My padi Prodeegee thank you for this thread and i hope we learn a lot from ourselves and from other people who have something worthy to say.
Its always nice when we have one litter and automatically we have been crowned a 'breeder', don't get me wrong we have all made mistakes but what makes a backyard breeder and someone who chooses to improve on this breeding stock is passion.
Breeding isnt limited to dogs alone and as a breeder when the breeding season of your bitch is near you just don't go looking for the biggest dog with the largest head size, paw size but you look within too and when I say within I mean the TEMPERAMENT of both dogs if pairing them up is an insane move or a brilliant one.
I was having an argument the other day on how some breeds are slowly been bred for how they look than what they should be able to do. A breeder should always want to do better than his last litter, a breeder should have a well comprehensive history of his dogs even if they are not registered or pedigree, a breeder is someone who will always stand against inbreeding, cross breeding and all sorts of indiscriminate breeding techniques, a breeder is someone who isn't just after making a quick buck off his pups but want them to go to a good home.
My story don too much sef but its all out of passion. All in all let's push ourselves to do better and build a better canine community #pawsup

Feed 3times a day 12wks old, a combination of feed, boiled eggs, fish, meat, chicken, rice, indomie waste. The time table you can handle that yourself. After 3months old you can reduce to 2times a day and after a yr old just once a day, still a combo of protein rich food

Getting a really good pet food for your dog is all about stability, if finance is not a problem get diamond, k9 favourite nd d likes but If not arion for puppy does a good job too. My rotties were brought up eating arion. You dnt necessarily have to mix with anytin, just feed dry. How old is your rottie cos at puppy hood it needs to feed right and we'll and it begins now.

If your dog pulls during walks, you can use a front-attached body harness. This is a body harness which is connected to the leash at the front of the dog's body. When the dog tries to move ahead of you, the dog's body is turned sideways towards you instead. Here's a promo video:

Choke collars doesn't necessarily mean even you have to use it for correcting the dog when you go on walks. I have a choke collar but he only wears it indoors. Why? It adds a sense of beauty to the dog, for walks I use a regular collar nd i av my correction methods when he's pullin on the leash
If the choke collar is as bad as you make it sound why hasn't it been banned?

Coconut oil is really good for your dogs especially at this time of the year where dogs suffer excessive heat and dry skin, it helps to moisten the skin and at the same time improves the dogs health. I use it and it has never failed me.

Very few vets can identify breeds without a problem without calling it anoda names. Av heard vets misled people consciously nd unconsciously cos they don't knw. If you want to figure out wat breed u have or getting a breeder is that person to help u out, not a vet
They same way when it comes to treatment breeders can't tell a good VET what is nd isn't.

Every breed has their own health issues but what makes owning a rottie is more in its temperament than health. Imagine if a boerboel had d same aggressive temperament as a rottie, thats why we hear more of rottie incidents than other common breeds.
Although the health of a rottie is very fragile compared to other breeds thats why diet, regular exercise nd hygiene has to b taken seriously.
