All the knowledge we have on earth today can only explain about 4% of our OBSERVABLE universe.

Theists are not completely wrong, neither are atheists nor deists. Neither is completely right. We are all on to something. One supreme God is not a universal concept. It was an idea that was revolutionary, and changed the course of religion permanently. It stared with Nomadic people  . . .that moved from place to place and had no attachment with any location, seasons (they didn't perform agriculture so they didnt need fertility gods, and all that jazz). Abraham was from that background.

Agrarian societies needed different gods for different things. . rain, sun, wind, etc. religions are a product of society, and once they are formed they (religion and society) shape each other continuously.

I'm in my final term of  4 yr religious studies program. I think i know one or 2 things about religion. One Supreme God is not a universal concept. In fact, some cultures think the idea is crazy.

The Hindu Brahman is not God. ,  it does not have a relationship with humans, or anything else. They have different gods for different things. There is Brahma, which creates, but does only that, then there are other lesser deities that do different stuff. The idea of One supreme God that is the be all and end all is not Universal. I can put my whole family's life on that.

The idea of one mighty God, monotheism, is only about 3,000 years old. People worshiped gods, that were associated with different elements of nature, depending on their environment. The idea of One supreme God is what made the religion of the Jews so revolutionary.
