It does not help to sweep the truth underneath the rug, Nigeria in 2006 is worse than Nigeria in 1986. There are not many countries in the world with all this wealth, you can say that about. Keep on shutting people up, and living in your acceptable chaos!

I completely agree with you. Seun is a passionate Nigerian, and i think a lot of guys like him are hoping with their hearts and not seeing with their eyes. Tafa Balogun stole over Naira 4 Billion and was in charge of the Police. Atiku another Big Thief has stolen for years and is now V.P. OBJ another Criminal is @ the helm. You cannot have a thief, police a thief. I think Nigeria is at least 100yrs behind SA, talk less of any European Country. We are a nation of vagabonds and thugs without the rule of law. I believe even some of the Clergy are corrupt and work hand in hand with the government. They can call our leaders out, yet all they do is open mega churches and pass the collection tray.

Kokscity is worried about the Home land. Currently Monday morning Quarterbacking from the Comforts of the Eastern Seaboard! Water Country USA!

PoliticsIs Nigeria On The Verge Of Civil War? by Kokscity(op): 9:01pm On Feb 21, 2006
Is Nigeria On The Verge Of "Civil War" Or Civil Uprising?

We hear it more and more on the news everyday. Expatriates being Kidnapped, Muslims Killing Christians in the North, Christians retaliating in the South, Oil Flow stations being blow up, Pipelines being sabotaged, the Massob movement, Issues in the Niger Delta ETC. Are we there yet? Is there a storm brewing in the country? I think that something big is about to happen and the Niger Delta will be the catalyst.

What say you?

@ Seun and Topic

Only when you have seen better, do you know what chaos Nigeria is in right now. Nigeria is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. And this continuous problem with the people of the Niger Delta, might just be the catalyst for complete Anarchy and social breakdown in that Nation.

@Seun

95% of Nigeria's revenue comes from Crude Oil and Natural Gas reserves. 70-85% comes from the Niger Delta Plus Akwa Ibom State. If that area is in Turmoil, it means the rest of Nigeria will feel the sting and that is exactly what is happening. Turn off the Oil in Warri,Eket,Bayelsa,PH ETC and Nigeria will come to it's Knees in a matter of Hours. So what happens in the Niger delta really reflects the image of the country, and i think that the country is going in the direction of somekind of Civil Unrest or maybe even war b4 or after the 2007 Elections. I think that will be when we decide if we are a country of rights, justice, and peace under a constitution. Or if we are really 2 countries living in one.

Kokscity is no Psychic!

I like your line defintions on the bottom there, that was classic. I am always getting attacked when i call Nigeria exactly what it is a "Quagmire". I lived in PH too just like you and i was in the Eye of the storm. It is particularly shameful how the natives are exploited of their resources in the Niger Delta and then told that they are greedy, and arrogant. Every where else in the middle east, including Iraq, Iran, UAE,SAUDI,Bahrain,ETC These companies (Shell,Agip,Exxon,BP,Chevron,ETC) take their time to invest heavily on infrastructure and the local indigenes. I am appalled @ the state of affairs in Oil rich Nigeria, and our leaders turn around and call the people terrorist. Listen it is simple, If you drill in the Niger Delta, add local content to your operations, and make sure you are taking care of those people who have the oil.

Well said on the Shell Issue, i think they are the main problem in Niger Delta and they can do more for the people whose land they made record profits from.

But i also think you are hating on me, i am not sure why but please stop hating.

Watch what prices do tomorrow versus Fridays close. If Oil Prices reach $70 per barrel in before the peak summer driving season, then i say we send the US NAVY over there to do what our failed leaders cannot do. This is much bigger than OBJ and those fat fools in government can handle. They obviously are already begging for help behind closed doors.

You guys are holding it down .I think Amobi is arguing from his heart and not with facts. If Yankee was so bad why did you go ahead and get a green card. Why didn't you get your BS in Chemo in Unilag or Igbenidion University? Why are you having you parents waste money to come here on Vacation? Have them patronize Yankari game reserve or Obudu Cattle ranch. After you finish school u want to go to Canada abi? Why not just buy a one way ticket home to Nigeria. Infact i will go half on that ticket. Renounce your green card and i will pay for the ticket in full, and give you $2500 to start life in any city in Nigeria.

Dude the bottom line is you are all mouth and no action. Nigeria is a failed Nation and will only get better when we can call it what she is(Failed).Nigeria has failed it's citizenry,it's neighbors, and failed the continent period. I think we need to rise the Bleep up and take back that country. OH Here comes Seun lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed undecided

Finally u are acting like an adult. I am not sure where you get that impression of me from. But i must say if you need helpful tips on how to leave the nest, i can help. I left my parents a while ago and the feeling at the time was good. To be a man is not a day's job. But to be a man you have to free yourself of your parents and stand alone. Your mates get pikin, you still dey quarrel with your mama and papa for house. Even me sef, get shame for you. Timmy stop glorifying drugs as a yard stick to success.

Kokscity's advice is just that,an advice.

Bro i like your sermon, but reality is different. I am telling you i was there in OCT O5 to DEC-05 and right now you cannot drive thru OgoniLand/Ijaw country at night. From PH to UYO or Calabar thru Eleme RD is unsafe until you get into Akwa-Ibom State. Benin to Warri there are like 30 Police check Points, some of them blocks away from each other. The whole Niger Delta is on edge, i was in the frontlines and have first hand accounts. These Tribes/communities are not messing around. That is where most of Nigeria's oil and wealth comes from.

I have been in Yankee a bunch of years, and even with Racism,Unemployment, and your so called segregation, It is better than that Dump called Nigeria. I am not going to apologize for nothing.Odeku i am shocked that you have been here for 20yrs and you do not understand that people are entitled to their opinion. Like it or not, i have my ideas and i am sticking to it.But i must agree with you that Nigeria has some good foods. Oil is our problem, as well as our wealth. You can't remove oil from someone's ground and leave the community in poverty. I strongly believe people have had enough. And i think the are more organized than people are giving them credit for. OBJ is absolutely the "worst bastard" i have seen in an Agbada!
I think our military is under equipped and will have a hard time bringing law and order in the Niger Delta area. BRACE YOURSELF PEOPLE,IT IS GOING TO BE A BUMPY RIDE.
