Topic : The Holy Spirit
Text : Acts 1:8
'But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth'.

Introduction
After the salvation of a person, the next most important thing that can happen to such person is to be filled with the Holy Spirit so as to run the race with ease, to finish well and to reach the uttermost goal, which is eternity in God’s Kingdom where we shall reign with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as King forever.

Holy Spirit As A Person
Holy Spirit is a divine personal being and must be related to as such. He is the third person of the Godhead, that is God, the Father, God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ makes this clear when He refers to Holy Spirit as the Comforter in John 14:16 "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever". I pray as we regard Him as a person in our lives, He shall help us, intercede for us, strengthen us and stand by us always in Jesus mighty name.
Brethren, it is more than just an experience receiving the Holy Spirit because as a Divine Personality, He comes to live in us, to dwell in us and to make His home in us. Therefore, receiving the Holy Spirit is just the beginning of an exciting journey if we grief Him not

Holy Spirit, A Promise From God.
God through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has promised us to pour out this Spirit upon us in respective of age, race, status or tribe. Joel 2:28 "And afterward I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions".
The promise of the Holy Spirit is for the body of Christ of which you and I are members as we see in Acts 1:5 " For John baptized with water, but not many days from now you shall be baptized with (placed in, introduced into) the Holy Spirit". The fulfillment of this is seen in Acts 2:33 " Being therefore lifted high by and to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promised [blessing which is the] Holy Spirit, He has made this outpouring which you yourselves both see and hear".
I pray that people shall see the evidence of the Holy Spirit in our lives in Jesus name, amen.

Personal declaration : I shall be alerted always to the Holy Spirit in Jesus mighty name.

Prayer Points.
1. Father, give me more of your spirit.
2. Father, give me the grace to allow the Holy Spirit to operate maximally in my life.
3. Father in the spirit of independence, give me total freedom from sin, self and satan in Jesus mighty name.
4. Father, make my ways prosperous as I go this week, this month, and in this last quarter of this year in Jesus Name
5. Father, anoint me with the anointing of ease as I journey in this season in Jesus mighty name.

First Things First

Do you want to be the type of person who is kind and loving to other people? Do you want to be a person who shows the kind of love to others that God shows to you? Do you want to be a source of life to your family, friends, the person you are dating—and the person you will eventually marry? Then you need a source of life. This is how it was always meant to be. Love embraced becomes love extended. It is the natural outworking of being loved first by God (see 1 John 4:19). When you have a source of life, you can be a source of life.

In John 4, Jesus explained how each of us have a deep longing in our souls to be loved. Jesus was talking to a woman at a well, and at one point he said to her, “You have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband” (verse 18 niv). He also said, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water” (verse 10 niv). Jesus was saying, “You have been looking for satisfaction for your deep soul thirst in the arms of men—and you cannot find it there. You have misdiagnosed your need.” Jesus was saying the only satisfaction for the longing in her soul was found in God, the source of life, and not in any human relationships.

When you use a dating relationship to validate yourself, it only leads to sucking the life out of the other person. This is how toxic dating relationships are formed. This is why so many go wrong. When you bring God-sized needs to other human beings, there is no way they can meet those needs. Nor can you offer them unconditional love on the days they are struggling, because they are the ones who represent your source. But when God is your source, it becomes the most natural thing in the world to let his love flow through you and into the person you are dating. When you know you are truly beloved, it is easy to love others. When you have an inexhaustible resource of love, you can then be a source of love for others.

If you are in Christ, you know you are cherished by the most beautiful and powerful being in existence. He knows your name. He sees you. He gave all to make you his. He will never give up on you. So, before you date—and before you choose to marry your mate—you need to be meeting with your Maker and forming a relationship with him. It is in the stability of walking with Christ that you have the resources to bless the person you’re dating.

Brothers and Sisters the story of my life since I stopped paying my tithes since December of 2014 has been one of disapointment, constant job loss, hardluck, improvishness and want.


This is no joke o I've ignorantly suffered depression even close to ending my life cos of this issue even close to abandoning my faith cos I ve prayed and prayed and I feared God has abandoned me. Bad news here and there I stopped going to church long time ago and for three years now things has been so bad for me.


I was having discussions with my mum this night on this issue of fruitlessness then she asked me 'when last did you pay your tithe?' and that was my turning point, I broke down in thoughts and I've now found out that I've been my own stumbling block all these years, just this nite.


Oh! How many years I've wasted cos of disobidience, negligence to obey Gods instruction and sin.


My mum told me that its remedy is to start paying my tithe asap and I've made this decision even though I earn peanuts buh I wil endeavour to pay my tithes regurlarly

Thank God u have realized ur mistakes .
I once made this mistake ,I didn't pay my tithe for two month , I realized my salary is no longer enough despite my earnings , I had to borrow to meet my needs ; then I had a deep thought of what has gone wrong, It was because I didn't pay my tithes .
I corrected it, and everything returned to normal .

I don't know why some people cannot think with their head before spewing rubbish.

Instead of writing rubbish, causing segregation, you can use your writing skills to put a smile on someone's face.
