maclatunji:the heck? pathetic. You're blaming Jonathan for this? wao. |
Henrycharles:Guy I take my heart beg you, abeg remove that pix for the sake of civility. |
Akinz0126:I almost cried because off this. Very good analogy. Can I share this on another platform? |
AngelsAndStars:http://freethoughtblogs.com/hetpat/2015/03/03/what-if-we-sentenced-male-offenders-to-the-same-standards-as-women/ bro. look at this article and read it with keen interest, including the comment section that even has more info. and you will want to do worse than men have been accused of doing. |
@ lawlahbammy, (on assumption), this sounds like a backlash and vitriolic tantrum against men which kinda projects marriage as a murky venture. Again, it seems the inspiration for this came from a long period on misguided application of personal ratiocination of events that you have witnessed either directly or vicariously. I would really implore you not to let the isolated(relative) moments of cruelty you witnessed prod you to cast such aspersions on the opposite gender. God be with you in your odyssey to find the so much vaunted 'man of your dreams' and provide you the happiness and marital bliss that forthwith follows it. |
It will also be very educative if we can exhaust the available machinery of relevant statistical tools and information in such argument, which though might not be all encompassing( in terms of the issues that should be subjected to the scientific inquest), should address integral issues that might serve as descriptors or effectors that underlie the very subject under scrutiny. |
It's good you posted this but I think it is very necessary we look at some of these implied disparities in the society's gender inclinations to certain biases or sentiments with utmost caution. I wouldn't be upfront with an argument against this given my lack of statistical backup to some of the opinions projected. As we try to push for some eccentricity in certain gender biases, it is not objectionable to make room for some of the limitations of our perceived opinions as it has been shown that, in many moments the rash and emotional dimensions of our behavioral attributes are employed to make decisions that favor such poignant societal arguments, for which our rational and logical faculties have not been comprehensively and extensively exploited, there seems to be a concurrent overindulgence of the resultant backlash, which though mostly downplayed by the favored section of the society( be it gender or racial class), is very inimical and debilitating against the recipient of the subsequent preponderant bias. In that light, I would like to point you to this article, and would in all sincerity, ask you to peruse the page including the enlightening comments made by those who responded to it. http://freethoughtblogs.com/hetpat/2015/03/03/what-if-we-sentenced-male-offenders-to-the-same-standards-as-women/ |
Finally, I can now agree that some people can go any length to fabricate stories here on nairaland, but my question is, why do that? smh disappointed. |
Buhari's health is comprehensibly waning. He is 74 for crying out loud. In retrospect, he once slumped during the last presidential campaign. He will be back soon. Let's pray for him to get better and more rejuvenated. I speak life, you're gonna live, Mr. president. |
xynerise:Just stereotype. I have 'toddlers' and 'children' around who even call me by my name while talking to me. Once one is able to grow over these stereotypes, he or she will find it easy to let go certain things. We have been imbued with some of these things, and I always seek to independently rationalize which is best for me and presumably, the society. Some times, acting like a maverick makes a lot of sense. My uncle who stays in the UK once picked offence with this same thing when the would-be daughter-in law conversing with him on phone asked him, how are you? ifugo nu ka osi di. BTW, another one is, must you close your eyes while praying? |
Ademoore07:place wey I serve kwa. I'm not even from south south, but to tell you I didn't enjoy my time there, will be a great disservice to the people of that state. This is just too melodramatic. Please be more sincere next time. Akwa Ibom for one, is miles ahead of my own state for a start. |
Stupedinluv:I tell you. When even mannequins de tempt some people. The borderline is, know when to restrain yourself. |
hahaha. This is really funny. kai, this really made my night. Nigerians can make one cry while laughing. I never stop to laugh for about 5mins now. |
swtman:I like this meme die. See as the pikin close eye like say she mean 'i don't care' |
sisisioge:hahahaa. baby girl kwa? nah, on the contrary, na bros you suppose put there. No hard feelings though. |
baby124:Very intelligent as well, but what I am saying is just look at your comment, the use of the terms 'may and can' suggest the possibility of alternative opinions, theories or explanations. That is why we have such words as insecurity, depression, irrationality, and a lot more that can lead to opposing theories. |
sisisioge:very intelligent remark. touche'. Yes we know divorce is supposed to be detested, but people should not overindulge their emotions while commenting on someone's thread like some here. He says he wants suggestions on how to get custody of his child and people are here remonstrating on why he shouldn't go for a divorce. If he wanted opinion on how to salvage his marriage, he would have asked for it. I have read through all these, only few comments have suggested much on how he could get his son back. Oga, if you can get a computer generated evidence( e.g video or picture) of how your child's life is endangered by the woman, it can be of great assistance to you. If possible, try to have documents showing you have been taking care of the child such as receipts( even if say na pure water you buy for am). These will help if you can provide them. Get a good lawyer and file. |
baby124:What? don't you think this is a bit on the extreme? |
thesicilian:Just look at this very crazy comment by Van Jones( I'm sorry to say, his Nigerian version doyin okukpe is probably miles more intelligent than him) that smacks of pettiness and puerility on CNN: Van Jones: 'The world is now adrift' |
ikp120:That's actually correct, but if you can refer to my comment, I said they even get to fix in something negative from issues very remote from what is debated on. Go to cnn and check it up. Again, certain facts have been twisted. Trump denies insulting a journalist, while cnn says he did. That's a very poignant issue there. It is very unfair for a media house to twist a story or edit it so it can suit the intention of their loyalists. Trump is saying that they did not tell his story accurately. That's also being fake. The BBC has also hounded May for some time and just recently toned down on theirs. |
Toks2008:Bro. I watched that video and I can tell you that Nigerians who criticize him for his comments are very(*1000) hypocritical. Today, we are calling for the tightening of the borders of the country for security reasons and in turn saying, someone else should not bother doing same in his. Yes, trump was very very irrational and imprecise about many of his comments, but we get the clear picture of what he wants and that is what any body or country which desires to survive must do. Clinton, jeb bush, Bernie sanders and other candidates where busy trying to massage the ego of every minority group just to get votes and probably do the same thing this guy was saying he would do notwithstanding who his comments hurt. Political precision and politeness doesn't mean you have the perfect and ideal answers figured out. You know, when I watched the video, I learnt one thing from trump, his comment about a temporary solution was very intelligent. The previous administration was always busy trying to get public approval by looking for long term solutions which they couldn't even assure themselves was perfect. The Iran deal is a clear example of such debacle that the U.S has not figured out till today on how it can compromise with its long term ally, Israel. Its like saying, don't give first aid, until we get to the hospital then someone can be treated. The guy was just very sincere. As it is, he has shown that he is clearly a patriotic nationalist. The U.S is tired of too much talks. Funny enough, trump is one of the most pro-gay conservative in recent years in the U.S. What that means is, not necessarily is he championing their course, but he doesn't bother about it the way many other republicans do. The celebs shouting do not even know much about their country's politics. |
priceaction:He is tearing down the influence of the media and Hollywood. Actually, Americans are becoming wiser and thinking more rather than feed on cock and bull stories from the media. One of the interesting news on fox today is about the hypocrisy of the liberal. Today, a protest has been fixed, championed by celebrities in support of women rights and freedom. One of the funny moves the organizers of the protest did was to delist a pro-life group which is in support of the protest but against abortion. What the U.S election should teach Nigerians is that, no matter how advanced the west is, no matter how sophisticated they have become, they still indulge the very obnoxious dimension of their emotions to settle simple conflicts. Nigerians did that in 2015. Imagine a pastor in my church calling for public prayers, that God should kill Buhari before the election because he wants to islamize Nigeria. What a shameful way to think. It was actually an extension of the silently inferred rhetoric the then administration of GEJ was feeding the people. Yes GEJ and Buhari are not perfect, but using lies to divide and rule Nigeria is wrong. I wouldn't exonerate PMB neither will I do same to the media. |
ikp120:In the past four months, I mean this without wavering, I have consistently watched cnn every single day. I can tell you that the news channel is totally biased. Go there today and you must find something remotely( remotely) negative about trump. Yes fox is pro-trump, but check it out. Some people(not all) in fox even criticise him when necessary and they publish negative news sometimes about him. What will you say when 90% of the news CNN publishes is all about negativity against trump. They just toned it down recently. The media house was even obsessed about trumps illegality as a president and always talked about how the electoral college might upturn his election. In the end, CLINTON even lost four more votes in the official electoral college balloting. I don't even want to talk about the CNN-CLINTON alliance. Also fox has always been pro-conservative for a long time( that undenied). Shamelessly, the U.S is contiguous to Nigeria when we look at the type of politics that transpired in the 2015 election. |
wao. thanks for that. can I share this on another platform? |
willibounce1:hahaha. if you see me for real life, well I no fit shout. |
This is very cowardly of the Nigerian Army. This repressive act would definitely destroy the country. Look, do you we why kerosene and fuel will increase and no body will shout or protest and even if you do, you will have to smother your voice? it is because, you are afraid to die. Do we know why the state governors will pilfer the coffers of the state and nothing( absolutely nothing) will happen? the fear of death. There are things happening in Nigeria while we are here fanning the embers of disunity and division. Today, I as an Igbo fear travelling to the northern part of the country let alone residing there yet, you want me to say one Nigeria. Why will a sane Igbo brother or sister want to avoid serving in the north where it is so much vaunted that food and other things are cheap? simple, the fear of death. Let us be realistic, the institution of government has consistently failed for a long time even before president buhari took over. The least we can do is to obliterate the emotions that stoke the kiln of distrust such as what the military has always shown. |

OP, do well to inform us or get sufficient information from the couple, what more they have done. We should call the pastor and the church board to hear from them. I am only protecting the image of the church( in general) which some are already trying to overindulge here on the thread. |
mikedimeji:the story is not complete, shikena. I am sure that no church can just do that. Show me that church and I will show you a shrine. |
kalindaminda:the story from them is not complete. shikena |
