Pres. Buhari on Saturday marked his 74th birthday anniversary with a special birthday parade and inspection of the Guard of Honour mounted by the Nigerian Army.

The event, which took place at the fore-court of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, witnessed the Inspection of Guard by the president.

The Guard Brigade, headed by the Commander, Brigade of Guards, Musa Yusuf, also performed a Special Birthday Silent Drills, accompanied with special military birthday song in honour of the president.

President Buhari also cut a birthday cake and released 74 pigeons from a cage as part of the activities marking the anniversary.

As a professional actor, do you think your religion should come first?
It’s a rule not to touch, hug, or kiss on set. In fact, religion and culture come first in Kannywood. Basically, we are producing these movies for our Muslim brethren, and it’s against the norms and values of our religion to touch or kiss a lady in a movie, so we must abide by it.

So, you’ve not touched or kissed a woman on set?
Yes, you cannot touch or kiss any woman on set.

But it was rumoured that you kissed an actress on set, how true is this?
It’s a rumour. I didn’t kiss any actress on set.

What are the things you feel should be changed in Kannywood?
There is need to restructure Kannywood. We need discipline among leaders and followers in the industry. The case of Rahama Sadau who was expelled still needs to be understood as a leadership issue. So, you have to respect the leadership of the organisation. In addition, when a leadership is going wrong, there should be advisory council to redirect them.

The Kano State Government recently set up a Censors Board, which suspended many actors for drug addiction and alcoholism; how are you coping with this?
As an actor, it’s dangerous to indulge in illegal acts such as fornication and alcoholism. We are the mirror to the world and therefore should live a life worthy of emulation by our fans.

20-year-old man identified as Kumi Mallam Jayi, is now awaiting trial in court for the alleged murder of his friend , Hassan Adamu, 27.

Jayi allegedly killed his friend on September 10, 2016 by beheading him with his machete. He also cut off one of Adamu’s legs, in an apparent attempt to dismember him and make his body untraceable.

This incident happened at Jato Mariga under Azara Development Area, Nasarawa State.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Abubakar Sadiq Bello, who gave details of the murder said the path that led up to the incident began when Jayi sought the advice of Adamu over his inability to have intercourse with his wife. He was deeply disturbed that three years
after marrying, he had no child to show for it, due largely to his inability to sustain an erection.

Adamu after considering Jayi’s request was said to have offered to help him .

At the headquarters of the police command, where he spoke with Sunday Sun reporter, Jayi recounted the background to the horrific incident.
“I got married to my wife Halima three years ago. We do not have any child. I have tried in many places to get a solution to the problem without success. Then I told my friend, Hassan Adamu my predicament and he promised to assist me. He brought a native concoction, which he said I should always rub on my manhood before having intercourse with my wife.”

Wale Adeniyi who is the spokesman for nigeria custom service pronounced the removal of the ban placed on rice importation earlier today,
He also stated in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the import duty payment at land borders has been reintroduced.

DailyMonitor Reports that , Florence Komuhangi was on Thursday freed by High Court Judge Wilson Masalu Musene who ruled that there was no evidence to prove the accused committed the alleged offence.

The Lagos State police command arrested the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) officer , who shot and killed an undergraduate of a polytechnic in Edo State, Joseph Eidonojie-Ugbeni.


Klannyblog reported that some SARS officers were chasing a suspected Internet fraudster(yahooboy) , who was identified as Badoo,he fled upon sighting the officers at Ogoja Market, along LASU-Igando Road .

The operatives were said to have started shooting sporadically and one of the bullets hit Joseph who had gone to buy a drink with his cousin.
