Foreign Affairs / Re: Reasons Why A Diplomatic Solution To The Syrian Crisis Is Unlikely by kossynerule: 11:32pm On Sep 17, 2013
Well the situation is not that black and white.Assad is a tyrant that has ruled Syria for a long time and he is no longer popular among his people. When the people you are leading no longer want you,the honorable thing is to step down.America has been in the fore-front of ensuring that democracy and its tenets are upheld in every country of the world, and Obama being the ruler of the free nation cannot abandon that role.In war, like politics, the only thing that remains permanent is interest. No permanent enemy. No permanent ally.and Obama needs the syrian rebels to fight Assad. So Obama aligning with the very enemy that he fights is not his fault.Circumstances change. So u guys should cut him some slacks

callmenow: Don't cry for the drug sellers. Good riddance to killers and murderers. The unwarranted death of Nigerians up and down the country can be laid at the doors of these brazen charlatans. To suggest the alternative is armed robbery shows their level of knowledge.
Killers? Murderers?..what do u know about drug retailing.?.some of them are degree holders, some M.Sc,most of them are better than you will ever be.

ivoice247: Shame on the religious leaders in Nigeria, shame on pastors of churches and Imams of mosques where these our so called religious fathers romancing with common thieves and looters whom we call our governors, ministers, perm sec, president etc. See how these pastors and Imams shamelessly praise corrupt governors and presidents yet they say they are the representative of God's law on earth.

I'm a muslim and i'm especially ashamed of those corrupt governors in the north propagating "shari'ah law" and yet stealing money from govt coffers meant to be for their people and the poor. Below is a beautiful narration of an incident that happened during the life time of prophet muhammed(saw) who practiced "shari'ah law" as it's meant to be practices;-

A man named Jaibir(ra) reported that a woman (rich, noble and highly influential) from the tribe of Makhzum committed theft. She was brought to prophet muhammed(saw)and she sought refuge from Umm Salama the wife of prophet muhammed(i.e. she wanted the prophet's wife to plead on her behalf so that she can be granted immunity from prosecution). Thereupon prophet muhammed(saw) said: By Allah, even if she were Fatima (fatima was the prophet's favourite daughter), I would have her hand cut off. And thus her hand was cut off. (sahih muslim hadith no. 4190)

what kind of stupid law justifies chopping off some1's hand even if d peron is guilty...it is sheer wickedness

bilms: MADE IN NIGERIAN BUSES FINALLY HIT LAGOS ROAD.

These buses where introduced bus RTEAN (Road Transport Employers Association Of Nigeria)
This is one of the patriotic action which was not even found in the Action Governor of Lagos State and many Nigerian leaders who go about Importing crude manufactured buses from India.

... I was very happy yesterday when for the first time, I drove side by side with a made in Nigerian bus.
I felt more important being a Nigerian amidst the discouragement faced daily from evil and corruption news our ruler feed us with.

[quote author=komole]Why are you all trying to be too hard on the poster? I think hejust shared his experience at the bank and also want to make the forum lively.

@Poster,this is a very critical thread you started but you are ABSOLUTELY ON POINT.

Some people send messages on BB and you are like; did this fellow actually even passed WAEC with a D7 in English Language.

I will put the blames on the Educational System in Nigeria today as well as parents.

People no longer value education in Nigeria. Believing they can buy (or sllep their way) getting certificate and job of any kind.

People please "tackle the message and not the messanger". Deep inside us we know the poster is well over 50% correct with his observation.

I laughed out loudly @Kastina NYSC Orientation camp is very interested. My colleague who was shocked at my loud laughter on reading it, broke the bottle of his drink. Shouting Chineke!!!

Seun ur idea is very brilliant and wonderful.u really did ur homework I must say.this issue is now past d issue of subsidy/deregulation.what we are now asking 4 is 2 revamp old refineries or build new ones, arrest d so called faceless cabals and prosecute dem,24 hour power supply, cutting down d cost of running d government, etc.is dat 2 much 2 ask 4?.dey want us 2 make sacrifices 4 d greater good while they can't even bear 2 reduce dia salaries and allowances by 25 percent.so Seun save d maths class 4 another day
