I agree with you, but believe me, it will stop soon but slowly. It's not every seller's price that's questioned tho, it's just the ones that overprice their item/items. And the continuous posts/interactions should serve as a warning to intending buyers. If the guy that was scammed had carefully gone through the posts/discussions here, he would have been more careful. Even me that was sweet talked into buying trash would not have made that mistake.

Oga, let the thread die. It's better the thread stays this way than having people post thrash for prices of brand new items. As we can see, the few people that have things to sell have been posting. At least we are sure we do not have market people coming to post their markets anymore. No body is stopping anyone from posting what they have to sell as clearance.

this right here is a whole new world of scam that doesn’t really need my solution to work.. I can easily contact a seller that I want to buy goods, then contact another buyer with same goods saying I want to sell, then get the buyer to transfer to the sellers account, the seller thinks I made payment and sends me the goods... my suggestion was a kind of to protect the buyer and not the seller.. seller can’t send a biodata page of someone with still that person’s Acct number matching without in anyway knowing that person, except he jams a gullible fool that falls into the whole problem..

The best thing to do, if you are in another state and you really need the item/s, it's best to find time to travel and pick the item/s personally, or get someone you know in that state to help you inspect and pick the item/s.
With the way people are these days, it's better to just save up and get a brand new or UK used of any item. It's one thing to not be scammed, and it's another to get what is as good as thrash.
You hardly see anything advertised here that is less than the price of a UK used of the same product. Instead of buying thrash for the price of a clean tokunbo of the same product, it's best to just go for the tokunbo in peace and enjoy.

Okay let me share my own experience.

I saw items I wanted to purchase from a seller so I contacted her, she told me one of the items would be available on a particular date and the other is available immediately.

I didnt have time to go and inspect because of work, I just told her I was interested. Later she asked if I was still interested I told her I was, I then sought the services of the moniker Errandteam ( superb service if you ask me), to inspect and deliver the items but then she was asking for a deposit for the 2nd item since she was not ready to release it till the particular date in september meaning I would have to pick both items twice. I was not ready to pay for errand teams service twice neither was I ready to deposit for anything and carry later.

I buy things on this thread/ nairaland strictly on a cash and carry basis, I have followed this thread from inception and bought things far back as 2017 and that has been my method infact even errand team even said I should let it go despite being a good deal, he wouldnt advise me to deposit anything according to his words (madam we have seen different things on this job)

She wanted assurance I would purchase the product eventually, I didnt want stories that touch and she wasn't ready to release both items immediately. I told her I understand her point, she also understood mine. So I told her if both items are still available by the said date she should contact me.

Few days to the said date she contacted me that the items were available, I contacted errand team, he helped inspect and deliver the items same day and everybody was happy, wasnt ready to gamble with around 40k.

In deals on Nairaland emotions and sentiments are not involved.

Brilliant idea, we can do that on this thread. Get people (two or three) from this same thread we trust to do that. It's not a must to inspect, but you pay directly to our clearance team, they hold the money and when the buyer gets the item and is satisfied, the money is sent to the seller. Perfect idea. Me Likey
