I wouldn't advice you to get rotties or Boerboel if you are a first time dog owner. They are powerful breeds and can be quite a handful, they require experienced hands.
German Shepherd dogs are best for first time dog owners, they are just simply amazing. I adore GSD's! I've always wanted one. Lord knows someday I'll steal blasiangurl85's shadow and younghartz's Nicky.
If you are experienced do proceed to get a boerboel, you'll definitely love 'em!
I think all Pure bred Rottweilers have the chest marking? I've never owned Rotties but a friend has one and I must say his is just great.
In my opinion, Rotties and Boerboels are not so different, they are like distant cousins.
If you need more information about Rottweilers, Knyte is your go to guy. His love for the breed is unmatched.

Sorry about the loss, vaccination for puppies is very important so is less exposure to the outside environment until it's gotten all its shot

Dear All,

My rottie of 12 weeks old has been down with Parvovirus in the last 8 days? Vet says its recovery is very slow and had to change course of treatment after it didnt yield to the first. I'm seriously concerned as a lot has been spent on treatment already and im a little uncertain whether the pup will pull thru on this.

Is parvovirus treatment usually this intense and does it take this long for the pup to recover? someone please advise.

Parvo recovery is a slow process and yes treatment is a lot of work also. The vet shld b able to get him out of d danger zone

Good morning nairalanders,

Attached is my boy Zeus, a 1 year old male caucasian and i am concerned about his excessive coat shedding. Basically I thought he was due for deworming, but after administering the shots, he's still shedding some more (prolly lesser) now.

Please I will like to confirm the following:

1. Is it normal to shed coat at this time; considering he is exactly a year this month and/or is it the season?

2. Should I take this as normal or be worried?

Please suggest steps to take, as contributions will be highly appreciated.

No cause for alarm bro, Caucasians, gsd and rotties shed a lot this time of the year but as my padi arcbay said it can be reduced by placing him on multivitamins.
