@ david

Am glad that you agreed is feasible in years to come. We will get there.

@Gnature

I don't agree with you concerning the size. See, the system of government will not be the normal presidential system. They leaders at that time will work out a proper style of governance for the great UNITED AFRICAN STATES.

So what do you guys think of the present moves to harmonize the west african currencies?

Have you ever thought of Asari Dokubo as a politician? From dey guy comments recently, I see am as person wey love this country and can make massive changes if given the opportunity. Him fit sill claim youth na.

Then we go call the movement "MOVEMENT 4 THE EMANCIPATION OF NAIJA YOUTHS aka Babas must go"

That is true, but ain't you scared that there could be treats of massive migration or even nuclear attacks (from smaller countries) if only naija and SA keep developin leaving them behind? You know africans get "bad belle" well well and these guys kill for fun in their poor countries.

Politics › Re: To All Nigerian Youths by kokoA(m): 11:35pm On Jun 30, 2007
Na now you call person jor' Duke! That is the kind of person the youths should be working with. Forget El'Rufai, I have never liked that guy personally though he is doing well sha, he talks with both sides of his mouth, Dat one na betrayer. If Ribadu can be convinced, he will also make a good politician.

Ghali Umar Na Abba ( Dat former speaker) , him try sha. Even Ayim Piaus Ayim (former senate president), these guys were quite young.

I see your point actually, but to an extent we have tried to make proper use of ours before now. Why not see it this way, South africa is good in management (that's their stronghold), we have ours to and so do other countries. Don't you think that our corruption can be cancelled out by south Africa's proper managerial skills for instance and so on. Complementing each other is what am driving at. What do you think?

The same diamonds that plunged Sieraleone and Liberia into 10yr civil wars? The same gold that has ensured that 40% of Ghana's economy is dependent on foreign aid?
You see, that is the more reason why we have to acquire these countries to teach them how to "make money" out of their resources. What do you think?

My guy, lets not think of that at all. I suggest we should just play along with the old folks, join pdp or any of the existing ones, then get what we want and betray them. What do you think?

I totally agree with denex. But now is not the right time just as he has said.

It is good though that the issue have arisen. ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY.

@ daviddylan

I know Nigerians are naturally proud people but you are taking it to the extreme. Why don't you think of what we can gain as well? There is diamond in Serrialone (permit my spelling) remember? There is gold in Ghana and so on. So why are you scared?

Thats my point, you see what we should be talking about now is not staging a revolution, rather we should find other avenues which we can use to compel not only the government but also corporate bodies to invest more in our educational sector (starting from nursery to tertiary level). With special concentration on the rural communities.

Eduction is the only power we need to collect what rightly belongs to us not violent demonstrations. With eduction these guys in the rural areas will become informed and actually know that they posses certain rights which they have been denied.

"How can this be achieved?" will be the next question right? OK, this is how: The few privilege youths like you and I and every youth on nairaland should participate actively in politics rather than sit on the fence and criticize the old folks. We should take it upon ourselves to compete for every political office opened to us. If we have like 50 senator below 40yrs in our national assembly and maybe 200 house of rep below 40yrs as well, there is every possibility that proper legislations will be enacted to aid the growth of rural education. This will empower a greater percentage of the youth in our country, it is only then that we can start thinking of taking our proper position in the Nation.

It is going to be a long term plan but I bet it will pay in the long run. So what we should be talking about now is EDUCATIONAL REVOLUTION ! Peace.

I think the man should be commended for the Job well done. Some People alway think that Nigeria will continue to be bad that nothing good will ever come out from their leaders. i think we are now in transitional period of our democracy, if things continue this way, Nigeria will be a big country to talk about. look at Anambra scenario, since that state was created, there was never a good Governess in that state until Ngige came in although he came through back door. But he made his people see what is like to have a good Government. The point i am trying to make is that, we may see that kind of leadership in this President.

what is wrong with Nigerians? a man comes out and declares his assets, and we criticize him? why can't we just be positive for once, i think thats why Nigeria does not make progress because they do not have a positive outlook. for God's sake which other president has ever come out to declare his asset. this is progress, there are high chances he might just turn out to be better than Obj.

Did somebody say revolution? Where were dey when Abacha was strangling this country dead? So we are celebrating the best president we will have this century and others are planning to uproot the government.

WAFARIAN, we are now seeing the way things happen in the NigerDelta.

Happy Revolution!
No mind the warri boy. What have all the revolutionary tendencies they have been putting up in the niger delta done to aliviate their sufferings? Nothing! rather they have got more hardship and now their eyes don clear, they want dialouge.

People like you that never say anything good about nigeria, will bow your heads in shame in a few years from now. I can assure you that.

You are talking about Ghana huh? Did you also know that Ghanians suffered the worst human rights violation under Jerry Rawllings? after their so called "revolution". Can you compare ghana's economy to that of Our country now?

If you don't believe in your country, you can as well leave to a foreing land and be treated as a second-class citizen. But as long as most nigerians (as you can see on this forum) believe in nigeria, it will surely change. So is very very insignificat if you love nigeria or not. THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE IS THE VOICE OF GOD. and the people have hailed yar'adua!

GO PLAN YOUR REVOLUTION ALONE !

Na true my sister. But you should also know that it is only a small percentage of youths like you and I that have access to informations concerning our nation. Over 65 percent ( i stand to be corrected) of our youths recide in rural areas and have no access to formal education, that is where the problem lies. So tell me how can we get those ones involve in this proposed revolution?

Why should they cmment when there are other important national issues to be looked into ehn? ASUU have been on strike for 3 months, niger delta problem is lingering, etc. And you want them to waste time on a criminal. If the case is in court, let it remain with the judiciary and let the legislators do their work which is : TO MAKE LAWS!

To me, its even risky building such a national treasure in lekki, a land reclaimed from water. Wot if it sinks or flood occurs? It should have been built some where other than lagos. (maybe calabar)
Politics › Re: First Telecommunications, Then Space Exploration And Now Banking by kokoA(m): 1:51am On Jun 29, 2007
why SA na? If not for bad leadership, do you think SA should be competing with us in anything? We should be far ahead of them rubbing shoulders with countries like United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, singapore, china, etc.

I am even ashamed at us talking about "catching up with" with SA. a country we assisted in their struggle for self rule.
