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi on Wednesday jokingly thanked President Buhari for not converting him to Islam, saying he has been attacked severally for associating with a President who many assumed was planning to Islamize Nigeria.Amaechi said this at the valedictory Federal Executive Council meeting at the State House Abuja yesterday Wednesday, May 22nd.The former Rivers state governor narrated how he was almost chased out of Christ the King Catholic Church in 2014 for supporting the president, who they alleged was trying to Islamise the country.“Mr President, let me thank you for not converting me to Islam.

I say that specifically because in 2014 when I walked into Christ the King Catholic Church, I was literally chased out of the church as a governor because I was accused of supporting a man whose agenda was to Islamise Nigeria.

He added that in Rivers state, they began to call me `Alhaji Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi’. I thank you because they have dropped the `Alhaji’ and back to Mr Chibuike Amaechi,’’ he said.

HealthNigerian Doctor Saves ‘dying Man’ On Azman Airline Flight [PHOTOS] by kirajustice(op): 12:49pm On May 26, 2019
@POLITICS NIGERIA

A Nigerian Doctor by the name of James King is being praised by Several people online for saving the life of a dying passenger onboard an Azman airlines flight.

Politics Nigeria learned that Dr. King bravely saved the life of the yet-to-be-identified passenger who collapsed on the flight from Kano to Lagos on Saturday, May 25th. Narrating the incident, Dr. King stated;

“Its getting clearer now, …why I was born.

I just saved a life who would have possibly died midair in the aircraft I was a passenger in.

I was on seat 14F of BOEING 737-300 of AZMAN AIR from Kano to Lagos.

Suddenly, his head dropped.

A passenger on seat to my far left on the other side of the aisle.

The Indian man sitting besides him screamed and called the attention of the air officials.

The Indian said it seems the man passed out.

We were still several miles above sea level.

Far from Lagos our destination.

As it is with my nature, I was listening to some music with my earpiece on board this flight. I was rocking myself head forward and backward, my hands slightly moving up to the powerful music of SHOW US MERCY by Will Adiks.

The movements to the unconscious passenger got my attention.

I removed my earpiece.

In 5 powerful long strides I got to the dying patient.

To the Air Hostesses, “I am Dr James King. I want to take over. He is deteriorating fast.”

The Air Hostess said, “Ok sir. Go ahead.”

And she gave me way.

I quickly checked his pulse around his radial artery. It was small volume, irregularly irregular rhythm.

I shouted, “Any doctor, nurse or paramedic here?”

No response.

All the other passengers on board were staring at me with a forlorn look.

As if there was an impending danger to all of them.

I turned to the immaculately dressed 3 Air Hostess around me. “We can save this life together. His life depends on us now.”

I turned to one of the hostesses, “Can you please get us all the medical boxes and kits in this aircraft”

She responded, “Ok sir” and walked fast away.

I asked two other male passengers to help me lift the dying man from his seat to the aisle between the airfraft seats, …so I can have more space to start my intervention on him.

We placed him on the ground.

I immediate positioned him supine and also freed his respiratory airways by tilting his head backwards a bit.

I again asked, “please can I have any cloth or anything to support his neck.”

The air hostesses removed their top suits and handed them to me.

I was encouraged.

I folded two of them and placed them under the neck the of dying man.

At this point the dying man was already having rolling up eyes, …all white.

I listened to his apex heart beat.

It was very weak and faint.

I knew in seconds, he would be dead if I don’t do something fast.

I commenced CPR (Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) on him.

He responded.

Then he began to convulse uncontrollably.

At the top of my voice, I shouted “Can someone get me Diazepam please?”

An air hostess ran somewhere to get it.

It was 30 minutes before landing.

If nothing was done fast he will die in less than 10mimutes.

I repeated CPR again.

And again. And again….

I listened to the heart using my stethoscope.

Some mild activity commenced.

I turned to the chief air Hostess, please call Murtala Mohammed Airport and tell then to arrange an Ambulance before our landing.”

She said, “Right away” and began to rush toward the cockpit to inform the Pilot to do so.

When I was sure the patient’s ventilation improved a bit, I quickly withdraw 5mg of Diazepam and gave him straight intramuscular on his buttocks.

Returned to the supine position again.

Commenced CPR.

Checked his radial pulse.

I then announced to everyone that… “I AM buying time. He will survive.”

I was on the floor of the aircraft kneeling around him.

Monitoring every single thing I can pick from his reflexes.

The chief air hostess came back.

I asked her, “How many minutes do we have more to land?”

She said, “in 5 minutes.”

I again announced to everyone on board, “HE will survive.”

Then there was a loud sudden noise in the aircraft.

Then we landed on the runway.

Three men/passengers carried him.

We evacuated him very fast out of the plane.

At the foot of the plane there was no ambulance waiting.

I was visibly angry and now shouting at the top of my voice to all the airport officials.

That the ambulance is at the other side.

In a rage I said to them, “This is wickedness. We did all our best with God’s help to keep this man alive for 30 minutes and you people could not even get an Ambulance to wait here?”

Someone suggested that he should be taken in one of the Toyota Hilux van.

I said “No, it will kill him before we get anywhere”.

I screamed, “Any clinic in the airport?”

That was when their brains came back to default reset and they chorused, “Yes.”

I said to the good men still carrying him let go.

That was when we rushed him to the clinic you are seeing in the photo of this post.

Its the airport clinic that is close to the Arrivals of the Murtala Mohammmed airport, Lagos.

I explained everything I did and the medications given to the doctor on call.

She took over.

Then I walked out and looked up to heaven and said, “I know You are involved in this. Thank you Lord.”

Addendum:
I actually came to Lagos for a humanitarian programme, an absolutely FREE Medical outreach that is poorly funded meant for the sick and abandoned Prison inmates at Kirikiri Prison.

We are all born to save lives.”

BusinessFraud In Corporate Nigeria: Union Bank As A Case Study by kirajustice(op): 2:50pm On May 22, 2019
I have closely Observed that in Recent times, Banking Institutions in Nigeria have been involved in sort of Fraud or the Other, From First Bank to Access to Polaris but one that struck my attention was the number of Fraud cases(Insider fraud) at Union Bank.

Upon research, Several articles online reveal that some management and staff of Union Bank have consistently defrauded millions of Naira belonging to their own depositors. The internet is filled with stories of staff of the more than 100-year-old financial institution being involved in different kinds of fraud ranging from alleged gross ethical violation, brazen theft, and many more financial malpractices.

To back up these observations, here are a few reports published in the past of such incidents involving the management and staff of the bank, culled from various media outlets across Nigeria;

1. N8.8 MILLION FRAUD BY SALLY DAGUN:

Mrs. Dagun, the wife of a pastor and staff of Union Bank, stole the sum of N8.8Million from one Mr. Mansur RIMI, a customer of Union Bank in Abuja. According Mr. Mansur, he discovered his money was missing from his account with Union bank, he immediately summoned Mrs. Dagun, his account officer, over.

During the interrogation, Mrs. Dagun, who later got to discover that his invitation was in connection with the missing fund, decided to confess, saying that she has been stealing his money since September, 2017, adding that the total amount she withdrew from Mr. Mansur’s account from last year till date is N8.8Million.

It was also gathered that Mrs. Dagun, apart from being the Relationship Manager at Union Bank, Dede, she is happily married to a pastor of an undisclosed church, having three kids with him.

2. UNION BANK EMPLOYEE HELD FOR N8.6 MILLION FRAUD

A former banker with the Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Mr. Kazeem Alli, was remanded in prison custody by Justice Chuka Obiozor of the Federal High Court, Lagos in October 2018 over alleged conspiracy, impersonation and internet fraud amounting to N8.7 million.

Alli was arraigned before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Alli, according to the EFCC, had on May 8, 2018, while still working as a staff of the bank, failed to obtain proper data of a bank customer in processing Unionmobile in respect to Account No. 0010807900.

The accused is also alleged to have impersonated one Alexander Cherembem Okan and fraudulently withdrew the sum of N8. 677, 907.00 million from the said account No. 0010807900.

3. UNION BANK STAFF DEFRAUDS CUSTOMER OF N116 million

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, December 19, arraigned the duo of Temitope Oluwasanmi and Augustine Olayinka before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja on a seven-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and fraudulent diversion of funds to the tune of N116m.

The first defendant, Temitope Oluwasanmi, an employee of Union Bank of Nigeria (UBN) Plc, was arrested by operatives of the EFCC sometime in October 2017, following a petition received by the Commission from the bank.

Oluwasanmi is alleged to have diverted the sum of N116 million to the savings accounts of three individuals, who are said to be his friends: Augustine Olayinka (account no.: 0050657770), Oginni Opeyemi ( account no.:0046585982) and Ogbaro Oluwaseyi (account no.: 0061074951).

4. UNION BANK HEAD OF OPERATIONS INVOLVED IN N450 MILLION FRAUD (JAILED)

A former Head of Operations at the Head Office of Union Bank Plc in Marina, Lagos, Mr Paul Onwughalu, was sentenced to three years imprisonment for his involvement in fraud to the tune of N450 million.

Mr Onwughalu was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in February 2014 before Justice S.S. Ogunsanya of the Lagos High Court, Ikeja on a four-count charge bordering on failure to conduct due diligence in financial transactions.

5. TWO UNION BANK MANAGERS ARRESTED FOR N661 MILLION FRAUD (stolen from customer transactions)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two Union Bank of Nigeria managers for allegedly stealing the sum of N661million from the bank.

The commission said in a statement released by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren in Abuja on Tuesday said that the duo of Samuel Obende, a branch Manager and Rabiu Alhasan Dawaki, Head of Operation stole the money in the course of their daily operations.

According to the EFCC, the two managers, who are both serving at a Union Bank in Kano, reportedly abused their positions to perfect the fraud.

The two men who were saddled with the responsibility of evacuating and supplying cash to 17 branches of the bank in Kano, Katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa States, conspired and made away with the said amount without the knowledge of their employers.

6. EMMANUEL NWUDE

Unknownst to most people, One of the Biggest Fraudsters to ever walk the face of the Earth, Emmanuel Nwude, who committed the Third largest Fraud in Banking History, is a Former Director at Union Bank. Nwude is known for defrauding Nelson Sakaguchi, a Director at Brazil's Banco Noroeste based in São Paulo of $242 million, $191 million in cash and the remainder in the form of outstanding interest between 1995 and 1998.

From my investigation, this bank is sort of like a pseudo-haven for fraud because there is a 'pattern', its very disturbing and makes one wonder what the CBN is doing in terms of making sure customers deposits are protected from Banks like this.

PoliticsEFCC Interrogates Mohammed Sani-Omolori National Assembly Clerk, Seizes Passport by kirajustice(op): 7:50pm On May 16, 2019
@POLITICS NIGERIA

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Thursday, grilled the clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Mohammed Sani-Omolori over the legislature’s “finances” and other undisclosed issues.

Politics Nigeria learned that Omolori’s passport was seized after an intense interrogation that lasted over 6 hours. Inside sources reveal that he was also quizzed about the emergence of leaders in the 9th national assembly.

The clerk oversees the election of new leaders in each assembly. The current method for election of principal officers in the two legislative chambers is an open secret, but the All Progressives Congress (APC) which is expected to produce the next crop of leaders is said to be advocating for a different method.

The anti-graft agency asked Sani-Omolori for the records of the financial dealings of the national assembly.

“Sani-Omolori, whose international passport was seized by the anti-graft agency, was said to have duly cooperated with EFCC officers,” the report said.

The agency is reportedly set to also invite the clerks of the senate, house of representatives and their deputies.

BusinessFirst Bank Vs Dispatch Rider: N355 Million Fraud Scandal (Photo) by kirajustice(op): 4:10pm On May 14, 2019
@POLITICS NIGERIA

A dispatch rider at Institutional Banking Group (IBG), a department of First Bank, Iganmu branch working as a contract staff from Sandy Management Consultants LTD may have found himself between the devil and the deep blue sea as he cries out for his dear life after realizing that he might be used as a scapegoat in a case of alleged insider fraud involving some staff of the bank.

According to Humphrey Darlington Omeli, a Dispatch rider who hails from Ezeagu Local Government Area in Enugu State, who formerly resides at 2 Anjorin Close, Market, Okokomiako, Ojo Lagos State, he resumed work as usual on the 25th of September 2013 at about 8:00 am, while he was still having his breakfast with piles of document from previous day’s work waiting to be dispatched, the relationship Manager in-charge of a customer account known as “Olam Nigeria Limited”, Mr Abimbola Jaiyesime summoned him with instruction to quickly dispatch some documents as top priority while he went on to entertain one Mr Mike, A staff of Olam Nigeria Limited that same morning.

According to an online news platform, SecretReporters, amongst the documents from the individuals to be dispatched by Humphrey were, a Risk Assessment document, a Bid document, and four (4) Fund Transfer Instruction forms which originated from Olam Nigeria Limited and endorsed with IBG department’s stamp, signed by Abimbola.

The four (4) forms which were minuted to the Operations Manager to treat were reportedly for the transfer of N355 million Naira to four different corporate accounts and had official signatures properly executed on each of the transfers with the company’s original letter headed papers. In line with procedures, Humphrey made photocopies of all the documents and submitted same to the operations secretary who in turn acknowledged receipt before he set out to dispatch the original documents to its various destinations which included, the head office Marina, Flourmills Apapa, Golden Sugar Tincan First gate, 7up Bottling company Ijora, and finally NBC Iddo when he was quickly called and summoned back to the office by the duo of Abimbola and Mrs Kelechi Ogbueyi who contacted him in quick succession via his mobile phone.

A return to the office at about 2:50 pm saw him been quizzed by Mrs Kelechi on how he came across the dispatch forms, subsequently he was directed to report at the IBG head office where he had to wait till about 6.00pm after he was informed by the secretary, Mrs Felicia that the management was engrossed in a meeting.To his uttermost surprise, Mr Abimbola emerged from the IBG board room and whisked him aside while flooding him with questions concerning the transfer forms.

Mr Abimbola also instructed him to admit submitting the four (4) Fund Transfer Forms in error if he was to be questioned about it by anyone. A demand for an explanation met brick walls as he was told not to ask any question but “Just admit submitting the forms in error and all will be well”. N87M Fund Transfer Instruction forms from Olam Nigeria Limited N88M Fund Transfer Instruction forms from Olam Nigeria Limited N80M Fund Transfer Instruction forms from Olam Nigeria Limited N100M Fund Transfer Instruction forms from Olam Nigeria Limited Sensing danger and a possible attempt to conceal their nefarious act upon him, he insisted to explain the whole fact, an action which did not go down well with a visibly angry Abimbola.

Mrs Mojisola also tried to persuade him to submit to Abimbola’s earlier instructions which he bluntly refused to do, with no questions as to his own side of the story from any ranking staff in the company he was asked to make a written statement at the security department, only then did he realize that a fraud of N355 million was perpetrated with the four (4) transfer forms.According to SecretReporters, he was later smuggled downstairs by one of the security chiefs, Mr Abidemi and thereafter whisked away to the Lion building Police State where he spent the night over an allegation he allegedly knew nothing about.According to the victim, Humphrey Omeli, after being detained for three days in the police station and the alleged continuous refusal by the bank to allow the police carry out a proper investigation on the alleged case, the Investigative Police Officer (IPO) Elegbede requested he contacted his relatives to initiate his bail process.Since one of his relations Mr Cletus Okorie agreed to stand in for his bail but eventually arrived late, the IPO had no other option than to release him while persuading the security personnel who brought him to the station,Mr. Abidemi to sign for his bail bond without charges as there were no justifications for the continued detention.Mr Abidemi went further to plead with the IPO to retain his phones (a Blackberry bold 5 and a Nokia 3310 handset) till the next Monday so that he could come for the phones if there was no matter arising that requires his attention, a request the IPO obliged.However, Mr Abidemi who surprisingly appeared to be part of the coup innocently appealed to him to wait while he informed superiors at the office about the signing of the bail bond to avoid losing his job.

Unaware of the strategic arrangements currently in place against him, a First Bank security van with a spy police officer, armed mobile officer, and Mr Okon all from the security department pulled up. Mr Abidemi requested he joined them in the van to the head office as proof that truly he has been released of which he obliged. Humphrey disclosed that while in the van purportedly en route to the head office, the deliberate threats and severe torture by the First Bank Security personnel who failed to explain to him where they were taking him to when he suspiciously inquired led to a dramatic scene, as his continuous shouting and frantic struggle attracted passers-by who quickly intervened, of note, was one Mr Chuks Ikedigwe who took keen interest in him because of his occasional screaming in his local dialect Igbo.

At this point, sensing that the situation might escalate Mr Abidemi in a bid to conceal his plans, reportedly told the road users who intervened that they were taking him to Ikoyi Police station. At the Ikoyi police station, the police officers who were presumably not aware of the case also allegedly tortured him based on the allegation levelled against him by the First Bank security officials who falsely disclosed to the officers on duty that he allegedly defrauded the bank of 355 million.On 30th September while Humphrey was still in detention at the Ikoyi Police station, a visit by the Relationship Manager in charge of the account of Olam Nigeria limited, Mr. Abimbola who presented the four transfer forms to the new IPO, Mr Bashiru led to the IPO apologizing to the victim for such an act of cruelty and promised to carry out a transparent investigation to unveil the perpetrators of the crime with all the information contained in the forms. On hearing that Mr Abimbola flared up and interrupted the officer by insisting that Humphrey should admit to the crime stating clearly that the IPO should desist from initiating any form of investigation on that case.

To further prove that the victim was innocent going by the books, the new IPO visited the residence of the accused at No. 2 Anjorin Street, Okokomiako, Ojo, searching and ransacking the apartment to ensure he was not having anything incriminating. After a thorough search, the Ikoyi Police station prepared a report exonerating him from any complicity in the alleged fraud.

The police subsequently invited Mr Okon from the first Bank security department who jointly signed the report alongside the IPO. Evidence of the report according to Humphrey is in the possession of the IPO and DPO of the Ikoyi police station.Notwithstanding, on 04/10/2013 he was arraigned at the senior magistrate court II, Tinubu Magistrate Court before Mrs A.T. Omoyele on a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and forgery of which he pleaded not guilty.

The court also went ahead to impose onerous bail terms on him purportedly due to the high amount alleged that he stole. Sadly, it took him till 18th November 2013 to perfect his bail as he was remanded at the Ikoyi prisons till he was able to dispose of his properties just to meet his bail condition.

Speaking in a recent interview, Omeli said; "I spoke with some lawyers and one of them who decided to take up the matter said we should start from pursuing fundamental human rights abuse. He wrote a letter to First Bank requesting for help for me to go to hospital, but they declined.

“After that, we went to court. On February 1, 2016, Justice Animashaun of Igbosere High Court, Lagos ruled and Mr. Abimbola, Mrs Mojisola were held responsible by the court for illegal detention and N17.7million was awarded against them, while N500,000 was awarded against the Police station at Ikoyi. At the end of the day, they refused to pay that money and Abimbola and Mojisola went to the Appeal Court.

"On the 4th of December, 2017, the Appeal Court in Lagos dismissed the appeal with extra N100,000 as cost. When it was dismissed, they refused to pay and sent me notice of appeal to the Supreme Court.

“At this moment, I have been running up and down and I have written a petition to the Legal Aid Council of Ministry of Justice in Lagos. Presently, we are at the Supreme Court for fundamental human rights abuse. Now my lawyer sent a motion for dismissal because they are not doing what they are supposed to do."

Politics Nigeria reached out to the Bank for a comment on the matter. The bank's head of marketing, Mrs. Folake Ani-Mumuney replied that the case was in court.

PoliticsZainab Bulkachuwa: PDP Staff Protest Against Election Tribunal Chairman (PHOTOS) by kirajustice(op): 5:11pm On May 13, 2019
@POLITICS NIGERIA

We, the staffers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), called you here today to intimate you of our collective decisions to once again, join with other Nigerians that voted for our Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to demand for the restoration of our mandate.

Nigerians across board came out enmass on Saturday, February 23, 2019 and voted for the PDP Presidential Candidate, but the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in collaboration with the ruling Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), rigged the election in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari.We will not allow some individuals in the country to hijack the collective will of majority of Nigerians. We know and we are aware that Nigerians are tired of the misrule of the APC and its Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

We are tired with the state of insecurity in the country; we are tired with the poor state of our economy; we are tired with this nepotic government; we are tired with the situation where majority of our citizens are living in IDP camps as if we are in a state of war. Nigerians are tired.We are also aware that the President of the Court of Appeal and Chairperson of the 2019 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, Justice Zainab Ahmed Bulkachuwa is the wife of Ahmed Mohammad Bulkachuwa, the Senator elect on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Bauchi North Senatorial District. This is completely unacceptable.

We therefore fully support the call by the National Working Committee (NWC) of our Party to demand that she recuse herself immediately from the panel.Finally, we call on the judiciary to continue to remain on the side of the people. As the saying goes, the Judiciary is the last hope of the common man. It is therefore imperative on the Nigerian Judiciary to stand up to its statutory responsibility as the final arbiter for any dispute and do what is just in the eyes of the law and in line with the mood of Nigerians.

Chairman, PDP Staff Welfare Committeefor and on behalf of the PDP Staff Welfare Committee

@POLITICSNIGERIA

President Muhammadu Buhari's inauguration for a second term on May 29, 2019, will be a low-key affair, as a number of the events slated for the inauguration will now be held during the first observance of June 12 as the National Democracy Day.The decision to have a low-key inauguration for the President was taken at the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday, 8 May 2019.

However, invitations have been sent to all world leaders to attend the ceremonies marking the observance of the Democracy Day on June 12.

Since the first observance of June 12 as Democracy Day falls into an election year, and as a measure to sustain June 12 as Democracy Day, the celebration of the inauguration and the advancement of democracy in the country will now take place on June 12.The country can ill-afford two major celebrations within a two-week interval. Details of the events slated for the two ceremonies will be unveiled at a world press conference slated for May 20th in Abuja.

Politics'don't Drag Us Into Your Smear Campaign Against Judiciary' -presidency Warns PDP by kirajustice(op): 7:14pm On May 11, 2019
@POLITICSNGR

The Presidency has admonished the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to stop dragging the presidency into their current sponsored media smear campaign against the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.

Reports claiming that an agency of the government, the Department of State Services, DSS has indicted Bulkachuwa of corruption are the latest of this sponsored campaign aimed at causing disaffection between the Executive and the Judiciary, the two arms of government that had operated smoothly under the present dispensation.

While the PDP and its candidates are free to exercise their right to challenge the results of the 2019 presidential election, it is unacceptable to drag the name of the President or other organs of the executive branch into the campaign of character assassination against the President of the Court of Appeal.

The DSS doesn't conduct its duties in the manner so described and you can't use a fake security report to drag the presidency into a smear campaign against the President of the Court of Appeal.

Attacking judges because the outcomes of cases don't favour you and keeping quiet when the verdict is in your favour smacks of insincerity, double standard and mischief. Intimidating and impugning the character of judges in order to force them to bow to blackmail is against the spirit of an independent judiciary.

The PDP praised the verdict of the Osun gubernatorial election tribunal because it favoured them, but they are now singing a different tune because they lost their appeal.

We cannot keep changing the definition of an independent judiciary to suit our political convenience and bias without ultimately creating chaos in the system.

If the PDP continues to blackmail and smear judges with fake news stories, we will ultimately find ourselves dealing with a situation where judges may be afraid to handle cases, thereby creating delays in the dispensation of justice.

If the presidency had any influence on election petition tribunals, APC candidates wouldn't have lost a single case before the courts.

PoliticsRotimi Amaechi’s House ‘Invaded’ By Police (Video) by kirajustice(op): 10:40am On May 11, 2019
@POLITICSNGR

The home of Former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi was reportedly invaded by some policemen recently.

According to a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-South, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the attack was carried out on the orders of the Rivers Statement.

Eze's conclusion, which was contained in a statement sent to PoliticsNGR on Friday, alleged that the Port Harcourt home of the minister was invaded at the behest of the State government on the 8th of May, 2019.

According to him, the attack occurred shortly after Governor Wike boasted in a TV interview that Amaechi has become so unpopular that he can't move around Port Harcourt safely without Security escort and on a day that the Minister was expected to visit Port Harcourt.

He also highlighted that Governor Wike in the said interview stated that the Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State has improved tremendously under his watch but the question the Governor refused to answer is, "what had he achieved with the improved IGR and billions of Naira that accrued to the State through the monthly Federation Account Allocation Committee. The Governor have totally achieved nothing with all the huge funds at his disposal as he allows the State to have the highest number of unemployed youths and unpaid salaries to civil servants and pension to Pensioners all these factors have enhanced insecurity in the State.

The party chieftain had recently, in a statement addressed to Wike, suggested a couple of answers to solving the fearsome peace and security realities in the state, admonishing him to offer 'true leadership' as governor of the state for the period the laws will allow him to be in office and discard all political activities that had hitherto distracted him from being an exemplary leader. Wike had earlier called a truce in the face off between him and the APC in the state.

"I have tried to keep mute on some untoward activities happening in Rivers state to avoid being seen as a clog in the wheel of progress on the current peace moves, aimed at arresting the insecurity currently pervading our dear State but must we continue to keep quiet in a situation that we need to call the Governor to order for the greater future of Rivers State, Eze queries

"In support of the search for peace in Rivers state, I went further to propose a seven-point agenda or strategies that can enable us achieve lasting peace in our state. I am happy to note that Rivers state elders and indigenes in the Diaspora, including those living in and the outside the state, have massively come out to commend me for a well thought out strategy on how to curb insecurity in the state and prayed that His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike, will critically study them, with hopes he will adopt and implement them for the emancipation and development of the state.

"To the glory of God not minding very glaring shortcomings, the Governor, through the Attorney General of the state, dropped the trumped up charge of murder against Hon. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, the APC Chairman in Rivers state, as advised in my list of steps or blueprint to achieving peace in the state.

"Sadly, however, other recommendations, including candid suggestion that the Governor should dismantle his probe panel on some of Amaechi's former commissioners, the Judicial Panel to try Tonye Cole, the APC gubernatorial candidate during the last futile general election and Chidi Lloyd, as well as other APC leaders listed to be tried, seem to have been jettisoned.

"At this point, it will be safe to say if we are canvassing for peace, we should be sincere about it and if we want to nurture the persisting insecurity in the state, let us expressly say so and stop deceiving the general public.

"Sadly the governor has abrogated and relieved himself of his constitutionally assigned role as the Chief Security Officer of the State and the only person empowered to ensure the security of all Nigerians residing in his state by handing same key role to the traditional rulers in state when he summoned them to the Government House and threatened to derobe any of them in whose domain cultist activities are found again.

"This contradicts my position that a Peace/Security/Reconciliation Summit should be convoked to suggest why we are having this type of situation in Rivers state and proffer solutions

"Apart from these steps by the governor, nothing concrete is either done to address some of the strategies I suggested and sadly the governor is still presenting an antagonistic posture against his erstwhile boss and benefactor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. In a recent Channels TV interview, Wike was live on national television criticising and running down the Minister. The icing on the cake of this provocative and aggressive stand of the governor was the attacking of the Minister's house in Port Harcourt. This can't be said to be the best strategy to restore peace in the state.

"I, therefore, call on our elders, statesmen, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to meet to prevail on the governor to see himself as the Governor of Rivers State and not a Governor on self-destructive mission. We must secure Rivers State no matter the odds" he said.

PoliticsDSS Speaks On Indictment Of Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, Election Tribunal Chair by kirajustice(op): 10:06am On May 11, 2019
@POLITICSNGR

The Department of State Security Services, DSS has reacted to reports an alleged 'indictment' of the Chairman of the Presidential Election Tribunal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.

In a statement sent to PoliticsNGR, signed by the Public Relations Chief of the DSS, Mr Peter Afunanya, the agency described the report as 'false'.

"The Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to dissociate itself from a recent publication of the *Authority Newspaper* which claimed that the Chairman of the Presidential Election Tribunal, Justice Zainab BULKACHUWA, was purportedly indicted for bribery and corruption by a certain Secret Memo of the Service."

"Consequently, the DSS categorically states that the said Memo only exists in the imagination of the writers and should be roundly disregarded by the reading public."

"It is unfortunate that the Newspaper followed unethical ways to publish this falsehood. It is rather curious and indeed condemnable that the Newspaper did not reach out to the Service for its comments as would have been expected in a reportage of this nature."

"The Service has, nonetheless, launched a detailed investigation into the controversies surrounding the said publication."

"It is the wish of the Service that it is left out of the manoeuvres of politicians who are hereby advised to abide by the rule of law and respect the entire process of electoral litigations regarding the activities of the tribunal."

"While it (the Service) will continue to collaborate with the media as strategic partners in nation building, it admonishes practitioners to be lawful and professional in the execution of their responsibility."

"However, mischief makers, intent on causing disaffection in the polity are warned to desist from such acts as the full weight of the law will be visited on defaulters."

The DSS remains unwavering in providing the enabling environment for the pursuit of legitimate aspirations by well-meaning and law-abiding members of the populace."
