Nearly a meter. We need to have a good clearance off the ground to accommodate the compound filling above anticipated road level and interlocking stones for the compound.
That's high enough

Thank you for taking out the time to view our website. Unfortunately we only sell the Solar system in full and not in parts or separately. The solar system comes with the panels, charge controller, and inverter. This makes up the who system. We also change all light bulbs to energy saving bulbs and install at no extra cost. Thank you.
How much will a complete system of
Inverter 2.5 kva, 400amp battery, charge controller and panels cost.

Those bathroom doors are made of aluminium, I think someone looked at the previous translucent type and went out to improve on it, this one feels solid and well made.
I beg to disagree sir,
That door is made with UPVC profile not aluminium but most of the sellers will always tell you its aluminium.
The door is a good door no question about that but its also expensive.

We have locally made aluminium doors glazed with composite board that are good for the toilet, they not that expensive and will stand the taste of time.

Tile spacers are necessary anytime that you are doing a tile installation. If you want to produce a professional look with your tile job, you need to know how to use tile spacers effectively, apparently it's easy to use and cost so little in price but produces a beautifully aligned, near perfect finish. I hope tilers in Nigeria will embrace the use of spacers sooner rather than later.
Agreed,
Our tillers need to upgrade but the importers need to bring in the spacers first.
Even without spacers, some tillers are delivering a near perfect finish installation.

A tank base is planned for the top, so a section above the stairs will be decked. Also we might still do a parapet fascia on this house.
I have two problems with installing water tank on the roof.

1) the water pressure on the last floor is usually weak unless you plan to install a pressure machine which also requires regular power supply to keep it running.
2) leakage and maintenance issues in year's to come.

Aside the extra cost, I'm for independent water tank stand.

There are some proven facts here:

1) We don't build with sound insulation materials here in Nigeria.

2) You can hear sounds and noise from your neighbours apartment or rooms that share the same wall.

3) The level or frequency of the sound/noise varies between walls.

4) What I have noticed is that the thickness of the block used is not the only determinant of the level of noise heard, i.e both 9" & 6" allows almost the same level of sound to escape the room.
Rather the frequency or level of sound heard on the other side is determined by the thickness and ratio of mixture of the plastering done on the wall.
So the higher the ratio of mixture and thickness of plastering, the less noise you hear.

Oga spyder, you probably haven't got the complain because the ratio of your mixture and the thickness of your plastering are always right to keep the noise at minimum, not that our walls are sound proof.

Good morning all.

Spyder880 you being helpful but i need your advise on this
can a building without pillars go with pre cast parapet and is there any disadvantages at all?
Building without pillars shocked
The pre cast parapet is also very heavy so you need adequate columns and pillars to support the building.
Its a NO NO for me.

Thank goodness the debate has come to an end,
Frankly I don't understand why someone will be asking for a breakdown of cost while he's not willing to do same.
Criticism should always be constructive and backed with lots and lots of fact, and comparison should be based on adherence to specifications.

No we are not on strike at all. The work is moving very smoothly as my iron workers are combining well with my electrical fitters on the deck of this building. Our mission is to give this house a solid first deck as we always do in all our other buildings.
I also left PH for Enugu and will be back Monday morning to see what has been done. All our 3 sites in PH witnessed good pace of work today.
I'm only awere of two sites, pls I need the link to the third one.
Thanks

Of course the way we do tiles in Nigeria is a lot different from the way they do it in U.S or in some other countries. You acknowledged the concrete floors in other countries are well done and flat. What stops our own people from achieving flat concrete floors? The point is we tend to do things one way and intend to stick to only way we know how to do things instead of updating our knowledge and evolving. I have seen so many concrete finished floors done in the U.S that I have never seen done anywhere by Nigeria bricklayers. The smoothness, neatness and finishing are a lot better than our Nigerian counterparts. A regular Nigerian bricklayer is more interested in about how many blocks he sets up a day or how many bags of cement he used in a day work than the quality of work he puts out.

Go on youtube and see how they pour floor concrete in other countries as compared to the way they pour floor concrete in Nigeria. We are more into quantity of work we do in Nigeria than the quality of work we do.
Agreed, there's no law stopping us from achieving a well levelled and smooth concrete floor.
Over to oga spyder
Wetin make we still dey do am like this, abi we no fit change am?

But then we still have to consider the cost of getting our concrete floor levelled and smooth during casting and that of levelling it during tilling which is more economical.
PropertiesRe: The Port Harcourt Luxury Flats by koman: 11:05pm On Nov 01, 2014
I've watched all the videos and I dont see much difference between how its done here and what is obtainable out there.

To have a perfect/neat installation, you need an even/levelled and smooth floor.
Their floor looks levelled and smooth so all they need is to apply a light mortar that acts as an adhesive between the floor and tiles.

Here in Nigeria, we don't usually have an even and smooth floor so we have to level it with a mixture of sand & cement before we can have a perfect/neat installation.

It might seem that we waste more materials but I reality, we don't.

The only area our tilling technology can be accused of being crude is that we dont usually use the spacers and levellers.

Marine boards are very good, but do you know the cost differential between using it and using the wooden boards as shown above? I will want to know too, before I veer off course and end up not completing this decking grin
I spoke with one Engineer that uses marine boards for his construction works,
He said its only wise to use them if your doing a two or three storey building as it can be reused.
But if it's a storey building, wooden board will be ideal as its cheaper.
He also mentioned that not all the carpenters can utilise the marine board for decking platform because the techniques is a bit different from the conventional.
But overall, it gives you a neater finish.
