CLEAR FACTS TO PROVE WHY THE WHOLE WORLD NEEDS TO EMBRACE ISLAM Islam is an all-embracing way of life. It extends over the entire spectrum of life, showing us how to conduct all human activities in a sound and wholesome manner. It does not allow a hierarchy of priests or intermediaries between Allaah and human beings, no farfetched abstractions and no complicated rites and rituals. Everybody can readily understand the Quran and follow in the footsteps of the Prophet , to the best of his or her ability, assured by Allaah that He will accept the deeds that each soul has the ability to offer (what means): "On no soul does Allaah place a burden greater than it can bear." [Quran 2:286] When we read the Quran or the Prophetic traditions, we find instructions regarding all aspects of life: political, social, economic, material, ethical, national and international. These instructions provide us with all the details needed to perform a certain act. The Prophetic traditions go as far as showing us all the steps we need to follow, even the etiquette of using the bathroom: supplications to be said upon entering it and leaving it, how to clean ourselves properly and so on. To summarize, Islam governs a Muslim's life in all its aspects. This is the reason why it is not only a religion but also a way of life. Islam does not recognize any kind of separation between religion and life. It openly rejects the Western saying: "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and unto God what is God's"; for everything should be dedicated to God alone and a Muslim is required to submit himself completely to the Will of Allaah in all his affairs (what means): "Say: ‘Truly, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. No partner has He: this am I commanded, and I am the first of those who submit to His Will.’" [Quran 6:162] Islam does not believe in wishful thinking. It clearly states that righteous conduct must be followed by belief in Allaah. The Quran says (what means): "For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never (fail)." [Quran 41:8] And (what means):"Those who believe and work righteousness, joy is for them and a blissful place of (final) return." [Quran 13:29] Islam, as the revealed Religion from Allaah, is comprehensive and perfect. Its Divine Book, the Quran, is the most comprehensive book available to mankind for guidance ¾ nothing has been omitted from it. In order to guide mankind to the Right Religion, Allaah has completed His Divine Favor upon us by making Islam the Perfect Religion. The last message that Allaah has sent to His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad for our Divine Guidance is the perfection of Islam. As we mentioned above, when we read the Quran or the Prophetic traditions, we find instructions regarding all aspects of life. The following are some Quranic verses and Ahaadeeth (traditions), which reflect the comprehensiveness of Islamic economic, social, religious and cultural values. Fair/Honest Dealing in Trading, Buying and Selling Allaah Says (what means): “O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allaah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: and fear Allaah. For Allaah is well-acquainted with all that you do.” [Quran 5:8] Hakim bin Hizam narrated that Allaah’s Messenger said: “The seller and the buyer have the right to keep or return goods as long as they have not parted or till they part; and if both the parties spoke the truth and described the defects and qualities (of the goods), then they would be blessed in their transaction, and if they told lies or hid something, then the blessings of their transaction would be lost.” [Al-Bukhaari] Weighing/ Measuring of Goods for Business Allaah Says (what means): “Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with an even (i.e., honest) balance. That is the best (way) and best in result.” [Quran 17:35] Prohibition of Bribery Allaah Says (what means): "And do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly or send it (in bribery) to the rulers in order that (they might aid) you (to) consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin, while you know (it is unlawful).” [Quran 2:188] ‘Abdullaah bin ‘Amr bin al-’Aas narrated that he heard Allaah’s Messenger saying: "Fornication will not appear among any people without their being punished by famine, and bribery will not appear among any people without their being punished by terror.” [At-Tirmithi] Avoidance of Hoarding and Monopoly The Prophet, sallallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: "Do not withhold your money by counting it (i.e. hoarding it), (for if you did so), Allaah would also withhold His blessings from you.” [Al-Bukhaari] Paying Salaries/Wages of Employees/Laborers on Time The Prophet said: “Allaah says: ‘I will be against three persons on the Day of Resurrection: 1. One who makes a covenant in My Name, but he proves treacherous; 2. One who sells a free person (as a slave) and eats the price; and 3. One who employs a laborer and gets the full work done by him but does not pay him his wages.’” [Al-Bukhaari] Prohibition for Fighting/Murder and Other Crimes Allaah’s Messenger said: “When two Muslims fight (meet) each other with their swords, both the murderer as well as the murdered will go to Hell-fire.” It was said: “O Allaah’s Messenger! It is all right for the murderer but what about the murdered? Allaah’s Messenger, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam replied: “He surely had the intention to kill his companion.’” [Al-Bukhaari] Peace and Reconciliation Allaah Says (what means): “The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allaah; for Allaah loves not those who do wrong.” [Quran 42:40] Respect and Kindness to Women Allaah Says (what means): “O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should you treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of the dower you have given them, except where they have been guilty of open lewdness. On the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity if you take a disliking to them it may be that you dislike a thing, and Allaah brings about through it a great deal of good.” [Quran 4:19] Kindness to the Family, Parents, Relatives, Orphans, the Poor, the Needy and the Weak Allaah Says (what means): “...Treat with kindness your parents and kindred, and orphans and those in need; speak fair to the people; be steadfast in prayer; and give zakaah (poor due)...” [Quran 2:83] Respect to Non-Muslims (People of the Book) Allaah Says (what means): “And dispute not with the People of the Book, except in the best way; unless it be with those of them who do wrong but say: ‘We believe in the Revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; our God and your God is One; and it is to Him we submit (in Islam).’” [Quran 29:46] The above are just a minute portion of reasons to prove Islam is a PERFECT religion and why the world needs to embrace Islam to have a better and happier society. www.naijamuslims.org |

The divorce is twice, after that, either you retain her on reasonable terms or release her with KINDNESS. And it is NOT lawful for you (men) to take back (from your wives) any of your mahr (bridal-money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) which you have given them, except when both parties fear that they would be unable to keep limits ordained by ALLAH (to deal with each other on fair basis). Q2:229 And for divorced women, maintenance (should be provided) on reasonable (scale) by their husbands. This is a duty on Al-Muttaqun (the pious). Q2:241 Lodge them (the divorced women) where you dwell, according to your means, and do not harm them so as to straiten them (that they be obliged to leave your house). Q65:6 This is Allah (God's) stand on divorce cases. I actually wonder why the world is so blind with all these fake men of God. Isn't Islam the PERFECT RELIGION afterall? *The 'Like' button on facebook and other social platforms are for good comments and news and NOT for tragedies like someone's death or sorrowful events. *When using 'lol' (laughing Out Loud). Be sure it is a response to a funny statement and not to answer a question like "How are you doing?" Or "have you eaten?". *99% of Broadcast received are extremely meaningless so why don't you go through it before rebroadcasting. At least to avoid appearing silly. *The BB, Ipads, and other Media tools are good materials to help build your intellectual, improve your written and spoken english and not otherwise. So many people have lost knowledge of basic spellings. Try not to be among that group. *Sending more than 2 Broadcast messages in a single day especially when they are irrelevant, you are really getting someone somewhere disgusted and they are at the tip of deleting you off their contact. Try save yourself the embarrasment. *Why keep a contact you feel too reluctant to chat up or respond to? Remember no prize is to be won in having 'highest number of contacts'. *If you don't get a reply when you send words like HBD, HML (Happy Birthday, Happy Married Life,) and so on, don't get offended. Those words are meaningless so the receiver saw no reason in responding to them. Use the words in full. *12am - 6am are odd hours to send Broadcast or irrelevant messages. You might just be getting some early morning or late night curses from the receiver. * 99% of your contacts don't send you so why shout out your problems or activities when in reality they hardly remember you exist. *When people read your messages and don't respond or reply with one liners like; Maybe, Yes, No etc. Just let them be. You can't force anyone to be happy when they aren't. *Don't be deceived that all your contacts are your friends. While some people added you to monitor your daily life, others added you just to fill up their contact list. So play it safe. |

@Poster, you are so on point. Muslims all over the world now want to infuse Baddah (modernization) from the unbelievers and add it as the practise of Islam. It is surely a sad one. If we don't know and practise our religion so well according to the dictates of Allah the what do we pass to the generation yet unborn. JONATHAN's PLAN TO DISUNITE THE SOUTH WEST Well, enough of the Jokes about the change of the University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University. I could be a very comical person but also very realistic in thoughts. After the jokes and funfair about the change in name, it kept me thinking deep and coming up with the conclusion this is nothing but a POLITICAL CUNFUSION plot targeted at the Southwestern Region of the Country. Its a fact that Boko Haram is more political than religion to bring about the disunity of the Northern Region. Now the name change of the University was announced knowing Politicians, Professionals and Students (who comprises majority of the population) will condemn and protest against the action. This is a plot to create a division amongst the Yorubas and make it look like they don't appreciate one of their own in person of Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola the acclaimed winner of the June 12 1993 Presidential Election. Even though he is termed an "hero" by past and present politicians across Nigeria. The Question is why University of Lagos? Why was it not the National Theatre, National Museum, Bar Beach, Third Mainland Bridge or any other National Edifice Named after him? Don't forget this present administration looks at the North and South West as their major critic and as such will do anything to disunite their "common thoughts" Jonathan and his Government want to play on the intelligence of people by pretending they have good intentions when in reality they do not. |

AN OPEN LETTER TO PARENTS ON CHILDRENS DAY. Hurray!!! It's another Children's Day Celebration. A day specially set aside to celebrate and appreciate the children on this entire universe. Children are the Perfect gift from God, so lovely, adorable and tender. Always innocent looking and practically gets away with almost anything as one easily has empathy for them. Every child ALL over the world deserves a wonderful treatment as they didn't force their way into this world. The decision was amicably agreed (or otherwise) between two parties (the man or the woman). The Holy Books Quran and Bible also advice us to train our children towards the path of God so that they can be a source of joy to us both today and in the future. It reminded us never to spare the rod in order to spoil the child, but also advice to correct with so much love. It is widely believed that Charity begins at home and expected Children should be well groomed from the home front before being introduce to the outer world. I.e, School, Neighborhood and Religious home. Due to the "Computer Age" of the 21st Century, most of those advice and believe have all gone down the drainage. It is now the Computer, Mobile Phone, Internet, Cable Tv, Radio and their fellow peers that give them their first grooming, while parents are left to either mould them a bit or take a back seat and watch their once precious child live by trainings he got from the outer world. In some cases, parents now find it archaic for their children to greet an elder person by saying "Good morning sir/ma", they have come to the conclusion that its rather civilized and more sounding to say "hi uncle or hello aunty" instead. In some homes, children are free to scold their parents when they are displeased with them, words like "Daddy, don't be silly" isn't anywhere offensive in the ears of the parents. School children are now permitted to wear skimpy wears to school, as most school now say "a child should dress just the way they want to express themselves" for better learning and accimilation . Watching of Pornography and singing of vulgar and immoral songs are only mildly handled if such a child is unfortunate to be caught by his or her parents. It was once believed that only adults could molest a child sexually, but few days ago, the world woke up to a shocking video of a Nigerian girl of barely 14years being intimate with a little boy of barely 4years. From those who watched the video, they attested to one fact that not only was the girl already a professional even at little her age, but both herself and the boy enjoyed the act. As they were all smiles all the wide the act lasted. In order to cut an "unending story" short. Without totally trying to throw blames at Parents, Teachers and the Society at large for the down throding morals and societal values are turning out to be, but rather reflect on the words of God Almighty and advice all parties to Go back to the days when the fear of God was instilled to children irrespective of their age. Those were the days when a girl was scared to have sex with a boy even though they were both all alone, a guy refuses to be lured into alcohol and smoking by his peers, pornography was made to be seen as a taboo, cheating, stealing and fraud were totally rejected and unacceptable by children and so many others. "Training is an investment". Good or Bad, the child's behavior tomorrow will tell how well we invested in him or her, not only them turning out better tomorrow, but also guaranteeing how Happy we will be. Religious studies should be made compulsory just like Mathematics and English Language as it was some years back as this will keep helping to instill good morals in children. I hope Parents and Yet to be Parents realize that the perfect of Old ages is one in which your children gives you and the society at large absolutely rest of mind, that can only happen by giving the children the best of training today in order to enjoy a peaceful tomorrow. Once again to all the wonderful kids out there, HAPPY CHILDRENS DAY!!! |

IFEOMA AND CHIDI NEEDS YOUR URGENT ADVICE. Nnamdi was a young man who moved to his uncle's place in Lagos from the Eastern part of Nigeria were he grew after his Senior Secondary School Exams. when Nnamdi arrived his uncle's place in Lagos with the dream of furthering his education, his uncle sat him down and informed him of how he couldn't afford to pay for him to further his education into the University or Polytechnic as he was already paying for 4 of his children who were in the Higher Institutions. He adviced him to go look for a trade or skill to learn as after that, he could save enough money to see himself through school. Nnamdi spoke to his parents and siblings but still none of them could support him financially to further his education. He felt dejected for a few weeks but finally made up his mind to go and learn the skills of Photography. Nnamdi went to meet a man nearby from his home town who was into Photography and told the man of his intention to learn under him for the duration it will take for him to be a professional photographer. As months went by, Nnamdi learnt the act of being a good photographer and a few people who he snapped and covered their events were pleased with him. Not only for his photography skills but also for his honesty and hardwork. Months after Nnamdi started learning, he met a lady named Ifeoma who also came from a near by town to his and they instantly became very close. Nnamdi and Ifeoma shared so many things in common and as such, this saw both of them comforting themselves and building trust and a strong bond. Months went by, and the relationship between Ifeoma and Nnamdi became stronger. They finally started dating and Nnamdi Gave her the assurance of his undying love for her and promised never to dissapoint her. He supported her financially in the little way he could, and introduced her to everyone including his family members as the wife he intends to marry. Nnamdi soon started getting referals from neighbors, church members and friends to come and cover their events, that saw him earning enough money to keep body and soul together as well as save for unforseen circumstances. Things became very tough for Nnamdi at his uncle's place as his uncle's children maltreated him and treated him so badly. This saw Nnamdi more determined to leave his uncle's house only this time with the determination to travel out of the country to find greener pastures. After being dissapointed and duped a couple of times by people who promised to get him a visa to europe, Nnamdi's dreams finally came true as a very good neighbor of his introduced him to his uncle who finally got him a visa to Italy. After some borrowing of funds from few friends and relatives for the supposed trip, Nnamdi finally traveled to Italy. Before leaving, he reassured Ifeoma of his undying love for her and promised to send for her to join him over after he had finally settled down and made a little money to see them through. Nnamdi also assured his best friend Chidi that he was not only going to pay back the debt he took from Chidi for his travel, but he was also going to send some money to Chidi to expand his Pharmaceutical Business. Weeks turned into months and Nnamdi was contacting Ifeoma, Chidi and his family members at least once every week to ask how they were doing. A year and three months after Nnamdi traveled, the regular calls reduced drastically as he only called his parents without getting intouch with his siblings, Chidi his best friend and his fiancee Ifeoma. Whenever Chidi, Ifeoma or his other friends called him, he promised to call them back but he never did. Eventually Nnamdi changed his phone number and was totally incommunicado with everyone. Few days to Christmas of that year, Nnamdi called his parents only to break the news to them that he has gotten married to a lady a met in Italy. He also put a call to Chidi his best friend to inform him also of his marital status. When Chidi confronted Nnamdi on such cruel decision after promising his fiancee Back here in Nigeria of his undying love for her and asked how he wanted her to put herself together? He threatened Chidi of never to call him again and told him to mind his business as he had the right to decide who to marry and who not to. Few weeks later, Chidi broke the news to Ifeoma. As expected she was heartbroken and a total shadow of herself. She lost weight drastically and almost attempted suicide a few times. All this while, Chidi stayed by her side and comforted her. He assured her she was going to meet another man who will treat her better than Nnamdi. Chidi stood by Ifeoma and supported her Financially and Emotionally as Nnamdi had longed stopped getting intouch with her. Exactly seven months later, Ifeoma confessed one night on one of their regular outing to Chidi that she had totally fallen in love with him but was scared of him breaking her heart a second time as this was going to spell disaster to her both physically and emotionally. But then and there, Chidi made her know he felt the same way but was scared of breaking the news to her as he felt she might turn him down. After much courtship and both the families of Chidi and Ifeoma knowing and meeting each other, they finally fixed their wedding date for 2nd week of July (a few months time). The worst happened when Nnamdi called Ifeoma few days ago and have been calling her almost everyday since then, reassuring her of his undying love that she should forgive him his wrongdoings. Of course without knowing of her forthcoming wedding with his best friend. Ifeoma finally broke the news of her wedding date to Chidi and warned him not to call her again as it was certainly over between them both. Now, Nnamdi has threatened to to see that the wedding never takes place threatening to do all he can to stop it. His reason being that he never broke up with Ifeoma, bearing in mind that he did a slight engagement and introduction with her family and as such she still belongs to him and not Chidi. Chidi and Ifeoma need your urgent advice as they are both uncertain at the extent Nnamdi could go to stop or disrupt their wedding. Nnamdi is also going calling all those he last called 3years ago informing them of how Chidi wants to snatch his wife after he trusted him whole heartedly. .....A True Life Story! Chidi and Ifeoma need your urgent advice as they are both uncertain at the extent Nnamdi could go to stop or disrupt their wedding. Nnamdi is also going calling all those he last called 3years ago informing them of how Chidi wants to snatch his wife after he trusted him whole heartedly. .....A True Live Story! logicboy: Things about islam that they dont tell Kaffirs like meYou weren't obliged to type you know? Couldn't make out sense in the above words of yours. |
THE THINGS THEY WON’T TELL YOU ABOUT ISLAM AND WHY IT IS THE PERFECT RELIGION FOR HUMANITY. Asalam Alaikum Brothers and Sisters in Islam. It will be stating the obvious if I say once again that the Religion of Islam is the PERFECT Religion for all humanity. There are well hundreds of thousand points to proof this fact in the Quran as well as the Hadith and Sunnah. When we talk of Perfection, we are not only talking about Spiritual or Believe, but also Health, Family, Love, Career, Physiology, Mental, and Social aspect of life. Allah said in the Holy Quran; “This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favors upon you, and have chosen for you, Islam as your religion.” [5:3] “O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination [al-Nisaa’ 4:59] “And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge)” [Al-Shurah 42:10] A. Iman: The belief in God is the first and foremost important need for spiritual stability. Belief in God includes belief in His attributes, His angels, His books, the Day of Judgment, the Heaven and Hell and belief that - all good and bad is within His reach. Without true belief, neither our prayer, nor charity, nor fasting nor pilgrimage will be accepted. The essence of belief is to rid ourselves of all false gods around us, or within us, and to worship no one except God alone. B. Salat: There are three health aspects of Salat: I. Wudu: Washing all the exposed areas of the body, hand, feet, face, mouth, nostrils etc. 5 times a day is a healthy preventive procedure. Washing of the hand is being emphasized more and more in hospitals now in order to prevent the spread of germs. However, non-Muslims did not know that Washing of the hand is so important - it has been ordered in Quran (5:7) over 1400 years ago. And for complete cleanliness bathing is advised (4:43). 2. Recitation of Quran: This has a healing effect on the body, mind and heart. These healing effects are due to the effect of sound (echo) and the meaning. "O Mankind: There has come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (disease) in your hearts - and for those who believe a guidance and mercy!" (Quran 10:57 "And We sent down in the Quran that which is healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss". (Quran 17:82). The movements in Salat are mild, uniform, and involve all muscles and joints. The caloric output is desired to keep the energy balance. C: Zakat (Charity): The word itself means purification and growth. Here it is meant to imply the purification of legitimately earned wealth. Many of our crimes are committed with money or for the love of money, and in the love of money one becomes violent in behavior. "And he is violent in his love of wealth" (Quran 100: .In Islam the ownership of wealth belongs to God. We are the disposers of that trust. Therefore, this concept establishes peace at heart and our behavior in the loss of money or unusual gain. In either way, we thank God. D. Sawm: The Islamic fasting: Islamic fasting is prescribed as way training of our mind, and body in self-restraints. "O you who believe fasting is prescribed to you, as it was prescribed to those before you, so that you can learn self-restraint." (Quran 2:183). Therefore, during the period of fast one may not only get rid of nibbling food, coffee, smoking but also of anger and excessive sexual passion. In fact, the fast not only gives rest to the stomach but also stabilizes the secretion of hormones which control our behavior. E. Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah): The moral is Prophet lbrahim (peace be upon him)'s submission and absolute surrender to God's will, the opportunity for repentance, and the social and political gathering of the Ummah depicting brotherhood and equality. However, this can be used for programming and testing us for physical endurance, a requirement for all able men and women. The long walks, the heat, the sun, the thirst, the physical exercise, etc. is to remind us of the Day of Judgment. We should perform Hajj when we are young and physically well rather than wait for old age. We should keep ourselves in good shape before and after the Hajj. After describing the pillars of faith as a basis for the spiritual health, let us talk about the maintenance of the physical structure in which the spirit resides. (A) Nutrition: Allah loves His creations so much that He is concerned even with what we eat and put in our body. Our muscles, bones, lungs, liver, brain and secretions are made from the raw product we feed it. If we provide the factory with junk raw products, the factory will not produce tough bones, strong muscles, good pump (heart) and clean pipes (vessels). "O mankind: Eat of what is lawful and good on earth" (Quran 2: 168). Forbidden to us are dead meat, blood and flesh of swine (see Quran 5:3) and intoxicants (Quran 5:91, 92, and 2:219). Science so far has not confirmed any beneficial effects to the prohibitions. The blood and meat of the dead could be full of germs and other harmful elements like antibodies. Pork meat is high in cholesterol, salt and may have worms, and alcohol and other intoxicants that cloud our mentation, our inhibition and interfere with our normal capacity of judging good and bad. Therefore, a person under the influence of alcohol may want to take off his dress, engage in unlawful sexual acts, become violent and abusive without even knowing what he is doing. On medical damages due to alcohol, whole books have been written. The second component in nutrition (after permission of the lawful and probation of the unlawful) is the moderation in the lawful. Obesity is a major problem around the world now, a form of malnutrition, affecting millions of people in Somalia, Chad and Niger amongst other nations around the world, of all age. Ninety-nine percent of obesity is due to overeating. Allah advises as to be moderate in quantity. "But waste not by excess for God loves not the wasters" (Quran 7:31). "Eat of the good things we have provided for your sustenance, but commit no excess therein, lest my wrath should justly descend on you, and those on whom descends my wrath do perish indeed" (Quran 20:81). According to one Hadith of Prophet Mohammed we are advised to leave one third of our stomach empty after finishing the meal. Certain types of food i.e. fruits are especially emphasized in Quran (36:57, 43:73, 16:67) "And from the fruits of date palm and grapes you get wholesome drink and nutrition: Behold in this is a sign for those who are wise" (Quran 16:67). Fruits are low in calorie, high in vitamins and minerals, and fiber and sugar is fructose and not sucrose. Honey is fructose. Which is a very important need for our body system. (B) Cleanliness: Allah is pure and likes purity. He is clean and likes cleanliness. Therefore, cleanliness of body and mind is stressed in Quran (4:43). Miswak (brushing teeth) is not a new invention of last 200 years. This was stressed as part of our daily routine by Prophet Mohammed. He also advised us on flossing (Khilal) as is now being advised by the entire dentist. In fact, he is known to have said that if it was not a hardship for Muslims, he would have advised using Miswak before each prayer i.e. five times a day. Cleanliness of our mind is prerequisite for total cleanliness (body and mind). (C) The Value of exercise in maintaining health Though we do not find much in Quran about specific exercise, or recommendation. The Prophet used to work with his hands whether at home, in the kitchen, or with his companions collecting wood for fire, fighting during wars etc. It is a pity that Muslim men and women have become sedentary and, because of the excessive consumption of starches, obesity has crept into them. We should keep ourselves fit to go for Jihad and feel healthy in peacetime. The State of disease Many of the common chronic illnesses (i.e. coronary heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, peptic ulcer disease, obesity and depression) also have a common man-made etiology that is rich food, too much food, too much salt, too much sugar, smoking, stress and alcoholism. If we give up excessive salt, sugar and cholesterol from our diet, and do not drink and smoke, and stay active, it is possible that the pump (the heart) won't be rusted from inside. What should a Muslim do when disease is confirmed? A. Accept it as a will of God as Kaffara for his sin, and ask him to remove the affliction. "And if God touches thee with affliction, none can remove it but He: if He touches thee with happiness He has power over all things." (Quran 6:17). B. Many Muslims won't seek early medical attention, contrary to the Prophet's practice and teaching. Usamah Bin Shareek (may Allah be pleased with him) reports "I was with the Prophet and some Arabs came to him asking "O Messenger of Allah, do we take medicine for any disease." He said, "Yes, O You servants of Allah take medicine as Allah has not created a disease without creating a cure except for one. They asked which one, he replied old age'. C. Increase your knowledge of health and disease, of medications and side effects. This knowledge is not the monopoly of doctors. You can have it and use it in preventing the illness, recognizing it early when symptoms appear, seeking early medical attention, then monitoring the course of the disease, implementing the treatment (i.e. knowledge of diet for diabetics) and recognizing side effects of the medicine. In summary, our healthy body is a gift from God. We are the trustees. We should not misuse it, nor provide wrong raw products for the factory and we should keep superb maintenance of this delicate and sensitive machine, in order to enjoy it. It is the container of our soul. Others are, SLEEPING POSITION ACCORDING TO ISLAM The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) ordered us not to sleep on our bellies (face down). Abu Dawood reported from Yaesh that Takhfa al-Ghafari said: “My father said ‘while I was lying on my belly in the mosque I felt a person moving me with his foot saying: “Allah hates this way of lying down” I looked up to find out that (the man who was speaking) was the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam)” . Some scholars state that it is dislikable to sleep on the belly. Al-Tirmizi also reported from Abu Hurairah that he said: “The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) saw a man lying on his belly he said to him: Allah does not like this form of lying down” . Ibn Majah reported from Abu Zar : “This is the way in which the dwellers of Hell-fire lie down” . Ibn al-Qayyim said while talking about the medicine of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.): ‘The best is to lie on the right side as this makes the food rest more comfortably in the stomach because the latter is inclined to the left. Then it is better to change to the left side as this makes the food get digested more quickly. But most sleeping should be on the right side… And it is bad to sleep on the back. But it is worse to sleep face down on the belly’ . So, sleeping on the belly is dislikable and can be harmful to health. SCIENTIFIC facts: It’s best to sleep on your right side, because your liver is your heaviest organ and if you sleep on your left then it will cause you discomfort, because it’s squishing your stomach. Sleeping on the right/ left side with the hand under the cheek: 1. organizes the heart pulses. 2. permits the sleeper / asleep person to breath in very natural, perfect way. But who sleeps on his tummy, suffers the following: 1. temporal dyspnea 2. his neck’s vertebra get harmed and will have pains on the long term. Health benefits of Salat Different postures of Salat. In every posture there are certain health benefits, for example, bowing position tones stomach muscles, abdomen and kidneys and the spine becomes supple and flexible, while the spinal nerves are nourished. In doing Sujud, there is less chance of getting headache, spasms, aches, etc. due to the fact that the electrostatic charges are dissipated and discharged.SALAT has been made compulsory on all believers in all situations. It is an activity which cannot be neglected under any circumstance. This obligation on us should not be regarded as a burden, but rather it should be cherished and appreciated. The Arabic word “Salah,” doesn’t only mean “prayer,” because “pray” basically means to address a prayer to God or another deity, according to the Oxford dictionary. “Salah,” is a word with a broad meaning, which doesn’t only mean prayer, but also means goodness, righteousness and godliness. In Salah, we not only ask from Allah but we also thank Him, praise Him and at the same time receive guidance from Him. Besides attaining spiritual upliftment from performing one’s Salat, one may also gain many physical and psychological benefits. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is recorded in a Hadith (Ibn Majah) stating that prayer is a cure for many diseases. The wisdom in this claim can be understood when assessing the physical benefits of the act of prayer. The process of performing Salat expects certain movements and actions, these actions performed at least five times a day have been found to equate to jogging or walking at a rate of three miles an hour. This is a basic level of exercise strongly advocated by doctors and members of the medical fraternity on a whole. Before we delve into a detailed discussion, it needs to be noted that the purpose of performing Salat should not be to obtain health benefits, but rather to fulfill a religious requirement. The fact that there are physical benefits associated with prayer comes as a blessing. Daily, the human beings are propounded by electrostatic charges from the atmosphere, which exudes perspiration in the central nervous system which gets super-saturated. These extra electrostatic charges have to be dissipated and discharged, otherwise resulting in headache, neck ache, muscles spasms, etc. No wonder people regularly take tranquillizers and drugs to relieve the pain. These electrostatic charges are dissipated and discharged when the frontal lobe of the brain is put on the ground, in Sujud. Also, it allows mental toxins to be cleaned by blood. This is also very good for the brain. This prevents diseases such as: Fibromyalgia (Fibrositis) and chilblains. During the Sujud, there is drainage of the paranasal sinuses, thus there are less chances of getting sinusitis which consists of inflammation of the linings of the sinuses that surround the nose. In certain forms of yoga, some adherents stand on their heads for the purpose of blood flowing to the brain, which we Muslims have been doing for centuries. This are Many others too numerous to mention are reasons to proof that Truly ISLAM is the PREFECT Religion for all Humanity as it has been Perfected by ALLAH over 2 million years ago. May Allah continue to guide our paths aright. Curled From - Naija Muslims Platform www.naijamuslims.org Facebook - Naija Muslims Platform Twitter - @naijamuslims |
