Does this not prove that the person has big comprehension issues ?

When I opined that I don't have a distinctive Nigerian accent, I meant no one can guess what part of country I come just by listening to me talk. The same way Joke Sylva's isn't exactly distinctive, I suppose.

About the VN; I did one recently and I tagged several people. I'll do another.

My creed is that the English Language was made for Man and not the other way round. However one wishes to speak is fine by me,so long as he/she eloquently does it, pronounces words correctly and is coherent enough for effective communication.
The influx and in-streaming of american culture to England is overwhelming (as regards to the BBC reference you made)

Even British rap battlers feign an American accent in their delivery (even when they are battling in their home town)

Quit watching too many black american movies.

I actually read, speak and write Yoruba and my native Ibibio and I still do not have a distinctive Nigerian accent. It takes a lot of hardwork though. Australian accent rocks best. It's way better that American and British accents.

British, American mixed with that posh and clean Nigerian accent does it for me .. In linguistics its termed "Floating" .. Elites like Omotola Jolade, Joke Silva, Genevieve King Sunny Ade and a host of others do it perfectly. its overly rhythmically soothing especially when those Nigerian ad libs are voiced..

I'm so in love with the English Language. I don't care if you tag the language 'lunatic'..Always scored A1/B2 in it. so addicted to the language that I read the dictionary everyday routinely and novels.


One thing I love mostly about it is the vastness, limitlessness and infiniteness. So many words, plus its wild fun trying to bend those words and try manipulating them like a cruciverbalist would.. say like creating puns, entendres etcetera.

English is such a blessing to the world..I wish it was my first language though.

I think the closest to English in depth is Roman...or maybe Greek..
