PoliticsBauchi State Cannot Move Forward By Going Backward by klimkid(op): 4:39pm On May 20
As conversations around the 2027 governorship race begin to gather momentum in Bauchi State, one name that continues to generate reactions is that of former governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar. While everyone has the constitutional right to contest, many APC supporters and stakeholders are asking an important question: why should Bauchi return to a leadership the people already rejected in 2019?

Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar had the opportunity to lead Bauchi State for four years under the APC from 2015 to 2019. At the time, he had all the structures, power, and support needed to convince the people to continue with him, yet Bauchi voters decided otherwise. Elections are not won by excuses; they are won by performance, connection with the people, and public trust.

Today, as he seeks another return, many believe the APC should focus on the future rather than recycling the past. Bauchi is at a critical stage where the party needs a candidate with broader acceptance, stronger credibility, fresh ideas, and the capacity to unite both party members and the general public.

This is why many party faithful continue to point toward Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar as a more prepared and presentable option for the APC. Having served at the national level with maturity and international exposure, Tuggar represents a different image entirely, calm, strategic, experienced, and forward-looking. His decision to step down from his ministerial position to focus on the Bauchi project has further strengthened the belief that he is serious about serving the people.

The APC must understand that 2027 will not be an ordinary election. The people of Bauchi are more politically aware, more vocal, and more interested in competence than ever before. The party cannot afford to make another costly mistake by ignoring public perception and the lessons of the past.

Bauchi deserves fresh leadership, renewed vision, and a candidate that can truly compete, unite the party, and inspire confidence across the state. For many observers, going back to Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar would look less like progress and more like reopening a chapter that the people already closed in 2019.

TV/MoviesTerrestrial Television: A Ticking Time Bomb. by klimkid(op): 9:38pm On Oct 24, 2025
Once upon a time, switching on the TV at 8 p.m. for the NTA Network News or catching your favourite local drama was a family ritual. Today, that ritual is fading fast. Traditional television or terrestrial TV as it’s called is quietly slipping into extinction while streaming platforms are taking over our screens and attention spans.

Platforms like YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime have completely redefined what it means to “watch TV.” The convenience of on-demand viewing has made sitting through rigid programming schedules feel ancient. A growing generation "especially Gen Z's" have never even tuned into most traditional channels. To them, content lives on their phones, not on antennas.

Just today, I watched a movie titled Love in Every Word. The first part was a banger on YouTube, amassing over 20 million views, and when the part two premiered, more than 100,000 people were watching live within the first hour. That’s the kind of real-time engagement traditional TV can only dream of today.

The truth is, terrestrial television isn’t just losing relevance, it’s becoming a ticking time bomb. Unless it reinvents itself for the digital age, it may soon explode into complete irrelevance.

What do you think, can traditional TV still survive in the streaming era, or is it already too late?

TV/MoviesE-money Sponsors Kids Nationwide To Watch Gammy & The Living Things by klimkid(op): 12:37pm On Sep 27, 2025
E-Money has done it again! The billionaire businessman and philanthropist is putting smiles on faces in the most unexpected way, by sponsoring children across Nigeria to watch Gammy & The Living Things, the country’s groundbreaking animated musical film.

This isn’t just about taking kids to the cinema; it’s about giving them their first taste of magic. For many of these children, this is their first-ever time stepping into a cinema hall, eating popcorn, and watching a movie on the big screen.

And what a movie it is! Gammy & The Living Things follows Gammy, a small but ambitious agama lizard with dreams as big as Lagos itself. Voiced by music legend M.I Abaga, Gammy’s journey is filled with laughter, music, and heart featuring other big names like Joke Silva, Pete Edochie, Segun Arinze, Bimbo Akintola, comedian Bovi and many more. The film is more than entertainment; it’s a lesson in courage, ambition, and never giving up on your dreams.

E-Money’s gesture is more than charity, it’s culture building. He’s not just paying for tickets; he’s planting dreams. Just like Gammy left the hinterland to hustle and make it big, these kids are being reminded that they, too, can dream beyond their circumstances.

In a country where not every child has the chance to experience cinema, E-Money’s move is a big deal. It shows that celebrities can give back in meaningful ways, not just with handouts, but by creating moments that inspire a generation.

What do you think about E-Money’s latest move? Is this the kind of influence we want our celebrities to have?

PoliticsDOUBLE IMPACT: Ashimi & Ojomu Emerge Voters' Favourite In Somolu Poll! by klimkid(op): 4:36pm On Jun 24, 2025
In a recent online poll conducted among residents and stakeholders of Somolu Local Government Area ahead of the July 12th general election, the dynamic duo of Ashimi Lateef and Ojomu Taiwo emerged as the most preferred candidates to lead the local government into a new era.

The poll, which sampled opinions across the eight wards in Somolu, showed overwhelming support for the Ashimi-Ojomu ticket, a pairing that many now describe as “Double Impact” for the future of the LGA.

Both men, vibrant and focused leaders in their early 40s, represent a fresh wave of political leadership, a shift toward competence, accessibility, and youth-driven governance. Their combined strengths, experience in grassroots engagement, and shared vision for inclusive development have endeared them to a broad base of constituents.

Ashimi, a tested hand with deep roots in local administration, and Ojomu, whose passion and commitment to the people remain unmatched, have come together not as a compromise but as a coalition of excellence. Together, they present a compelling blueprint for Somolu, one built on unity, service, and sustainable progress.

The overwhelming outcome of the poll sends a clear message: Somolu is ready for a new kind of leadership, one that delivers twice the strength, twice the energy, and twice the results.

Indeed, with Ashimi & Ojomu, Somolu is in safe hands.

PoliticsNURTW Somolu Branch B Endorses Ojomu Taiwo For LGA Chairman. by klimkid(op): 6:47pm On May 06, 2025
The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Somolu Branch B, has officially endorsed Ojomu Taiwo as the next Local Government Chairman of Somolu.

In a powerful declaration of support, members of the union praised Ojomu as a man with the people, someone who has walked with the community long before politics came into the picture. “He has always been there for the people, accessible and dependable,” they said.

They highlighted a remarkable truth: Ojomu Taiwo has never held any political office, neither in the Local Government nor at the State level. He is simply a businessman, yet, he has done far more for the community than many in public office. From empowering the youth to supporting local initiatives, Ojomu’s impact is visible and undeniable.

According to the union, Somolu needs a Chairman who understands the language of the streets, someone who listens, connects, and responds. “Ojomu Taiwo is that person. He’s not just with the people, he is one of us. There’s no better candidate."

They expressed strong optimism that Ojomu will secure the party ticket and go on to lead Somolu with honesty, passion, and a deep sense of responsibility.

With this endorsement, NURTW Somolu Branch B has sent a clear message: leadership isn’t about titles, it’s about impact. And in their eyes, Ojomu Taiwo is already leading by example.

The endorsement was made by the following NURTW Somolu Branch B members:

TV/MoviesThe Uzor Arukwe Effect! by klimkid(op): 3:23pm On Apr 16, 2025
THE UZOR ARUKWE EFFECT

There’s a certain magic that happens when you see Uzor Arukwe on a movie poster. It's almost instinctive, you just know the movie is going to be good. That’s not hype, that’s The Uzor Effect.

In the last two years, Uzor has carved a powerful niche for himself as Nollywood’s go-to actor for depth, humor, and authenticity. Whether he's playing the charismatic lover or the strong, thick-accented Igbo man with a heart of gold, Uzor doesn’t just act, he embodies. And every single time, he makes the story come alive.

Producers know it. Directors are scrambling to get him on set. Audiences? We’re glued. From cinema screens to YouTube premieres, Uzor’s presence alone is enough to push a film into the spotlight.

Just take a look at the lineup:

Love in Every Word – That “Achalugo” moment? Iconic.

Three is a Match – A modern twist to love and chaos, Uzor held it down.

Odogwu Landlord – Classic Igbo vibes, comedy and wisdom in full swing.

Put a Ring On It – Romantic, vulnerable, and powerful, Uzor delivered yet again.

These aren’t just movies, they're experiences. And one man ties them all together: Uzor Arukwe.

That’s The Uzor Effect, where talent meets charisma, and a simple movie poster becomes an invitation to something unforgettable.

Now the big question is:
Do you think Uzor deserves an AMVCA this year?

PoliticsSomolu Deserves Fresh Leadership, Not Recycled Ideas! by klimkid(op): 7:43pm On Jan 24, 2025
As Somolu gears up for a pivotal election, it’s time to ask ourselves a critical question: What kind of leadership does our community truly need?

Some candidates have spent so many years in higher offices, wielding influence and resources. Their time in power should have been an opportunity to make a significant impact, not just in their constituencies but across the state. Yet, with all their years in larger roles, why are they now running for LGA Chairman?

Leadership should be about legacy and mentorship, not a fallback plan. True leaders pave the way for younger, fresher minds to step in and take communities to new heights. Instead of clinging to positions, they should focus on empowering others to lead.

Somolu needs a leader who sees local governance not as a career downgrade but as a platform for real change. It’s time for someone who understands the heartbeat of the people, a leader who embodies the energy, creativity, and progressive ideas that our community needs to thrive in today’s world.

We need someone who prioritizes innovation over tradition, action over promises, and connection over detachment. Somolu is brimming with untapped potential, and only a leader with fresh perspectives and a genuine passion for community development can unlock it.

For too long, we’ve seen the same faces, the same recycled ideas, and the same stagnant approaches. Somolu deserves more. It’s time for a leader who represents the future, not the past, a leader who is not just ready to serve but also ready to redefine leadership.

As we prepare to vote, let’s consider this: leadership is not a retirement plan. It’s a call to action, and it’s time to embrace someone with the vision, energy, and commitment to take Somolu to greater heights.

When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.

A man deeply rooted in the heartbeat of Somolu,
Born in the vibrant streets where resilience was the only currency,
He grew amidst challenges, forging strength from struggle,
Learning the rhythms of the land, and the stories of its people.

From humble beginnings, he rose not by chance,
But through a life of purpose, a journey of giving,
Somolu shaped him, and he embraced it all, the lessons, the laughter, the legacy.

This is Ojomu, a name that resonates with service,
A man who believes leadership is a duty, not a privilege.
He’s walked these streets, felt their pulse,
And now, he’s ready to lead them into a brighter tomorrow.

This is Ojomu, giving back generously to the land that made him.
With a heart set on growth, his vision is clear:

A better Somolu, a thriving Somolu.
This is not just a man; this is a movement.

Somolu, the nation is calling, and it’s our time to answer.

RomanceShould Relationships Be A Cash Cow? by klimkid(op): 2:43pm On Oct 29, 2024
Tope had always thought he’d struck gold when he met Funmi. She was the perfect blend of charm and ambition, and her smile alone made him feel like the luckiest man alive. Over the past year, they’d grown close, sharing dreams of the future and talking about the life they’d build together.

But everything changed one evening at a friend’s birthday party.

It was a lively night, and the room was buzzing with laughter and music. Tope stepped away from the table to grab drinks when he noticed Funmi and her friend having an animated conversation nearby. He was about to join them when he heard Funmi’s voice clearly.

“I mean, to be honest, I’m just with Tope because he helps me financially. He’s sweet and all, but if he wasn’t supporting me like this, I’m not sure I’d even stay,” she said, laughing.

Tope froze. It was as if the air had been knocked out of him. Was this the Funmi he thought he knew? The one who’d spoken about wanting a real partnership, a life where they’d lift each other up?

He stepped back, out of sight, his mind racing. All the moments they’d shared suddenly felt tainted. The times he’d willingly paid for their dinners, helped her with her business ideas, or even bought her that laptop she’d been eyeing—it all seemed different now. He’d thought he was supporting her dreams. But now, it felt like he was simply a financial lifeline.

That night, Tope lay awake, her words haunting him. “I’m just with Tope because he helps me financially.” Each word seemed to dig deeper, unraveling the love and trust he’d built in his heart.

The next day, he couldn’t keep it bottled up. As they sat over breakfast, he looked at her and asked, “Funmi, what does our relationship mean to you?”

She looked at him, a bit thrown. “What kind of question is that? You know what we have.”

“But is it more than just… financial support?” he asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

Funmi paused, her smile fading. “Well, Tope, aren’t men supposed to be providers? I thought you understood that.”

Tope’s heart sank. “I thought a relationship was about more than money—that we were building something real together. I’m happy to help when I can, but I never thought that was the only reason you’re here.”

She looked down, silent, and for the first time, Tope realized they weren’t on the same page. For him, love was about partnership, about growing together and being there for each other in every way. But for Funmi, his role seemed more about financial support than anything else.

As he walked out that morning, he found himself asking, When did love become a transaction?

Have you ever felt that a relationship was more about financial support than companionship? Do you believe that financial expectations should play a central role in love?

I sha know Nigerians are tired of APC and PDP. He could stand a chance!
PoliticsPoll: Dr. Bright Enabulele Leads As Top Candidate For Edo Governorship by klimkid(op): 9:13am On Aug 19, 2024
A 2024 Edo State governorship pre-election opinion poll commissioned by network of transparency integrity initiative (NTII) and Researchers, Pollsters, and Examiners, has placed Dr Bright Enabulele of the accord party [ACCORD] as the most preferred aspirant to vote for in the state's governorship election.

The non-profit organisation, in the report of its research and survey, signed by Dr Frank Walter ITUA, Lead Consultant, and released on Thursday, 19th August 2024, said that Dr. Bright was ahead among six leading candidates across party lines.

The poll also accommodated questions via telephone for those rooting for Esan agenda in the sceduled September 21, 2024 election.

The three leading candidates who featured prominiently at the top of the chart after collating responses through phone, according to the pollster, are Dr. Bright Enabulele of the Accord party, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP), and Senator Monday Okpebholo of the all progressive congress APC

The result of the poll, which was conducted from February 29th, 2024 to August 14th, 2024, showed that 38% per cent of respondents proposed to vote for Dr. Bright Enabulele if the election was held at the time of the poll, while Asue Ighodalo got 20% per cent, Monday Okpebholo got 18% percent 17% for Olumide amAkpata of the Labour Party.

Dr ITUA, said the report showed an analysis of the performances of all the aspirants in Edo State, in the poll during which a total number of calls made was 270,785 while 253,927 responses were recorded.

The voters' positive response votes made by the survey calls for seven candidates in the upcoming Edo State Governorship elections to be held were recorded, the response also show a large number of disappointments from the leading party in the state and Nigeria.

The data was collated and analyzed to provide insights into the electoral dynamics and candidates' performances in the eighteen Local Government Areas.

The following figures show the positive responses from registered voters to questions around the seven selected candidate in state., to wit: Senator monday [20,404], Dr. Bright Enabulele [95,595], Olumide Akpata [42,471] Asue Ighodalo [50,165].

Those who answered in the affirmative to the question on Esan Agenda were 6,973.

From the above figures, Dr. Bright Enabulele has the highest number of positive responses in the entire state followed by Asue Ighodalo.

"This shows that Dr. Bright Enabulele has the highest chances of wining the governorship election for the Accord party due to hunger and starvation, and many EDO indigenous people are disappointed with the leading and ruling party in Nigeria," Dr Frank stated.

Olumide came third with 17%, while Senator Monday was a distant fourth with 9%. Two other aspirants came behind Senator monday.

“Dr. Bright Enabulele came 38 % per cent lead at this stage is significant, but not sufficient to separate him from a leading pack of candidates scoring 20% for Asue Ighodalo and Olumide at 17 per cent and Senator monday Okpebholo at 9 oer cent," Dr Frank said in the statement issued on sunday.

“Undecided voters and those who preferred not to reveal their preferred candidate added up to a whopping 3% and 2%, respectively.

"The gender split of decided voters shows that 38% of women and youths have decided versus 21% of male voters.

“This result was polled from the 253,927 respondents; after which we conducted similar polls with a respondents sample size, the difference in the results was not significant.”

GEO-POLITICAL ZONES DISTRIBUTION

In Edo south, the poll places Dr. Bright Enabulele in the lead with 72% per cent, followed by olumide the current candidate of Labour Party with 21% percent.

In Edo central, Asue Ighodalo led with 39% per cent, senator Monday Okpebholo with 24% per cent.

Also, a study carried out on people who wanted the Esan agenda recorder 9 percent.

In Edo north, Dr. Bright Enabulele tops with 34 per cent, followed by Olumide Akpata with 24 percent, Asue Ighodalo with 19 per cent, Senator Monday okpebholo with 12 percent.

People who responded positively that they would vote for Esan agenda was 2 per cent.

In the statement, the organisation said the February 2024 to August 2024 polls were conducted because of the combination of the decided voters and those with preferred candidates. Voters who refused to disclose their preferences, is not enough to change the poll outcome if the election is held today in the do state.

“Our projections, consistent with our similar projections in past years in polling and critical survey, have pointed to the most possible conclusion that the trends are clear enough to establish the front-runners and so our subsequent polls will continue to concentrate on the leading candidates only,” the statement reads.
