Politics / Re: Gov. Rotimi Amaechi's Victory Speech! by koruji(m): 4:37am On May 25, 2013 |
Simple answer is No. GEJ is simply realizing that he must pipe down seriously with all this arrogant animal farm tactics he is employing. Power is transient. If you lack the ability to make the situation better, stop making it worse by behaving like some overlord. As if the president does not have earth-shaking issues to deal with in Nigeria, he keeps putting his hands in every pie - all in a bid to retain power in 2015. jeffizy: Did Gov.Amaechi's passive humiliation by the presidency play a major role in swaying the votes in his favor? 3 Likes |

Islam for Muslims / Re: Things Muslim Communities Can Do To Curb Extremism by koruji(m): 2:50pm On May 24, 2013 |
I must commend your write-up. This discussion is needed within the muslim community. Action must follow to sanitize the system of what you called "harmless extremism" below. These extreme radicals have taken their belief beyond humanity. It is not really the killing in London today that would shock the world so much as the complete display of any iota of human dignity of those who butchered another human being calmly in open view, and waited for the police to arrive. I would certainly like justice if one of my family members were killed unjustly, but WOULD for the sake of my own humanity refuse to butcher another human being like these animals did - even if that were the only way to get justice. It would be better to not get justice than to debase oneself, one's religion and one's God like this. Bsmartt: please let us discuss this as Muslims and well meaning Nigerians.peace |

That is not the issue - GEJ said those structures will be preserved, but was being economical with the truth. dragunov: . For God's sake! What democratic structure are you guys ranting about? Of what use is a structure, albeit a democracy that cannot guarantee respect for the right to live and thrive in a peaceful environment? Are you saying that democracy has now become a god who must be satiated with the blood of the innocent? Are you saying Nigeria and Nigerians must harbour and or tolerate this banal criminality as characterized by the activities of BH all because some useless democracy has to be nutured? Why don't we talk about justice; afterall he who lives by the sword must surely die by it. |

There is no good that these hacks will not attempt to twist for their own ends. Even by your mouth you acknowledge he is transforming infrastructure to 21st century standards. An honest broker would write such a man about any area that needs attention. He can't think about it all - but as a performer he would be eager to listen to honest ideas to move the state forward. Your write-up tells you the source of the problem. This lunatic imbibed an ideology of hate - a radical form of Islam. He not only sullied the name of moderate muslims, but is now sullying the name of Nigerians, Yorubas, Blacks, etc. Moderate muslims need to expose the radicals among them to the authorities, rather than wait for them to behave like animals that they are and then jump in front of cameras to distinguish themselves from the evil and vile, drug-induced thugs, who claim to be worshiping God. Ricky_Ross: I once told someone that all Muslims have the same mentality and the person didn't believe me. From what we have gathered so far, this guy is a Yoruba guy eventhough he may be born in UK but his parents are Nigerians of Yoruba origin. In that regard, I want to know what prompted this guy to act like this? It will be more understandable if he came from Northern Nigeria. Dont get me wrong I love people from all tribes and cultures but this guys action is going to affect ALL Nigerians. I just wished he is not a Nigerian. 1 Like |

Always full of it. What backlash? The belated action GEJ is taking now is because of the challenge mounted to him by Tinubu and co. A president who could have contained BH a long time ago, rather short-sightedly kept talking from the 4 compass points of his mouth - until he saw a credible threat to his political future. What a president? But I hope he knows what he is doing this time and succeeds in finishing off BH once and for all. For the sake of Nigeria. Wish you could learn from how Tinubu is suddenly quite after the backlash from Nigerians over his incredible bias! |

Get off your foolish horse. ACN has been right a hundred times while GEJ slept on duty as 1000s of innocent lives were wasted by BH. But for the serious challenge to GEJ's misrule by ACN/Tinubu GEJ would have simply continued his "I don't give a damn" attitude and continue travelling around the world pretending that his country is not going down in flames. Speak for yourself. GEJ disappointed me but that doesn't mean I wish my country to go the way of Afghanistan. Paying attention to useless praise-singers that tellignoble lies is what led GEJ into this morass in the first place. When u slaughter truth, you also slaughter success. PapaBrowne: |
Politics / Re: Your Assessement Of The SOE: Sucess Or Failure by koruji(m): 4:22pm On May 19, 2013 |
This is really kind of silly - if it were that easy to crush BH it would be a crime for GEJ not to have done it sooner. Serious military operations cannot be easily assessed for success or failure in a matter of days. The success or not would need to be assessed AFTER the operations have ended and we are BH free for several months to a year. There are those whose only benefit from containing BH is a political badge - for those I say you might regret this bitterly when it blows up in your wicked faces. Idokojimmy: The state of emergency is about four days old with military campaigns and raids in Boko Haram camps. Reports indicate that over 65 confirm insurgents have been arrested, many others are in custody undergoing interrogations to establish their culpability or otherwise. Also, arms and ammunitions have been allegedly recovered including cash purportedly stolen from banks. In Ur own opinion, has the SOE faired very well? Or is there something the STF should do or refrain from doing? |
Politics / Re: FG May Extend Emergency Rule To Bauchi, Gombe, Katsina And Jigawa States by koruji(m): 4:14pm On May 19, 2013 |
This is the frustration with GEJ's government - taking actions and talking without thinking ahead. Before you start hammering at an army of wacka-a-moles their potential egress routes should be secured That way, when you go in to smash their camps and they predictably attempt get out they would be running into the open arms of blazing guns. Otherwise, you simply end up making the problem far worse. Please secure downstream states before going into other states to smash camps - otherwise that emergency would soon reach 36 states !!! Don Demu: The Federal Government, pushed to the wall by activities of the Boko Haram sect that has caused heightened insecurity in the country, has vowed to crush to extinction every bit of terrorist element in the north sequel to its declaration of emergency rule in three northeast states. |

Politics / Re: Boko Haram Sponsors - Local And Foreign by koruji(m): 4:44am On May 19, 2013 |
When you don't know the end-game of your enemy you will keep searching for phantom roots. For the upteenth time their founder was trained in the terrorists camps of Afghanistan. When he came to Nigeria he set up his own camp and named it "Afghanistan" - all while our FG was sleeping on duty. Their fundamental objective is to create a narco-religious state like their mentors the Taliban-cum-al qaeda. BH is primarily part of a dangerous global phenomenon, which takes on local colorations whereever it is allowed to take root. As the northern elite is finding out, these are mad dogs, that would gladly help you chew up your enemies and then have you for dessert. Stop looking looking for their sponsors - that network is way greater than Nigeria. What GEJ should have done, and hopefully he is doing at this late date is to block their entry and exit in Nigeria, create a barrier against uninfected parts of Nigeria, corner them and pummel them to death. This is not a war you fight with knee-jerk reactions or that you declare victory a mere 72 hours after the beginning of a major assault. These are people committed to DYING and have modern training on how to take as many lives as possible before they meet death. Politics / Re: "The Nigerian Disease" - Prof. Wole Soyinka by koruji(m): 4:08am On May 19, 2013 |
Baba Kogi has spoken. shymexx: "Nigerian disease: Nigerians need to be purged of a certain kind of arrogance of expectations, of demand, of self-attribution, of a spurious sense and assertion of entitlement. It goes beyond art and literature. It covers all aspects of interaction with others. Wherever you witness a case of ‘It’s MINE, and no other’s’, ‘it’s OURS, not theirs’, at various levels of vicarious ownership, such aggressive voices, ninety percent of the time, are bound to be Nigerians. This is a syndrome I have had cause to confront defensively with hundreds of Africans and non-Africans. It is what plagues Nigeria at the moment – it’s MY/OUR turn to rule, and if I/WE cannot, we shall lay waste the terrain. Truth is, predictably, part of the collateral damage on that terrain." - Prof. Wole Soyinka |
Politics / Re: List Of Borno Communities Recovered By Military by koruji(m): 3:59am On May 19, 2013 |
These words smell coming out of you people's mouths. It is only a short-circuited brain that will start giving GEJ glory for taking the state of emergency step at this time. Many of us, even on the ACN side of things, called for a state of emergency a long time ago when a properly applied force would have contained the BH menace. Although a state of emergency is still needed to deal with this situation, what is required now goes far beyond mere application of force. You people have allowed BH to grow into a monster. All these crap you are posting from the safe haven of your offices in front of 40 laptops are just that, crap. Even the greatest army on earth finds it difficult to deal with this kind of groups with finality. That was why it is especially grievous that GEJ slept on the job while this threat turned into a monster. He is declaring a state of emergency now only because he sees is political future under serious and credible threat - that is the long and short of it. We were all here when GEJ set a specific month for the end to Boko Haram. That date came and passed with nothing to show. Why would we believe him now. Because his 40 useless laptops profess victory? Even as the battle is just getting underway? This is a delusional approach that is almost surely to end up blowing up in arrogant faces. If it were that easy to solve the BH problem and GEJ waited this long to do the needful, wasting 1000s of innocent lives in the process, he deserves to be impeached after all is said and done. Still, my prayer is that GEJ actually knows what he is doing this time and succeeds in containing BH - for the sake of lives that are being lost to the animal BH and the incompetent approach by GEJ. It is you and GEJ's business if the only benefit of success to you is political - it shows the kind of people we must avoid mixing with even if this grotesque British apparition called "Nigeria" failed to do the natural i.e. collapse under its own weight of unworkability. thelastPope: The communities which were identified as Boko Haram safe havens and have been taken over by the troops are New Marte, Kirenuwa, Zabamari, Zambiza Forest, Mafa, Baga, Bama, Banki, Woloji, Gulumba, Gamboru-Ngala, Damasak, Malam Fatori, Abadam, Gashigar, Kukawa, Monguno, among others. |

What is GEJ doing commissioning this airport again? He commissioned a 300m meter extension and 15 meter widening of the runway before the 2011 elections. I guess this is the second stage mentioned below, but the airport is not international by any stretch. The project is being executed in two phases. The first phase that was commissioned yesterday involved the asphalting and extension of the runway length from 2400 metres to 3000 metres and the width from 45 metres to 60 metres to enable wide bodied aircraft such as Boeing 747 to use the airport. The cost is N4.1 billion. Change is always strange to the ignorant or do-no-gooders. Which one are you? Gov. Aregbesola is not attempting to create a dependent army of people that leave on peanuts. The real objective was to help the OYES participants acquire better life skills and spirit of community service. So, of course do-no-gooders without ideas will always describe the outcome of such a widely acknowledged scheme in disdainful terms - no surprise there. That the first 20000 were moved on to different jobs was not hidden - those that were not qualified for better jobs were given additional training on different vocational activities.
