Anambra State has a large number of youth demographics. With recent developments in Nigeria, many Anambarians are of the opinion and are pushing to have a younger and a more prepared leader occupying the state's highest political office in the next political dispensation. No doubt, based on current realities, many young people in Nigeria are determined to topple the old structures and processes. The desire to unleash innovative ideas and new perspectives by young people may likely begin with Anambra 2021 Governorship election. However, to achieve this, the truth must be told and alot of facts must be considered. Truths and Facts While there are alot of young Anambarians who may be competent, at this stage of our development, there is more to politics and politicking than just competence. It does not stop at having all the ideas, degrees, qualifications, working in international organisations or even reaching the peak of one's career, it involves strong and serious political party participation, acceptance of the various interest groups and stakeholders, interactive engagements and even late night meetings. A lot of money is also involved with the entrenched system of the high cost of elections, especially in campaign expenses, nomination or expression of interest forms and others. In 2021, Anambrains will be on the look-out for competent young person who fully understand the essence and relevance of leadership and the people. He or she must have at least experience in financial management, business, legal, development and international policies and emotional intelligence among others. The truth remains that any party that champions a young and competent candidate may have an easy ride in the election. In no particular order, these are five (5) Anambra Youths that are possible replacement for the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Obiano Willie Obiano. As confirmed by one of our correspondents, they freed every detained person in the station, burnt some of policemen cars, carted away with some ammunition, seized motorbikes and burnt the premises. The said attack did not start without some violent display by the people that led the attacks. They stormed the premises with guns as they forced their way in despite police presence. It was said to be an unexpected attack as some of the policemen were caught off guard. This to many is a series of many attacks currently going on in the nation. Only a few days back, they were reports of police stations being burnt in Lagos, Aba and Port Harcourt. To many, the #EndSARS campaign is taking a new tow as possible thugs have hijacked the process to unleash violence. Only this morning after last night’s tragedy, our correspondent that went to ascertain the cause and the current state of things, met a huge crowd around the scene of the burnt CPS, as lots of stories are being shared amongst people on what transpired. He took out time to ask questions, went into the place and was shocked at the state of the complex. Everything was burnt to the ground as even the security officials are scared as none was seen wearing their uniforms. Following crisis emanating from ownership of a landed property hit the village, Indigenes of Uruebo village in Nkwelle Ezunaka community of Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State have lamented that over 60 of their youths have remained missing for months. An 89-year-old community leader, Chief Abel Okafor, who was part of the villagers who came out to protest at the village square on Sunday, said three of his sons were also among those missing. Okafor who addressed journalists during the protest said besides the over 60 missing young men from the village, 11 others have been languishing in prison for about six months now, after they were arrested by security agents on the order of a Catholic priest, Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma, who is popularly known as Ebube Muonso, who is also an indigene of the area. Okafor said, “Ebube Muonso brought a combined team of security men to our community, and told them to arrest all the youths in the village. He said youths of the village were planning to kidnap him. “11 young men were arrested for over six months now, and have been languishing in prison. Youths of this community have all fled to unknown destinations, and since then, we have been looking for our children, including three of my sons,” he said. Speaking on the genesis of the crisis, another community leader, Chief Augustine Okadigbo, said Charles Obimma, elder brother to Emmanuel Obimma was elected leader of the village six years ago, and after two mandatory tenures, he refused to handover. “We suspect he want to cling to power because he has been using his influence as the leader of the village to sell off landed properties owned communally. Bars or beer parlour has become the easiest and cheapest route to enter the evening and nightlife entertainment in Nnewi. In the absence of comedy shows, theatre and cinema houses, relaxation centres and parks, bars are enjoying huge patronage in Nnewi. In the last seven (7) months, despite the excruciating effect of Covid-19, there has been astronomical growth in the number of bars in Nnewi. The number of bars that have opened within the period under review triples the existing ones. Almost every weekend, new bars and beer parlours are opened with funfair and live highlife band on stage. Within the Anglican Girls Secondary School axis, down to St. John the Cross Catholic Church, Egbo, in Uruagu Nnewi, the number of bars that has opened within this axis is unusual, this is not different from other localities in Nnewi. The seemingly undeveloped parts of Nnewi, are not also left out in this new "Trending Business" The increase of these beer parlours which enjoys patronage both from the mighty and small is a clear testimony that this is the fastest growing business in Nnewi While most bars are expanding their space, most eateries and restaurants are lacking patronage and even closing down. One will wonder why bars enjoy more patronage than eateries which are also relatively cheap in Nnewi. What is driving the opening of bars in Nnewi? No doubt, the beer parlour business is one of the most profitable businesses currently in Nigeria, especially with the belief of many that drinking brings happiness amid sufferings and harsh economic realities. What an orientation! Nnewi is populated by the middle class who are mostly traders in Nkwo-Nnewi traders and are also largely uneducated. For the ordinary Nnewi trader, after the bustle of the day, relaxation comes to mind. The beer parlour appears to provide them with needed comfort to cool-off and ease the daily stress, adding to the total experience of connecting and interacting with other traders. They drink to their satisfaction and possibly, with the addition of edibles. Bars in Nnewi have also turned out to become a sort of "Representative Assembly" where topical political, social, economic and other issues are argued and discussed in accordance with the level of individual understanding which most times end up in comic relief. Apart from easing off tension, men also stopover at drinking joints to avoid unnecessary squabbles with their wives. A surprise? With the harsh economic realities, there appears to be an ongoing Influx of young people in Nnewi, especially from different parts of the South-East, in pursuit of greener pastures. Most of these migrants are also driving the patronage of these bars as they try to make connections with the locals. Erratic power supply is also a contributory factor, instead of going home to meet their darkrooms, some of these young men prefer taking bottles of drink to wait till late in the night, before returning to their abode. Most bar owners have also adopted the tactic of having big-size TV sets in their premises to show football competitions, which will also attract football enthusiasts. Mostly on weekends and festive period, most bar owners in Nnewi hire live bands to entertain their customers and even attract more patronage. Beer Parlour VS Restaurant While beer parlours are opening or expanding their space, most eateries are either losing patronage or even closing down. Except for a few, restaurants have proved to be a difficult business to run in Nnewi, especially with the thriving roadside food vendors. Whether the lower, middle and even the higher class, most Nnewi residents patronise roadside food vendors. The quality of food and other services rendered by some of these restaurants is not encouraging especially with the expensive price of foods. Some of these restaurants are guilty of serving leftovers from the previous day. Although most bars in Nnewi do not sell food, the patronage they enjoy remains unprecedented. They serve the ir beers with the option of fried snail, smoked fish, grilled meat, beef popularly called suya, chicken barbecue and fish pepper soup and the rest. Nigerians have taken to the street to register their age long agitation against the Special Anti robbery Squad(SARS) Unit of the Nigerian police. The unit constituted in 1992 by Simeon Danladi Midenda former police commissioner was projected to tackle robbery related issues, however, the squad deviated from its purpose to include extreme abuse of power and inhumane activities Evidence of these inhuman activities and extrajudicial killings by SARS came to the public glare early 2016 when the unit was reported by Amnesty International as responsible for human abuse, cruelty, degrading treatment of Nigerians in their custody, and other widespread torture. However, their activities date back as popular Nigerian presenter Ebuka Obi-Uchendu recounts his encounter with them 2005. This continued to deteriorate as gruesome videos and pictures of SARS brutality became frequent on social media space especially Twitter. Every week, a trend of SARS brutality was often seen on the trend table. This started to drop pockets of emotions, stirring revolt bit by bit. A trend emanating from South east Nigeria calling out Awkuzu SARS unit in Anambra state over the death of a young man in their custody surfaced 8th July 2020, details hold that a man went to see his son held at the unit, the commissioner told him to his face “Go, I have wasted your son”. The thread was quoted by over 200 persons narrating gruesome experiences they have heard or seen from Awkuzu sars quoting them as the worst division of the pack. This is an attempt to extort from them. Truth indeed is constant and bears no maintenance cost. Truth does not rigmarole. It does not beat about the bush to justify itself. Truth does not insult people or engages in name calling to prove a point. It is therefore surprising that a piece of advice offered to a man who says he wants to contest Anambra State governorship election in 2021 sent the man and his cohorts to mental senility. They simply went gaga rather than face the truth contained in the advice. Not minding the headline which is always at the Editor’s discretion, the entire body of Chief Gabriel Chukwuma’s interview was about what Senator Ifeanyi Ubah should do, to be able to occupy Government House, Awka in 2021. But rather than dwell on this, Ubah’s media aid whose mother may not have been borne when Chief Chukwuma took the global business community by storm went into name calling, raining abuses and spreading blatant falsehood, because he is uncouth, vulgar and untrained. * Reveals All About Land (Stadium) Dispute With Ifeanyi Ubah The popular Anambra businessman and football administrator, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma popularly known as Gabros spoke to a team of journalists about the Anambra State Governorship Election coming up in 2021, the contenders and asked about his views on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah chances of becoming the next Governor of Anambra State. The Business mogul however revealed that senator Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah has not told him that he is contesting Anambra state governorship election in 2021. His words, “Perhaps, it is still rumour, mere speculation, Senator Ubah himself has not told me anything about him contesting Anambra state governorship seat in 2021. Frankly speaking I have only heard it from a couple of persons and this is why, I still call it rumour, or mere speculation”, the business mogul stated. Speaking further, the football administrator said ‘if Ubah comes to me to tell me he wants to contest, I will ask him not to contest, because he will not win. There is no point embarking on an exercise that will be futile, a mere jamboree or a journey to nowhere; I will ask him to perish the idea, unless he listens to me and do those things I asked him to do earlier before now.’ The founder of Gabros International Football club revealed that Senator Ubah is not the rightful owner of the stadium he now nicknamed “Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium situated along Nnewi-Ozubulu Road and sharing boundary with Beverly Hills Hotel Limited. Anambra South Senatorial race: Why I’m contesting against my brother – Uba He went further to tell Journalists that Nnewi is not in short supply of eminently qualified men and women who can comfortably occupy that position ranging from renowned businessmen, Academics and academicians, strategists and diplomats among several others, and stated categorically that Ubah’s ambition to govern Anambra State is “not only highly flawed, but d**d or arrival”. Speaking further, Mr Gabros he said “Ubah did not take my advice; in fact, he neglected all that I told him to do as a man nursing leadership ambition. “It is not only my land that he forcefully acquired, he forcefully acquired lands belonging to several other persons and they are all hurt. I advised him to go to them for full and proper reconciliation by paying them for their lands, he never did. All these landowners are hurt, go and settle them and then return and announce your governorship ambition and you will get maximum support but he never listened to me. “Everywhere you go in Nnewi, the reports of how Senator Ubah converted one person’s property or the other are legion. He will come under the pretense that he wants to buy, the moment he is through with information concerning the property that is the end of the story. EXCLUSIVE: Senator Ifeanyi Ubah Snubs Innoson Ambulance, Buys Foreign Vehicles (Photos) The next thing is court order where the rightful owner will be barred from entering his own land. And what is even laughable, in all these cases, he has no original land papers or any authentic documents pertaining to the lands. This is the same case with Gabros international Stadium which he has since nick named Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium. He tells whoever that cares to hear that he has the court order of the land in his hands. In fact, in my own case, he said that I will spend all my money in court without retrieving that stadium from him. That for 40years the matter will still be lingering in the court while he is using the stadium.” “But is this the stuff of a Governor?”. Gabros asked rhetorically. “A leader should have conscience; he must be meek and mild with the ability to carry his people along. But Ubah does not have these qualities, he stated. Speaking further on the contested land, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma says, “I bought that land when Ubah was just about 14years old. I spent all the money I acquired in my youth to purchase the land. I bought it from Ozubulu people, Nnewi people and the Anambra state government, and I have all the papers. Ifeanyi Ubah stepped in and bulldozed everything. He has not paid a kobo for the land up till date, trying to be smart, he approached a judge of an FCT High court Akpo, Abuja, Justice Valentine Ashi and obtained an injunction barring me from entering the land, my own land!. Controversy Trails Ikemba Amichi Award Conferred On Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah “The question that came quickly to my mind was, can somebody buy land with court order? However, I have since stopped the illegal injunction, thanks to the Appeal Court, Abuja division. And to achieve this, I spent roughly fifty million naira (N50,000,000) of my hard earned income from my private business but I am happy for being able to vacate the injunction through my lawyers”. He enthused. Gabros has called on Ubah to hands off his stadium and all adjoining plots of land since they are no longer for sale. “As it stands now, the Football club, the stadium and adjoining plots of land belong to me. And none is for sale again, in fact, I am look for more to buy if I see therefore I urge Ifeanyi Ubah to hands off without further delay”. Gabros warned. Asked how senator Ubah gained access into his stadium and all other plots of land, Gabros said, “Actually, I kept that land for my old age. Unfortunately, when I met Ubah thinking he was a good man, I told him I could sell. He quickly became interested but before I could open my two eyes I got into this mess” he regretted. It has been a horrifying 21 years for Ike Ibeabuchi who was sentenced to prison for a crime he didn't commit in Nevada, United States of America (USA). Ike Ibeabuchi who is of Nigerian descent but an American citizen had a thriving boxing career and life where he was ranked No.2 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) before his career was cut-short when he was accused by an “alleged” prostitute for sexual assault. He was arrested in 1999 but never found guilty for the crime but could not be tried by another court in the USA. According to him, he was drugged to accept an 'Alford plea'- (where a defendant in a criminal case does not admit to the criminal act and asserts innocence. In entering an Alford plea, the defendant admits that the evidence presented by the prosecution would be likely to persuade a judge or jury to find the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt). Ike remained in prison from 1999 till 2014 when he was eventually released but was held for another year in Arizona for his residency to be reviewed in court. He was released late 2015, and he lived a normal life till he was arrested again in 2016 for an alleged probation violation which was undisclosed. He was continually held in prison and was eventually supposed to be released in September 2019 but he was not released. Ike is still being held in prison till date(2020) and is appealing to all the bodies and the USA authorities to intervene in his continued incarceration. Read Below for the Full Details of Ike's Travails….. Read The Intriguing Story Of Former Heavyweight Boxer, Ike Ibeabuchi Who Was Destined For Great Things In The Division Narrates And What Went Wrong With His Boxing Career, And Life. “My name is Mr Ike Ibeabuchi. A heavyweight boxing contender ranked No:2 of the world by the International Boxing Federation (IBF). I held the WBC International Heavyweight Championship title and a world heavyweight title mandatory Challenger in 1999. I still hold an unbeaten Pro record of 20 fights, 0 loss and 15 knockouts. In 1999, I was arrested for alleged attempted sexual assault. I was not found guilty of the alleged felony because I was not given a fair hearing nor being tried. I was drugged to accept an 'ALFORD PLEA' which denied me the right to be further tried in any court in the United States Of America. From the foregoing, I was unjustly incarcerated and since 1999, I have remained in prison to this very day! My accuser was a hooker and was severally convicted for prostitution. In 2007 however, I became privy to this hidden information, I appealed to the Supreme Court of Nevada for a review of my conviction. And legal proceedings were considered by the Supreme court against my prosecutor for my unjust conviction. My conviction was overturned in keeping with the order by the court. The Supreme court ordered for my immediate release and cleared my penal record. But my prosecutor had been heinously and unlawfully contravening the sacred order handed down by the Supreme court of Nevada. I used my time in prison very judiciously to acquire several college degrees: a degree in Associate of Applied Science in General Studies in 2005 from Western Nevada College, a degree in Associate of Applied Science in General Business in 2006, a degree in Applied Science in Management in 2007, and a Paralegal certificate from Blackstone Career Institute in Pennsylvania. On the 28th of February 2014, I was released from prison and turned loose to the Immigration And Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Arizona which is my state of residence. I was held for another one year while my residency status was being reviewed in the court. I was finally released in November 2015. I thanked God for granting me a second chance! This collaboration will usher the IVM brand into the prominent hailing services and foster the growth for both brands to provide a convenient means of travel for people in the region and beyond. Speaking on the partnership, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, CEO of IVM Group said: “We’ve been closely monitoring Plentywaka’s progress since its launch in September 2019 and their growth has been very impressive in such a short space of time. From our conversations with their founding team, we saw a company that was hungry and unprepared to rest on their laurels, which is why we were keen to support them in the next phase of their expansion.” “Today marks a partnership between two industry leaders and our ambition is for this to develop a firm foundation for Nigeria to become a leader in bus travel across Africa. With our manufacturing expertise and Plentywaka’s strengths in tech and customer service, we are very confident we can achieve this and look forward to a long and successful relationship.” Continue reading....https://www.anaedoonline.ng/2020/10/05/innoson-vehicle-manufacturing-ivm-partners-with-plentywaka-for-its-south-east-expansion-plans116683/

You might not be the first to do it. But reinvent the wheel so damn well that you become the template -Ebuka Obi Uchendu Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma is a man of few words. He is not your average businessman, he is a magician. When I mean “magician”, I mean one that wakes up to do the unbelievable, that seems “undoable'' but the result ends up wowing everyone and building a template everyone follows. Beyond the story of his birth and the prophecy from his childhood, Ifediaso as he was called after his birth and was given as a title is a wonder that has since risen from the start of his business sojourn to his current state. He started out the very normal way, serving his masters till it was time for settlement. The story of Ifediaso will never be complete without mentioning how he fared well as a servant, had great track records with his masters (His elder brother inclusive) he served and also eschewed great honest trait as a young trader that made the Igbo spiritual leader “Ogirisi Igbo”(Chief Rommy) single him out as one that will be greater than his peers – which eventually came to fulfilment. Nkwo Nnewi market, his first point of call was not just a business hub that made Ifediaso who he is, but his avant-garde business acumen made him revolutionize the market. The feat he achieved and the height he attained, none has been able to do or reach there till this very date. After conquering Africa's biggest motorcycle market, Ifediaso looked elsewhere – it was the plastic industry, well dominated by the likes of Eleganza Plastic and others as of old. His “A-game” was brought to the fore, as he also did “magic” like he always does, took over the plastic industry and ended up erecting West Africa's Largest Plastic plant. Ifediaso cannot brag of an MBA from great business schools of the world, but what he has been able to achieve with his massive native intelligence, a lot of people with MBAs haven’t done anything close to it. The automobile manufacturing business, to many brought Ifediaso to global limelight, but people who knew him before then, will testify that he has been doing big things from time immemorial. His venture into auto manufacturing was a huge leap of faith. As one that had no background knowledge of production of cars but his passion towards the business and his penchant for taking big risks led him to a sector even the greatest of businessmen, investors and industrialists dreaded to take a dive into. He is currently enjoying massive goodwill from Nigerians and beyond the shores of the country. Continue reading...https://www.anaedoonline.ng/2020/10/01/ifediaso-60-an-ode-to-chief-innocent-chukwuma/

Women Should Internalize Winning as Normal, What Do You Think? Many young women grow up with desires of what to be or not to be. Some of them eventually become or do nothing because they lack the right motivation and inspiration to BECOME. Many women have had to draw inspiration from winning men or encouragement from relatives or even determined to be the first of many firsts in their chosen careers. Some of them have conquered against all odds without any willing guide and professional models, others have created pathways for generations of many women to come. We will be sharing with you stories and personalities of women who have thrived through it all to emerge winners, professionals in their field and also discuss how to advance the movement of women in general. Some of our “Warrior Women” are winning whether married or single; some others are living legends while some have gone to the great beyond leaving their footprints for us to emulate. Our women’s list will focus on women from the South-Eastern region which cut across the five states. The very first on our list is Captain Chinyere Kalu. Meet Captain Chinyere Kalu, MFR (née Onyenucheya), the first Nigerian female commercial pilot and the first woman to fly an aircraft in Nigeria. She is a native of Akwete, Ukwa East LGA in Abia State. Her desire to pursue a career in aviation was inspired by her adventurous aunt, well known for overseas travelling. Her desire to take on this path was unprecedented but with the support of her mother, she began her journey to a successful career. She had her primary school education at Anglican Girls Grammar School, Yaba, Lagos State, before she trained as a private and commercial pilot in 1978 at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria under SP.12 Batch. She subsequently took several aviation and transport courses in the United Kingdom and the United States before she received her license as a commercial pilot on 20 May 1981, from the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology. Some of the training courses include Bolivia Aviation, Memphis Tennessee (USA) for the Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), the Aircraft Accident Investigation and Prevention Course with FAA Tulsa in Oklahoma, USA. She went on to the Flight Instructor’s Rating at CAA Oxford, United Kingdom and the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL/IR) at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria. In an Interview with one of Nigeria's popular dailies in 2012, she narrated that her motivation was matriarch aunt and the desire to do something challenging outside the regular. In her words, “I wanted something unique, something special, something challenging, something that would be fulfilling. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to travel all over the world and being paid for it”. She further narrated her challenges in a male dominated industry where she was victimized because of her gender and faced many months of no pay. She said her challenges discouraged her family members(children, relatives) from plying the aviation trade. In her words, “They felt so threatened to the point that they felt if they left me to excel, probably I was going to take their job from them. So there was a lot of victimization. It has not been easy. There was a period in my life that I was sent packing for 14 months, no salary, nothing! And that was not the first time or the second, but God has been faithful and that is the bottom line. It has not been easy because I didn’t have the desired support, I didn’t have godfathers and I was there suffering, but God has been faithful”. Many infertile women in developing countries consider that, without children, their lives are without hope. These women carry a lot of burden and the lack of affordable care is extremely alarming. Our culture demands that, for a woman to be socially accepted, she should have at least one biological child, Almost all cultures across Africa put emphasis on women having children … Marriage without children is considered a failure of the two individuals. In general, infertility is defined as not being able to get pregnant (con-ceive) after one year (or longer) of unprotected sex. Because fertility in women is known to decline steadily with age, some health providers evaluate and treat women aged 35 years or older after 6 months of unprotected sex. Infertility is not always a woman’s problem. Both men and women can contribute to infertility. Many couples struggle with infertility and seek help to become pregnant, but it is often thought of as only a woman’s condition. However, in about 35% of couples with infertility, a male factor is identified along with a female factor. In about 8% of couples with infertility, a male factor is the only identifiable cause. Almost 9% of men aged 25 to 44 years in the United States reported that they or their partner saw a doctor for advice, testing, or treatment for infertility during their lifetime. Women need functioning ovaries, fallopian tubes and a uterus to get pregnant. Conditions affecting any one of these organs can contribute to female infertility. Infertility affects up to 15% of reproductive-aged couples worldwide. In many cultures, childless women suffer discrimination, stigma and ostracism. For example, some women will be banned from attending her father-in-law’s funeral. “The relatives, when getting together, talk a lot about their children or being pregnant and having children. Those are the moments when an infertile woman feels extremely isolated. So often, people do not regard them as human. There is no respect,” most women often have to bear the extra-marital relationships that husbands tend to have.
