I am Ikwerre and I know I a lot about my tribe. Personally, with a lot of similarities between the people we generally call Igbos /Isoma and the Ikwerres I believe we might be remotely related. But on the other hand why are a there so many taboos in Ikwerre land with the association of Igbos? It is a taboo for a prince-designate to marry from Igbo. There are so many restrictions about Igbo people in Ikwerres land. If you see them all you will conclude that these people are in no way related. Hypothetically, Ikwerre laws place Igbos/Isuoma far below humans. It is so bad. I think it was ancient stereotype. This is why the most demeaning name you can call an Ikwerre person is Isoma/Igbo. This is where the difference emanates and why it will never be possible for most Ikwerre people to accept Igbo. Even Mbata won't accept to be called Isoma the name Ikwerres call Igbos.
