ROSSIKE:

I can't stress enough the importance of getting some real information off these elders, traditional griots and priests in our villages, and writing some of this stuff down, before they die off with their secrets, leaving us with nothing but the Jewish bible!   undecided

It's tragic that were you to meet some of those keepers of our most ancient secrets today, in the village, they may have no shoes on, their skin covered in scabies.

Pitiful living testaments to our self-abandonment and emasculation.

shocked angry

You want to go to the village and restore those evil juju things. Jesus!!! Christ died just to save us from the grip of African traditional beliefs, which were planted by the devil, and you want to go and document the evil "secrets".  shocked shocked

what is the world coming to? Please people pray for our country. Only to Jesus though. The Jewish one that loves us dogs more than our evil ancestors.

This is such a sad story. Every time i think about it it just makes me cringe. He was such a cool, nice person. Can't remember him hurling insults or being mean. I can't even imagine what people closer to him than us will be feeling right now.

There is too much wrong with the world.

Uhmmmm, I will take one champion league shield over two UEFA cup titles anytime. Mo picked up 2 of those shields (and also your "yeye" UEFA cup title for good measure grin).  Ramos just like Pellegrini was just one shove away from being fired.

Mo wont be fired even if he loses the reverse fixture, U heard it here first. He will be given one more year. Thats the difference between a Juande and a Mourinho.

Capello ( his resume is made of trophies) got fired after one season, and he won Madrid a trophy, ending a drought. Pellegrini's team broke all sorts of records. Barca pretty much had to have our best season in history to beat them to the title; he still got the sack.  Madrid no send anybody papa. Anybody is disposable. If Madrid get humiliated in the return fixture, bar overwhelming support from madridistas, Mourinho will be history.

Mourinho is a GREAT coach. Just too bad he has "show men" rather than business men for  players. I still think Pep is a better coach though. Also Barca is Spanish not Italian, so its VIVA BARCA not FORZA BARCA.

Força is Catalan. We don't have that funny looking c on our keyboards so most use z.

Força Barca!!

Religion / Re: The Deep Meaning Of "I Am That I Am" by Krayola(m): 2:08pm On Nov 23, 2010
@deepsight.  WHat i'm saying is pretty much anything, like that "I am who is"  statement, can be interpreted to mean anything. That's part of why I try to avoid theological debates cause people will just start quoting bible verses and interpreting them at will without any real context whatsoever. The other day I asked Inesqor about Abraham's promise and he quoted something from Galatians. I didn't know how to respond to that cause I don't know how God made a promise to Abraham in Galatians. To me that is a later writer imposing recent events on the older texts. But that's a whole other story.
Religion / Re: The Deep Meaning Of "I Am That I Am" by Krayola(m): 1:46pm On Nov 23, 2010
All these abstractions are meaningless IMO. God is no mystery. . . God is whatever each individual can conjure up and be comfortable with. For some it is a stone in the yard, and for some it's some complex intellectual abstraction, and for some it's some strange guy that visited Abraham (before he became so strange that no one could see his face, hence the fire  grin ), for some it's a human being that got nailed to a cross. There is no right or wrong answer. It's whatever works for u.

Religion is about what u do,  what u believe don't mean $hit. People debate belief systems all day, hurl insults at each other, then call themselves believers in God and the vision of Jesus. grin grin I laugh in Klingon.

Kinda funny how even the bible details the evolution of the concept of God.
Religion / Re: The Deep Meaning Of "I Am That I Am" by Krayola(m): 1:35pm On Nov 23, 2010
Just cause some book says God said it dosen't mean it was said by some invisible man in the sky. Myth na the language of the times. The same people that just argued that u can't judge ancient times by modern standards, on amala thread,  seem not to understand that u can't read ancient texts using modern literal interpretations. So fukn ironic.

@nuclearboy. I sent the track like 10 hrs ago.

I wonder if all the atrocities committed in the name of spreading Christianity, after Jesus, were endorsed by your God. Latin America got buttraped. Whole civilizations wiped out. I'm guessing that was part of God's plan too.

This God deserves to be stoned to death. I'll personally take a $hit in his face.

JeSoul:

"Sin" is more times than not a very relative term. What might be a sin for me, might not be for you another christian.
I totally agree with that. But is it (Killing of animals as my previous post describes) sin for YOU? and if so, please share why. .  or why not (what verses in the bible?)

JeSoul:

Kray, "murder" is sometimes justified, sometimes not - the real conundrum for us is being able to tell the difference - especially when you're not privy to all the details or even the big picture or even the parties involved.

I agree with this too. But when is genocide justified? Please just give me one possible example and I will leave the matter.

JeSoul:

Dilute I think, is the wrong choice of word - Expound is way better.

All Jesus did was show and expound on the way that was already there. For example:
If God told the Isrealites not to cross river A - did God say so because 1He hates rivers or because 2river A was dangerous? And then over time man comes to ban the crossing of all rivers everywhere no matter what.

Over time the essence of a command or directive is lost and legalism takes over such that the reason for an action being ordered in the first place was lost and people go about it ritualistically with no real effect on their hearts. So what Jesus did wasn't "diluting" it to make it applicable to that time per se - but rather showing the 'spirit' and 'heart' of the command in the first place - and showing how the essence of the command projects forward and backward to all people - defying even time and culture. Just my understanding of the matter. I know you may challenge this by bringing up some aspects the Law - but as a general construct - I hope you get my point. Cheers!

I get your point. You are right IMO.

nuclearboy:

Krayo-baba:

Suddenly it returns to mind I owe you a drop-kick from the past. Ah well, I am a forgiving person.
haha. Thank you for your forgiveness. YOu save me the trouble of having to cripple you lol

nuclearboy:

[1]  As long as you own the animals, you have right to kill as many as you desire. Ranchers follow this implied "rule" all over the world. As long as they belong to you, there is no point where it can run counter to God's will. If you decide to bury them alive after spending your "last card" on them, na your loss.

I think you are saying having legal custody of an animal means you own the animal's life and can do with it as you please. . . . that burying, alive,  a  chicken, dog, bear, etc,   can not at any point run counter to God's will.  Does the bible, in your opinion, support this position? Also, What if you do not "own" the animal? Is it wrong then?

Some Christians argue that we did not give animals life and have no right to take their lives except for food, or in self defense e.g. mosquitoes, pests, rodents e.t.c. . I'm not sure but I think most animals kill mainly for food, or in protecting themselves from being killed for food. Humans are the only species I know that "think" it's fine to kill other animals just because we can. (I could be wrong on this though- I'm no expert on animals.) These Christians argue that God saw that the earth was good well before he made man, and that he loves all of his creation dearly. That giving man dominion over the earth is putting the earth (including animals)  in our care. Like a king to watch over his kingdom. . to ensure continuity and and not to just exploit and abuse. If you were to meet a Christian that made this argument, how would you counter him/her  and defend your position?

JeSoul:

[2] Nope, nobody has the right TODAY to kill anyone based on perceptions of "obeying" God. We do NOT live in the same day and time Moses did. Consider - could you drive your car in Nero's day? You didn't exist then and neither did cars. We live under different standards and using the standards of Judaism 4000 years ago to judge Christians today is outright unfair. You may not have noticed but this is even a different covenant and such commands cannot be found "existent" today.

I agree with that. And I think that is mainly because we know better than people did back then.

TBH I think those commandments were written for Jews to help them live together as a community. You couldn't steal from other Jews, kill other Jews etc. It was that way in most desert tribes. Allegiance was to your clan/tribe and all else was potential prey. What the Israelites did was the way things were back then, and most tribes would have sworn their deities had their back while massacring others. I think ultimately we have to use our heads and figure out what works for us.

JeSoul:

[3] On leading others who He had ordered to not kill into warfare, I'll  return again to my catfish analogy. If you visit, and I kill as many fish as required to satisfy you, where's my crime? If on the other hand, another human decides to kill a single one for his pleasure, he is a thief. Why? Ownership! That is the context in which I used the idea. Now, God is not subject to the same laws or judgments that we are. Leading them into battle is like me simply telling one of my staff to kill the "as many" fish as we wanted. He is NOT guilty of stealing murder or any crime. As Jesoul has said, without knowing the context, situation etc of the period, its somewhat difficult to judge what was right or wrong.

I think the commandments were written by whoever was leading them at the time (possibly Moses) to help them live well as a people.  I don't think they were too worried about the welfare of their neighbors. That's my opinion.

JeSoul:

nuclearboy:

Misleading if not provocative!

I breed table catfish and the next time anyone here decides to visit me, will take a couple and cut them up as table fare. Would I (and guest) then be mass-murderers?  Well, maybe from the point of view of the fish but would anyone here agree with them?

The reference to those animals was to see where to draw the line when dealing with animals, and not to draw parallels between killing humans and killing non-human animals,  Can we kill animals as we please, whether for food or just for the hell of it. At what point does it go against the will of God?

nuclearboy:

Why can't we be honest for once? How do you wish to compare God (creator) to a "mother" who accompanies on a theiving spree. Does not the OWNER have right over His property?

SO pretty much any believer in God with a conviction that God has his back can take a life of another human, or many, because the "owner" has a right over his "property"? Are Jews/Christians the only ones with this license to kill? What is this dishonesty you speak of? God, according to your bible gave a direct order. People broke it, with his support, and I asked how you reconcile this with the idea that we need to follow God's orders. Why order people not to do something and lead them to do it?

JeSoul:

Ahn ahn na you forget me now. I sent you an email complete with cupcakes with rainbow sprinkles asking for forgiveness for not replying sooner as I was occupied and off the grid for a while. Infact I saw your release self . . . oya, how many copies so far? smiley

^Then again, my executioner friend must be a mass murderer by your logics. It's miraculous that he walks free right in front of THE LAW. (don't kill or u will be executed)

The executioner does not set the law. He does his job as an employee of the law. He is a mass murderer, but according to the law his brand of mass murder does not require punishment since it (the murder) is approved by law.

The case in the bible is like a mother telling her kids never to steal and then going with them, in fact leading them, on a shoplifting spree.

You do realize the above is provocative? Right?

I think it could be provocative, but that doesn't make it inaccurate. Murder is a premeditated taking of another's life, and according to the bible a God that explicitly forbade killing, facilitated/ assisted in mass murder/genocide. The bible says so (not in those exact words, but close enough). But my post wasn't about the killings but to point out that commandments can/may/should . . . be broken when necessary.

Religion / Re: Amala - The Remix by Krayola(m): 5:46am On Nov 18, 2010
@Jeseoul. wass hup? U just forget me sha. It's not good o.

What do you think about eating cats, dogs, horses, zebras, monkeys? If your neighbour was killin cute little cats for their "fur" do you think God might have a problem with that? Would you eat any or some or all of them? If I killed my dog would that be a sin? What if i killed him for food would it be a sin? Are humans the only animals we are forbidden to murder in cold blood?

I just remembered that God led the Israelites in battle after commanding them not to kill. What exactly are we supposed to do with God's commands when scripture shows God involved in numerous murders? If God commanded us not to eat amala, and I ate amala because that was all I could afford, and even saw it as a blessing from God, do u think that would be ok?

In my opinion, Jesus spent his whole ministry doing what you guys think is an abomination. Reinterpreting the scripture to serve the needs of the people in their time. I think this practice of looking for instructions on everything in a 2000 year old manual is silly. Jesus and other galiliean pharisees saw this and breathed new life into old Jewish teachings. Hence the resistance from the rigid conservative Jerusalem Pharisees, who kinda remind me of lots of christians that accuse others of diluting christianity.  That's exactly what Jesus was doing IMO. He was a reformer, and he was diluting Judaism.  Times and circumstances change, and It becomes more practical, and more doable when it's diluted.  . . . It's a new time and those standards are outdated. Damn!!

Let's dilute Christianity. That's the new campaign.  cool

BTW Jesus didn't explicitly ban the use of marijuana so blame him for this post  grin
