APC is expending all its arsenal on Elrufai. "When you corner a rat, it will fight back". The so-called master strategist should have known this. They pushed Elrufai until he had his back to the wall and left him no room to wriggle. What did they expect him to do? Even in terms of optics, Tinubu has lost the moral high ground because all Nigerians saw how hard Elrufai worked for his election. There is also a public video of Tinubu begging Elrufai in Kaduna to stay behind and work with him. That alone screams betrayal and Northerners do not take betrayals lightly.

It's because of the concept of "Trust" (Amana) that made many Northerners go against Buhari’s body language to support Tinubu in the first place. Northerners take pride in keeping their word no matter what. Why then would Tinubu break that trust? He gambled. Elrufai was never a direct threat to Tinubu. At best, his competitors were other Northerners like Ribadu. If Tinubu wanted to take his pound of flesh from Elrufai, he should have waited until his second tenure was secured. That's what a smart politician would have done.

Elrufai is a very dependable ally but a very formidable foe. Tinubu can no longer get 5.6m votes in the North with Elrufai openly campaigning against him and I don't see him making up for that deficit anywhere in the South. Not with his lopsided appointments. Maybe Tinubu thought Elrufai would be desperate and go contest the election in another party thereby further splitting Northern votes. How wrong he was! Elrufai would do more damage in 2027 without being on the ballot than if he was on it. There's no Northerner currently in Tinubu’s cabinet that can counter the damage that Elrufai will do.

B. Outrightly rigg and damn the consequences

El rufai being smart as he is has seen this long ago but waited until the hunger resonates among the northern masses to strike.
In my humble opinion, he isn't agrieved with that ministerial job Fgs he has been a minister and a Gov, instead he sees an opportunity far ahead - 2031 beyond...the time for the Northern presidency.
Perhaps he worked so well for tinubu in 2023, Tinubu to some extent was impressed but confused at the same time...why would El rufai all of a sudden fight so hard for him? as such never trusted El rufai, the rest that happened is history.
El rufai's plans to become a kingmaker in north seemingly passing away slowly with Tinubu not giving him recognition. His relevance simply going into oblivion.

But let's ask ourselves, is this the best time to look for disciples in the North? With so much hunger and anger in the North? Hell no, Tinubu should be relying on defenders in the North right now not new disciples...that task is a lot harder to complete, and cannot be completed before the deed against him is done already.
In other words... Tinubu now has work to do abeit a harder work than the opposition, completely keeping him busy with calculations within his own party as well as the opposition parties while distracting him from gaining any positives regarding economy-The end result, more hunger and anger among the masses for which he will simply act as an amplifier to every inch in the north.

Don't forget, you may hate El rufai but the Muslim north see him as one of the most intelligent currently, he has their ears even to the inconsequential aboki on the street in the north.
Busy presidency scouting the north for replacements in capacity close to elections? All will not be well.

El rufai knows even a coalition can't win against a united APC with the current machinery in place in the north.
The machinery is his target, break it? Destroy it? Walk away with any vital components? Whatever he can get away with gives the opposition "Call a friend" card.

His relevance will still be preserved should the opposition win even if he's not on the ballot.

In other words - El rufai saw the marking scheme of the assignment Tinubu has given the opposition the decided to add more complexity to the assignment, then turns the table around.
APC has seen the assignment and it's quite difficult that's why they're not sleeping anymore.
They thought the north was in the bag or at least a handful.
They where trying to focus on the SS but El rufai has now taken them back to think about the North again. Surely they will loose focus trying to keep the fire down while the opposition regroups to unite.

If El rufai isn't able to cripple Apc in the north, at least he amputates one limb and that limb won't be thrown away...it goes to SDP then Opposition coalition.


2023, P.O was a taboo in the core north, Atiku did well but not enough against a Northern APC machinery against him. This time around P.O will be branded an angel in the north...mind you...they are already singing and Atiku simply gains heavier weight with El rufai removing some of the roadblocks ApC placed for him giving him the machinery to use.
This means two things:
1. The gap APC has in the north is closed
2. SS becomes the decider...wonder the unrest there esp Rivers?

SW: inconsequential...votes will cancel at worst negligible difference
NC: Negligible difference...

Coalition is the deal in 2027, a merger will fail cos of traps Tinubu has set in PDP and LP, wicked wike and his gang of estate loving supreme court judges will do the magic.
