Dogs are not just faithful to their owners but also to their friends. One dog was spotted near Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery refusing to leave the side of a dying friend. Volunteers rushed to the dog’s rescue after a photo of the Great Pyrenees went viral on social media.

Animal advocate Julie Fennel told NBC: ‘He was just kind of sitting guard, like a statue, just sitting there watching over his friend’s body.

‘It really looks like (the other dog) was hit in the road, you can see the blood in the road, and it looks like he dragged her up onto the grass out of the road.
‘Whether it was his companion in his yard at home or whether they met up as strays, but something made him stay by her side.’

Trendy ‘Hoverboards’ are the must-have teen tech toy this year - and already to be seen zooming around parks all over the country. But the devices are actually highly unsafe, fire services have warned.

London Fire Brigade says it has attended numerous blazes caused by hoverboards - many of which are imported devices, some of which come with chargers with are non-compliant with safety regulations.

Steve Curtler from Electrical Safety First said: ‘People are definitely at risk from what we’ve seen,
particularly the charger: There’s no fuse, there’s no protection, so it’s just going to short-circuit, overheat, explode, and catch fire.’

The gadgets could also be illegal to ride.

The Metropolitan Police Tweeted saying that the gadgets are technically motor vehicles, so can’t be used on pavements - but don’t meet official guidelines for use on roads, either.

Legally, users have to stick to private property - and ask the permission of the landowner first - which is bad news for owners already whizzing around London parks.

The Met said, ‘They’re technically motor vehicles and therefore have to be registered, licensed and insured to ride on public roads.

‘The wheels are powered by electric motors which enable it to move, therefore legally it’s a “motor vehicle”.’

A Spanish doctor has been found living in an Italian forest 20 years after he went missing. Carlos Sanchez Ortiz De Salazar, 47, was reportedly discovered with "a dirty face and large beard" by two mushroom pickers in Tuscany two weeks ago. He showed the foragers his passport to prove his identity and said: "I'm Spanish, my name is Carlos and I've been living here since 1997.

"I don't want to live among people: now that you have found me I need to get out of here."

The doctor apparently left his home in Seville in 1995 during a bout of severe depression to live as a hermit in Maremma, Tuscany. He was declared dead 14 years later after his whereabouts were unknown.

His family tried to search for him in the woods on Saturday after the foragers' discovery, but he has disappeared again. Looking at his passport, his parents told Corriere Della Sera: "That's him - that's our Carlos. He is alive and that is the most important thing."

His mother Amelia added: "We respect his will and his freedom but we're not leaving until we have held him in our arms again - even if it is just for one last time."

Just when Chelsea thought their weekend couldn't get any worse, it has. Blues striker Diego Costa has been reported for assault by one of Stoke's steward, it has been claimed. With Chelsea losing 1-0 in the second half, in what seemed an innocuous incident, the Brazilian born forward ran over to collect the ball when it had gone out of play. As Costa bent down to pick the ball up, he appeared to knock a nearby steward.

He then returned to the pitch and the match continued. And now that steward has reportedly made a complaint to the referee, saying he was 'assaulted' by Costa. A Chelsea spokesperson has dismissed the claim as "utter nonsense".

Niah Selway who is Just 17 years old is one of only 35 people in the world to suffer from aquagenic urticaria. Just a drop of water on her skin causes agony, even with this excruciating pain she dares not cry. Niah's okay to drink it and wash her hands but any part of her body that isn't used to frequent exposure is affected.

Niah said: “Living with it is a nightmare. When water comes into contact with my skin it feels like it’s burning. I’m in a lot of pain and there’s nothing anyone can do.”


The distressing symptoms began when she was five but no one could work out the cause. So, just like her pals, she went swimming, would get caught in rain and splashed in puddles, never suspecting it was the water that triggered her painful rash. But as she got older Niah decided to investigate online. She said: “I found a few stories. One was a girl in America who suffers from the same thing and I was like, ‘Wow, finally I’ve found a name for it’.”

A dermatologist diagnosed aquagenic urticaria but there is no cure. Niah who can drink water pain-free explained: “I’m trying different strengths of antihistamine to see if they can help the level of my reaction but they won’t ever stop it.”

So the plucky business student from Hastings, East Sussex, accepts she must live with her discomfort. When she showers, Niah has to time her soak just right to make it as pain-free as possible. “I can be in there for five minutes before it starts happening,” she said.

“But if I were to get out straight away it would get worse so I have to stay in the shower until it stops.

"Even though water makes me have the reaction it’s the water that soothes it as well. I can never tell how long I’ll be in the shower because it depends on the level of my reaction.

“When I take off make-up with baby wipes and use toner and moisturiser it really stings. My face burns for up to half-an-hour but I have to do it.”

Boyfriend Hussain hates to see Niah suffer. She said: “It’s really horrible for him because I just need to be left alone.”

And the cruel allergy means that if it all gets too much, just one tear makes the pain even worse.

Niah sighed: “It will start to sting and feel really sore and difficult to touch.”
