THE THINGS THEY WON’T TELL YOU ABOUT ISLAM AND WHY IT IS THE PERFECT RELIGION FOR HUMANITY. Asalam Alaikum Brothers and Sisters in Islam. It will be stating the obvious if I say once again that the Religion of Islam is the PERFECT Religion for all humanity. There are well hundreds of thousand points to proof this fact in the Quran as well as the Hadith and Sunnah. When we talk of Perfection, we are not only talking about Spiritual or Believe, but also Health, Family, Love, Career, Physiology, Mental, and Social aspect of life. Allah said in the Holy Quran; “This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favors upon you, and have chosen for you, Islam as your religion.” [5:3] “O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination [al-Nisaa’ 4:59] “And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge)” [Al-Shurah 42:10] A. Iman: The belief in God is the first and foremost important need for spiritual stability. Belief in God includes belief in His attributes, His angels, His books, the Day of Judgment, the Heaven and Hell and belief that - all good and bad is within His reach. Without true belief, neither our prayer, nor charity, nor fasting nor pilgrimage will be accepted. The essence of belief is to rid ourselves of all false gods around us, or within us, and to worship no one except God alone. B. Salat: There are three health aspects of Salat: I. Wudu: Washing all the exposed areas of the body, hand, feet, face, mouth, nostrils etc. 5 times a day is a healthy preventive procedure. Washing of the hand is being emphasized more and more in hospitals now in order to prevent the spread of germs. However, non-Muslims did not know that Washing of the hand is so important - it has been ordered in Quran (5:7) over 1400 years ago. And for complete cleanliness bathing is advised (4:43). 2. Recitation of Quran: This has a healing effect on the body, mind and heart. These healing effects are due to the effect of sound (echo) and the meaning. "O Mankind: There has come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (disease) in your hearts - and for those who believe a guidance and mercy!" (Quran 10:57 "And We sent down in the Quran that which is healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss". (Quran 17:82). The movements in Salat are mild, uniform, and involve all muscles and joints. The caloric output is desired to keep the energy balance. C: Zakat (Charity): The word itself means purification and growth. Here it is meant to imply the purification of legitimately earned wealth. Many of our crimes are committed with money or for the love of money, and in the love of money one becomes violent in behavior. "And he is violent in his love of wealth" (Quran 100: .In Islam the ownership of wealth belongs to God. We are the disposers of that trust. Therefore, this concept establishes peace at heart and our behavior in the loss of money or unusual gain. In either way, we thank God. D. Sawm: The Islamic fasting: Islamic fasting is prescribed as way training of our mind, and body in self-restraints. "O you who believe fasting is prescribed to you, as it was prescribed to those before you, so that you can learn self-restraint." (Quran 2:183). Therefore, during the period of fast one may not only get rid of nibbling food, coffee, smoking but also of anger and excessive sexual passion. In fact, the fast not only gives rest to the stomach but also stabilizes the secretion of hormones which control our behavior. E. Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah): The moral is Prophet lbrahim (peace be upon him)'s submission and absolute surrender to God's will, the opportunity for repentance, and the social and political gathering of the Ummah depicting brotherhood and equality. However, this can be used for programming and testing us for physical endurance, a requirement for all able men and women. The long walks, the heat, the sun, the thirst, the physical exercise, etc. is to remind us of the Day of Judgment. We should perform Hajj when we are young and physically well rather than wait for old age. We should keep ourselves in good shape before and after the Hajj. After describing the pillars of faith as a basis for the spiritual health, let us talk about the maintenance of the physical structure in which the spirit resides. (A) Nutrition: Allah loves His creations so much that He is concerned even with what we eat and put in our body. Our muscles, bones, lungs, liver, brain and secretions are made from the raw product we feed it. If we provide the factory with junk raw products, the factory will not produce tough bones, strong muscles, good pump (heart) and clean pipes (vessels). "O mankind: Eat of what is lawful and good on earth" (Quran 2: 168). Forbidden to us are dead meat, blood and flesh of swine (see Quran 5:3) and intoxicants (Quran 5:91, 92, and 2:219). Science so far has not confirmed any beneficial effects to the prohibitions. The blood and meat of the dead could be full of germs and other harmful elements like antibodies. Pork meat is high in cholesterol, salt and may have worms, and alcohol and other intoxicants that cloud our mentation, our inhibition and interfere with our normal capacity of judging good and bad. Therefore, a person under the influence of alcohol may want to take off his dress, engage in unlawful sexual acts, become violent and abusive without even knowing what he is doing. On medical damages due to alcohol, whole books have been written. The second component in nutrition (after permission of the lawful and probation of the unlawful) is the moderation in the lawful. Obesity is a major problem around the world now, a form of malnutrition, affecting millions of people in Somalia, Chad and Niger amongst other nations around the world, of all age. Ninety-nine percent of obesity is due to overeating. Allah advises as to be moderate in quantity. "But waste not by excess for God loves not the wasters" (Quran 7:31). "Eat of the good things we have provided for your sustenance, but commit no excess therein, lest my wrath should justly descend on you, and those on whom descends my wrath do perish indeed" (Quran 20:81). According to one Hadith of Prophet Mohammed we are advised to leave one third of our stomach empty after finishing the meal. Certain types of food i.e. fruits are especially emphasized in Quran (36:57, 43:73, 16:67) "And from the fruits of date palm and grapes you get wholesome drink and nutrition: Behold in this is a sign for those who are wise" (Quran 16:67). Fruits are low in calorie, high in vitamins and minerals, and fiber and sugar is fructose and not sucrose. Honey is fructose. Which is a very important need for our body system. (B) Cleanliness: Allah is pure and likes purity. He is clean and likes cleanliness. Therefore, cleanliness of body and mind is stressed in Quran (4:43). Miswak (brushing teeth) is not a new invention of last 200 years. This was stressed as part of our daily routine by Prophet Mohammed. He also advised us on flossing (Khilal) as is now being advised by the entire dentist. In fact, he is known to have said that if it was not a hardship for Muslims, he would have advised using Miswak before each prayer i.e. five times a day. Cleanliness of our mind is prerequisite for total cleanliness (body and mind). (C) The Value of exercise in maintaining health Though we do not find much in Quran about specific exercise, or recommendation. The Prophet used to work with his hands whether at home, in the kitchen, or with his companions collecting wood for fire, fighting during wars etc. It is a pity that Muslim men and women have become sedentary and, because of the excessive consumption of starches, obesity has crept into them. We should keep ourselves fit to go for Jihad and feel healthy in peacetime. The State of disease Many of the common chronic illnesses (i.e. coronary heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, peptic ulcer disease, obesity and depression) also have a common man-made etiology that is rich food, too much food, too much salt, too much sugar, smoking, stress and alcoholism. If we give up excessive salt, sugar and cholesterol from our diet, and do not drink and smoke, and stay active, it is possible that the pump (the heart) won't be rusted from inside. What should a Muslim do when disease is confirmed? A. Accept it as a will of God as Kaffara for his sin, and ask him to remove the affliction. "And if God touches thee with affliction, none can remove it but He: if He touches thee with happiness He has power over all things." (Quran 6:17). B. Many Muslims won't seek early medical attention, contrary to the Prophet's practice and teaching. Usamah Bin Shareek (may Allah be pleased with him) reports "I was with the Prophet and some Arabs came to him asking "O Messenger of Allah, do we take medicine for any disease." He said, "Yes, O You servants of Allah take medicine as Allah has not created a disease without creating a cure except for one. They asked which one, he replied old age'. C. Increase your knowledge of health and disease, of medications and side effects. This knowledge is not the monopoly of doctors. You can have it and use it in preventing the illness, recognizing it early when symptoms appear, seeking early medical attention, then monitoring the course of the disease, implementing the treatment (i.e. knowledge of diet for diabetics) and recognizing side effects of the medicine. In summary, our healthy body is a gift from God. We are the trustees. We should not misuse it, nor provide wrong raw products for the factory and we should keep superb maintenance of this delicate and sensitive machine, in order to enjoy it. It is the container of our soul. Others are, SLEEPING POSITION ACCORDING TO ISLAM The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) ordered us not to sleep on our bellies (face down). Abu Dawood reported from Yaesh that Takhfa al-Ghafari said: “My father said ‘while I was lying on my belly in the mosque I felt a person moving me with his foot saying: “Allah hates this way of lying down” I looked up to find out that (the man who was speaking) was the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam)” . Some scholars state that it is dislikable to sleep on the belly. Al-Tirmizi also reported from Abu Hurairah that he said: “The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) saw a man lying on his belly he said to him: Allah does not like this form of lying down” . Ibn Majah reported from Abu Zar : “This is the way in which the dwellers of Hell-fire lie down” . Ibn al-Qayyim said while talking about the medicine of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.): ‘The best is to lie on the right side as this makes the food rest more comfortably in the stomach because the latter is inclined to the left. Then it is better to change to the left side as this makes the food get digested more quickly. But most sleeping should be on the right side… And it is bad to sleep on the back. But it is worse to sleep face down on the belly’ . So, sleeping on the belly is dislikable and can be harmful to health. SCIENTIFIC facts: It’s best to sleep on your right side, because your liver is your heaviest organ and if you sleep on your left then it will cause you discomfort, because it’s squishing your stomach. Sleeping on the right/ left side with the hand under the cheek: 1. organizes the heart pulses. 2. permits the sleeper / asleep person to breath in very natural, perfect way. But who sleeps on his tummy, suffers the following: 1. temporal dyspnea 2. his neck’s vertebra get harmed and will have pains on the long term. Health benefits of Salat Different postures of Salat. In every posture there are certain health benefits, for example, bowing position tones stomach muscles, abdomen and kidneys and the spine becomes supple and flexible, while the spinal nerves are nourished. In doing Sujud, there is less chance of getting headache, spasms, aches, etc. due to the fact that the electrostatic charges are dissipated and discharged.SALAT has been made compulsory on all believers in all situations. It is an activity which cannot be neglected under any circumstance. This obligation on us should not be regarded as a burden, but rather it should be cherished and appreciated. The Arabic word “Salah,” doesn’t only mean “prayer,” because “pray” basically means to address a prayer to God or another deity, according to the Oxford dictionary. “Salah,” is a word with a broad meaning, which doesn’t only mean prayer, but also means goodness, righteousness and godliness. In Salah, we not only ask from Allah but we also thank Him, praise Him and at the same time receive guidance from Him. Besides attaining spiritual upliftment from performing one’s Salat, one may also gain many physical and psychological benefits. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is recorded in a Hadith (Ibn Majah) stating that prayer is a cure for many diseases. The wisdom in this claim can be understood when assessing the physical benefits of the act of prayer. The process of performing Salat expects certain movements and actions, these actions performed at least five times a day have been found to equate to jogging or walking at a rate of three miles an hour. This is a basic level of exercise strongly advocated by doctors and members of the medical fraternity on a whole. Before we delve into a detailed discussion, it needs to be noted that the purpose of performing Salat should not be to obtain health benefits, but rather to fulfill a religious requirement. The fact that there are physical benefits associated with prayer comes as a blessing. Daily, the human beings are propounded by electrostatic charges from the atmosphere, which exudes perspiration in the central nervous system which gets super-saturated. These extra electrostatic charges have to be dissipated and discharged, otherwise resulting in headache, neck ache, muscles spasms, etc. No wonder people regularly take tranquillizers and drugs to relieve the pain. These electrostatic charges are dissipated and discharged when the frontal lobe of the brain is put on the ground, in Sujud. Also, it allows mental toxins to be cleaned by blood. This is also very good for the brain. This prevents diseases such as: Fibromyalgia (Fibrositis) and chilblains. During the Sujud, there is drainage of the paranasal sinuses, thus there are less chances of getting sinusitis which consists of inflammation of the linings of the sinuses that surround the nose. In certain forms of yoga, some adherents stand on their heads for the purpose of blood flowing to the brain, which we Muslims have been doing for centuries. This are Many others too numerous to mention are reasons to proof that Truly ISLAM is the PREFECT Religion for all Humanity as it has been Perfected by ALLAH over 2 million years ago. May Allah continue to guide our paths aright. Curled From - Naija Muslims Platform www.naijamuslims.org Facebook - Naija Muslims Platform Twitter - @naijamuslims |

Why are you all trying to be too hard on the poster? I think hejust shared his experience at the bank and also want to make the forum lively. @Poster,this is a very critical thread you started but you are ABSOLUTELY ON POINT. Some people send messages on BB and you are like; did this fellow actually even passed WAEC with a D7 in English Language. I will put the blames on the Educational System in Nigeria today as well as parents. People no longer value education in Nigeria. TOPIC : HALAL AND HARAM (Permitted and non Permitted acts). When we talk of halah (non forbidden) and haram (forbidden) we will not only be talking of the edible things such as meat, drink, etc. But also those things we earn either through our salary, wages and instrest ( not profit). A lot of us have totally ignored what Allah has permitted and forbidden for our daily, monthly, or yearly earnings. And as such feel it is okay to consume whatever comes our way just because the society of today permits almost anything (both legal and illegal). That why we find it in our society that it is actually does that earn their income on the fast lane (I.e fraud, embezzlement, bribery, prostitution, etc) that praises are showered on once they can afford an extravagance lifestyle. We tend to term them "big boy" or "big girl". Allah has made it clear in the Holy Quran what is acceptable and what He has forbidden for us. O mankind! Eat from that which is lawful and good on earth, and follow not the footsteps of shaitan. Verily he is to you and open enemy. (Q2:168) He has forbidden you only the maitah (dead animals), and blood, and the flesh os swine, and that which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah. But if one is forced by necessity without willful disobedience nor transgressing due limits, then there is no sin on him. Allah is oft-Forgiving. Most Merciful. (Q2:173) And to those who are jews, We forbade evey (animal) with undivided hoof, and We forbade them the fat of the ox and the sheep except what adheres to their back or their entrails, or mixed up with bone. Thus We recompensed them for their rebellion (committing crimes like murdering the prophets and eating of Riba (usery). And verily, We are Truthful. Those who eat Riba (usury) will not stand (on the day of resurrection) except like the standing of a person beaten by shaitan leading him to insanity. That is because the say: "trading is only like Riba (usury)," whereas Allah has permitted trading and forbidden Riba. So whosoever receives admonition from his Lord and stops eating Riba shall not be punished for the past; his case is for Allah (to judge),but who ever returns (to riba) such are the dwellers of the fire- they will abide therein forever. (Q2:272) Allah will destroy Riba (usury) and will give increase for sadaqat (deeds of charity, alms, etc). And Allah likes not the disbelievers, sinners. (Q2:276) O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah and give up what remains (due to you) from riba (usury) (from now onward), if you are (really) believers.(Q2:278). And if you do not do it, then take a notice of war from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you shall have your capital sums. Deal not unjustly (by asking more than your capital sums), and you shall not be dealt with unjustly (by receiving less than your capital sum). (Q2:279). And if the debtor is in a has time (has no money) then grant him time till it is easy for him to repay, but if you remit it by way of charity that is better for you if you did but know. (Q2:280) O you who believe! Eat not Riba (usury) doubled or multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be successful. (Q3:130) And their taking of Riba (usury) though they were forbidden from taking it and their devouring of men's substance wrongfully (bribery). And We have prepared for the disbelievers among them a painful torment (Q4:161) And that which you give in gift (to others), in order that it may increase (your wealth by expecting to get a better on in return) from other people's property, has no increase with Allah, but that which you give in zakat, sadaqah, charity seeking Allah's Countenance, then those, they shall have manifold increase. (Q30:39). They ask you (O Muhammed) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: "in them is a great sin, and (some) benefits for men. But the sin of them is greater than their benefits." And they ask you what they ough to spend. Say: "That which is beyond your needs." Thus Allah makes clear to you His Laws in order that you may give thought. (Q2:219) O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al-ansab, and Al-Azlam(arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of shaitan's handiwork. So avoid them in other that you may be successful. (Q5:90) We as a person might not be directly involved with the above, but we are also guilty if we earn our salary from companies and offices which do, example are does who work in banks (where usury is what sustains the bank), breweries (were alcoholic drinks which intoxicate people are produced), lotto houses / agencies (where the lottery materials and operations are carried out), as well as hotels, motels and brothels (where the above and many other haram acts takes place). We know the economy is bad and people are desperate to get a job of any kind (even if it violates the injunction of Allah) out of the fear of hunger and wants. But Allah has made it clear in so many verses of the Quran that those who put their trust in Him Alone, He will never let them down. He has promised that who so ever comes to Him seeking for Help, He shall Help. The main cause why people live, earn, and sleep in haram is that we mostly are very impatient for Allah's help to come our way. Some individuals "waste" their entire life in worshipping and doing deeds that Allah has frowned at (though He Alone knows whom He will Forgive) because the entire foodstuffs they eat and give as charity during the Holy month of Ramadan, the Zakat they pay, the Hajj payment for themselves and others, the Sadaqah they give and every other "supposed good deeds" where all gotten from haram means Allah has forbidden us from pertaking in. Will such people say their prayers weren't accepted or the deeds wasn't multiplied? Yes they would! But if only they pickup the Quran and read through, then they will know were there purnishment( rather than blessings) is coming from. The kind policeman who feeds his family from bribe he collected, the God fearing accountant who only gave that lone because of the high intrest he is expecting, the honest brewer, the religious doctor who doesn't miss his 5 daily salat but yet earns most of his incomes from D and C, the responsible husband who is an addicted gambler; all these individuals are "near perfect" in the sight of man, but have been forbidden paradise from Allah (except of course He forgives them). Let's ensure to always seek for Allahs Guidiance and Protection. May we never find ourselves in situation where we will have to settle for what is of shaytan and his accomplice out of hunger or desperation. May Allah guide our path aright and make us amongst the dwellers of Al-Jannah. Ameen. Curled From www.naijamuslims.org Twitter - @naijamuslims Facebook - Naija Muslims Platform BB Group - 23517DAE |
A DOUBLE EDGE SWORD. (When revenge becomes inevitable). Banke (not real name) is a very pretty and intelligent young lady now in her mid 20s. Being the first child in the family with four younger ones. Banke lost her dad to armed robbers gun shots while she was only 11years and in her JSS 2. Ever since then, Banke's mum has been the one carrying the responsibilities of the entire household. Banke's father's family never supported her mum in the upkeep of the children because they were never in support of her father marrying her mother due to ethnic and cultural differences. Banke gained admission into a Federal University in the Northern part of Nigeria to study Accounting at the age of 15. While in school, Banke was not only the youngest in her class but also amongst the top students. This earned her the admiration of lectures and male students and also the envy of most female students. In school, Banke felt more comfortable studying and relating to male students than her female counterparts. It was for this reason she became very attached to Abdulahi, a fellow course mate of hers but who was a level ahead of her. Banke went to Abdulalhi for tutorials, handouts and assignments. Abdulahi who was a very popular young man on campus due to his influential father (who was a highly placed politician and consultant to so many federal ministries and parastatals) was very humble, quiet and intelligent student. His peers found it hard to believe that even with his elite background he could still take his academics so seriously. While in school, Abdulilahi fell in love with Banke and made his intentions known to her on one of the nights while reading in the school library. Banke still being a very young and timid girl made her fears known to Abdulahi that even though she knows she has feelings for him, she felt she was too young to get into a relationship as this would affect her academics and general life if things didn't go well in the relationship. Abdulahi being a God fearing young man assured Banke that he understood her plight and fears and promised to stick to her in all aspects of her life which included financial and moral support to prove his genuine love to her. Banke thanked him and promised him she will never let him down. From that day, Abdulahi took full responsibility of Banke's upkeep from her School fees, handouts, feeding and even allowance and sent a whooping N550,000 to Banke's mum to reinvest in her trade and settle some domestic expenses. When Banke's mum made her fears known on why she doesn't want the money because she doesn't know the source of the money, Abdulahi opened up to her that he has informed his parents of Banke's situation and they have promised to assist him in supporting Banke in whatever means possible. Banke and her mum travelled down on one occasion to Abdulahi's family home to go and thank his parents for their assistance. And it was on this occasion that Abdulahi proposed marriage to Banke who was only 17years then. Banke accepted to marry Abdulahi on the condition that the Nikah and other rites will be done only after she graduated from the university. They both secretly agreed that Banke also should remain a virgin until on their wedding night. Banke and Abdulahi became the envy of all on campus as they openly displayed their love and affection for all to see. Soon afterwards, Abdulahi graduated from the univeristy with a 1st class honours in his department and immediately got a scholarship from an International Oil firm to proceed on his Masters to the United States. While his fellow students were going for the mandatory NYSC, Abdulahi was already on his way to start his Masters degree in one of the best Universities in America. This gave Both Abdulahi, Banke and their families great joy that a lavish party was given to Abdulahi before his departure. It was on this night both Abdulahi and Banke went into a convenant that they will not date or sleep with any other person while apart for the while Abdulahi will be going for his studies abroad. The love between Abdulahi and Banke grew stronger by the day as they both got intouch through phone calls, text messages and e.mails at every slightest available time they had. They were both so proud of each other that every single person Abdulahi met, heard stories about Banke and vice versa. Exactly a year after, Banke also graduated from school but this time with a 2nd class upper division. This made her cry for days as she had promised Abdulahi and her mum she would also be a 1st class product just like her husband to be. Abdulahi consoled her at every moment and comforted her by letting her know she shouldn't bother much because she was just a level away from being an ACCA (an international accounting professional body)Professional, and a member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN - a chatered professional body in Nigeria). And as such won't find it difficult achieving her goals in a short while because she was almost both a professional Accountant and a taxation expert. That same year Banke went for the mandatory NYSC and was posted to a bank with the influence of Abdulahi's dad. After her NYSC, Banke was retained in the bank and was immediately promoted twice within a very short period owning to the fact that she was already a professional in Accounting and Taxation as well as the influence Abdulahi's dad had on the Bank's executives. After the completion of Abdulahi's Master degree, the Oil firm offered him a job and Scholarship for his Ph.D degree. This Abdulahi did not resist even though Banke made her intentions known that she was already missing him seriously and wanted him to come back so they can finalize their wedding plans. He pleaded with her to just be a little patient as he will only be away for a year and a half and that after he had completed his Ph.D program, he will return home immediately. 7 months later, Banke's bank went into a merger/acquisation talks with a bigger bank due to CBN's regulations. Only that this time her bank was acquired by the bigger bank which saw so many staff losing their jobs which included Banke. She cried day and night for several weeks because she felt she didn't deserve such after she had put in so much effort into the bank and moreover she was more qualified than most people who scaled through. Exactly a month after the incidence, Abdulahi's dad offered her a job to be a senior consultant in his firm. Though the job will entail lots of travel, Banke didn't mind because her fiance was not in town and due to the fact she was working under her father inlaw to be. Banke was offered a salary and allowance tripple her previous salary at the bank and double what was offered to most of the present top exceutives at her present work place. This made many people both male and female upset and envious but owning to the fact it was an open secret Banke was the wife to be to the son of the Company's chairman, no one could object to it. Banke saw her job schedule taking her regularly to the 36 states of the country, the federal capital and some other African countries were her company had clients. She loved her job so only it was a little hectic in nature. But she always consoled herself that she was not only being 'over paid' above the industry's pay level but also a part of the family and as such the need to put in an extra effort without complaining. On this particular occasion, Banke's Firm got the contract by the Federal government to go and audit the account of a federal parastal which has been found guilty of corruption charges by the National Assembly. This saw Banke and her team traveling to over 8 states of the country to get evidences, files and reports for their duties. A day before the company's final report submission to the presidency, it was agreed by executives of the company that Abdulahi's dad being the chairman of the company and the most professional amongst the entire company staff should be the one to head the team in submitting the report to the presidency as he was in the best position to answer any technical question members of the presidency might throw at them. That afternoon, Abdulhai's dad flew into the Federal Capital to meet with his team and asses the level of work done so far. He was totally impressed at what he saw but pointed out loopholes he noticed in the report and needed them to trash it out. This saw all members working till very late at night. When they had worked till 1am, the chairman permitted everyone to go to bed as they needed to get up early to finalize the report and go for their submission. It was while everyone was leaving, the chairman asked Banke to stay behind. He told Banke how grateful he was to her contribution to the development of the company and that Abdulahi his son was the luckiest man on earth to have found such a wonderful lady as Banke. After nearly half an hour conversation between them both, he offered to walk Banke to her hotel door so that she can retire for the night while he returns to his room. On getting to the front of Banke's room door, the chairman complained of having a slight migraine and asked Banke if she had any pain reliever, Banke answered in the affirmative and suggested he comes it so she can get him water and the drugs. While Banke was searching for the drugs in a handbag, her Chairman grabbed her from behind and started romancing her. Banke pleaded, cried, threatened and rain abuses on him but this fell on a deaf ears. He soon over powered her with his masculine strength and within a few minutes, Banke was rapped by the father of the only man she has truly loved and cared for. A man she looked up to as a father figure and the man who brought light into her eyes after years of darkness. After realizing what he has done, Abdulahi's dad left the room with shame and guilt leaving Banke all alone to her fate. That night Banke spent the entire night soaked in her own tears, as she kept remembering the promises she made to Abdulahi, the good times they spent together and how she had always wanted to know only how the body of her husband to be felt and not that of another man. In the morning of the presentation, Banke was visbly absent and when members inquired for reasons to her absence, the chairman fed them with the tales that she complained of a serious migraine and he gave her permission to take a rest for the day. After a very successful report presentation by the team to the presidency, every member returned to their hotel in a happy mood. On getting to Banke's hotel room having made several knocks at her door with no response, Abdulahi's dad was informed by a butler that Banke had left him a letter at the hotel reception. When the letter was handed over to The chairman, in it was a short letter of Banke displaying her hatred and regret of ever coming across or knowing him. Attached was also her resignation letter from the company. Weeks after Banke resigned and totally avoided her chairman and other members of the company, she fell ill and went to the hospital for medical checkup. Several test were carried out on her and drugs given to her. When Banke returned to the hospital to pickup her test results, Banke was invited into the doctor's office and was informed of her test result which showed that she was two weeks pregnant. Banke was in total shock and dismay. She insisted she needed an abortion carried on her. After much pleas and persuation, the abortion was carried on her and soon she becsme more confused. Weeks turned into months and Banke remained in a dark clowd of hers, crying every single day without informing Abdulahi or any other member of her family about the incident. 8 months later, a few weeks to Abdulahi's return into the country from his work and study in the United States to finalize their wedding arrangements, Banke fell ill again only this time when the doctor was announcing the result to her, it was with great sadness as he informed Banke that she was HIV Positive. At that moment, Banke knew her world was totally crushed, with all hopes of having a better life crumbling right in front of her very own eyes. She left the clinic without a word only this time replaying the good, bad, and horrible moments of her life. Remembering how her mummy went into petty trading to see her and her siblings through school, how she gained admission in a far away state with her mother believing in her that she was never going to dissapoint her, how she met Abdulahi who wiped away all her tears and returned sunshine into her life and that of her family, how she put in her very best in Abdulahi's father's company. This and many more flowed through me memory. minutes turned into hours, and hours to days and days to weeks with the hatred Banke has for Abdulahi's father growing by the second. With less than a week to Abdulahi returning to the country, Banke has concluded she was also going to pass the HIV virus unto Abdulahi too, as she is undoubtedly sure she contracted it through Abdulahi's father as no other man has ever touched her aside that rape incidence. She has promised not to go down alone as she will also bring tears and sorrows unto Abdulahi's family just like the one her family is about to face when she breaks the sad news to them. Being in Banke's shoes (God Forbid) do you think this is a good decision she is about to take or will you advice her to do otherwise. Your contribution will go a long way in saving a life in the person of Abdulahi and a comforting a chattered heart in Banke. Curled From - www.naijamuslims.org |
THE FEAR OF THE UNKOWN. ---------------------------------------- Ladi (Not Real name) is in her mid 30s. A lady from a very good family background were her parents provided her with all the basic needs of life and a little extra luxury. Ladi went to a Federal University (one of the very best in the country). As a girl coming from a God fearing and well brought up home, flirting and socializing wasn't her thing. While she was in her 2nd year at the University, Ladi stayed on campus and as such had different people from different background as room mates and friends. She finally settled with two girls folake and Ijeoma to be her friends. Who could stroll around campus together when not attending lectures and have fun generally. As time went by, Ladi and the two other girls (Folake and Ijeoma)became so close that they discussed indept and very personal issues. On one occasion, Ladi opened up to the girls that she was still pure as she hadn't gone intimate with any man before. Both girls laughed and mocked her making it look like it was a crime for a lady to be a virgin at 22years. After that incident, the two girls kept on putting pressure on Ladi to get a boy friend and attend parties just like they did. As weeks turned into months, Ladi gave in to peer pressure and got a boy friend on campus. With having a boyfriend and also going further to have a number of older men as boyfriends (Aristo) due to the pressure by her friends to experience the aristo game. Before graduation, Ladi had dated up to 5 married men even though she wasn't following the men because of financial gains as she was from a very comfortable home. She was doing it only to 'belong' among. 6 years after graduation, Ladi gets married and have two beautiful children for her widower husband who is about 15years older than her. She is still very comfortable as her husband is very wealthy and an important personality in the society. He provides her with expensive jewelries, latest cars, fat monthly account deposits and many more comfort that will make other ladies green with envy. Today, Lady's greatest nightmare is that her husband follows everything and anything in skirts and doesn't even try to hide it from her anymore. She has fought, threatened, quarreled, reported him to his family and friends, all to no avail. He seem to be unshaken about his flirticious attitude. Everyday Ladi wakes up with a heavy heart and fear that one day her husband will bring another woman into the house as a second wife or get one of those numerous girls pregnant. Could it be that Ladi's problems is as a repercussion of her actions in. School when she was following married men? Whatever the reason is, one thing is certain that "what goes around sure comes around". In what ever we do, let's always remember the LAW OF KARMA. The law of karma has never failed for once. Either in your favour or against you. One thing is very certain, we should only threat others the way we want to be threated (open or hidden)either now or in the nearest future. (*strolls in and shakes head*) I swear it will be a miracle for Nigeria to stand as a Nation by 2020. Reading through most of the posters contributions (Except beaf, the natural buff-on and a few others), you will notice the post are coming from highly educated, well vast and up-to-date individuals. When did things start to deteriorate so bad that people now put their village first before their state, and their state first before their country. Even the oil revenue funds we are all fighting for, the so called governors of each state just embezzle the whole thing without using it for things to benefit the masses. I think it is high time we reasonable youths (leaving out dulla-rds like beaf and his kind) come together to chat the way forward to see that Nigeria doesn't come to its total collapse. it might seems all smooth and funny now tackling ourselves but the scars and regrets of a split up will remain forever. Lets remember that "United we stand, Divided we fall". We shouldn't allow those greedy politicians and traditional leaders brainwash us. A sovereign national conference should be addressed once and for all and let's know where we have gone wrong and how to correct our mistakes. When anything bad is caught or addressed against a Nigerian, we defend it if the perpetrator is from our region and condemn the act totally if we find out the person is from another ethnic group. Let's us all think critically, because even if Nigeria splits, that wont make the ijaw man being friends with the urobho/itsekiri, or the fula/nupe man being friends with the hausa, or the ibibio being friends with the efik. A solution to these whole ethnic battering lies in the hands of we youths. |

Dyt: dabrake: odiaero:I have noticed the stu-pidity of most posters on this forum. Once the first per or objection, son to respond to a thread is on the affirmative or objection, then the next posters that follows trail that path. Until of course someone else goes against the previous posters then the next set follow suit. Why can't people be independent minded in their thoughts. For those in doubt why can't your google the story instead of displaying your mor-oonic traits by posting nonsense. |

If our politicians can start acting this honorably the way Egwavuan has done, then I think Nigeria will been a whole lot better in the nearest possible time. It is only in Africa you find our people fail and don't perform yet they hold on to the position like it is their birth rite. This year alone we saw leaders of Japan, Greece and even Italy step down when they couldn't meet the demands of their people. A good one for Egwavuan. But I still think the entire NFF board should all resign, because these whole coaches can't be so terrible (as most of them have had wonderful track records in the past. I.e; Siasia). There is something absolutely wrong (physical or spiritual) in that Glass house. Nigerians should force ALL of them to resign. Let's start our reforms of this great country Nigeria on them. Football is the only thing that keep Nigerians going, and since we have lost it, then what next? SO SAD! |
