They both lost control…the phone flew off…money scattered all over…handbag fell…and Ifeoma lost her balance…the sound of glass shattering filled the room as her head hit the dressing mirror. All David was aware of was blood splashing against him as a shard of glass embedded itself into ifeoma’s throat, cutting through her windpipe. She struggled for breath. It didn’t last long…

Ifeoma was dead.

David panicked. He held her, trying to revive her. He cried and called out to her. She was gone. He mourned for a moment. But his dark mind took over as Nkechi flashed through his brain. It would not be long before the commissioner sent a team to investigate. He needed to escape. He needed to see Nkechi again. He started picking the scattered money. Then he saw the handbag. Opening it, he hit a jackpot.

Bundles of money. Not less than 500,000 naira. He was rich! He would finally live his dream. With such wealth, he could buy Nkechi’s love. They would run away and live in Lagos. He would open a business and she would complete her education. They would be happy. The thought of being with Nkechi overshadowed his remorse for the crime he had just committed. Such was the power of his lust and obsession.

So he took the money, stuffed it into his pockets. He grabbed a cloth from the wardrobe and cleaned off the blood on his body. There were splashes on his clothes but they were not much.

He made his escape.

PART 7: CRIME AND PUNISHMENT.

David had never gone beyond the sitting room but he was sure he could find his way around. All he needed was to get to ifeoma’s bedroom. He was absolutely certain he would find cash there. If not, he would take jewelleries. Madam had quite a lot.

He felt no regret as he searched for her room. He knew this would be his last time here but the rewards of having Nkechi far outweighed the crime. That madam had been good to him meant nothing anymore.

He found the room upstairs. First he opened the dressing drawers. No cash in them. He searched the bedside drawers and found nothing. He then proceeded to the large wardrobe. Sure he would find money there, he opened them and dived in…

“David!!!”

The shout froze him. His heart went wild with fear. It was clearly unexpected. He had been caught.

“What are you doing in my room?!”Ifeoma stood there at the door, a wad of money in her hand. She was shocked at the sight before her.

David stood very still. His brain had gone AWOL.

“So all the apology was so you could steal from me? I helped you. I fed you. I paid you. So this is how you repay me? By robbing me?!”

David’s mind was racing. It was the end for him.

“Why? And I only came back to give you the 50,000 you asked for.”

The last information brought him back to his senses. At that point he knew he had done something terrible. “Madam, abeg. No be so. Nah the devil cause am. Abeg ma.”

“Devil? Well the devil has destroyed you. You are finished! You’re a criminal and you must pay for this!”

In a flash Ifeoma remembered that horrible night…the last words of her husband…the sound of gunshots minutes later…the sight of his bloodied body and hour later. No. criminals should never go free.

She searched her bag and pulled out her phone.

“Madam, abeg”, David pleaded, kneeling.

She was dialling fast, tears running down her face.

“Madam, I take God beg you…”

“Commissioner”, Nkechi started, “Good morning Sir…”

“Madam, no!”

David lost all sense of reasoning. Prison flashed through his mind. It was not the prospect of being locked up that feared him but the thought of losing Nkechi forever. It all happened so fast…

He rushed at Ifeoma, struggling with the phone…

Ends tomorrow ke? Is there no way we can elongate the story! Just when the plot, the characters are gelling!!!

I wish it was possible but we are at the peak of the story. Elongating would be pointless. It was just meant to be a short story.

David waited five minutes after they had gone then went for the Camry. He opened the glove compartment and took the spare house keys. As he moved towards the house entrance there was only one thought in his mind…
He was going to steal from the woman.

David went to work at Ifeoma’s house the next morning. He cleaned the cars like always. But he took his time. By the time madam and her daughter came out to leave, he was cleaning the Camry.
“Madam, good morning.”
“Good morning.”
Diana mumbled something that could have been a greeting but no one heard. They made for the SUV. David approached.
“Madam…”
Ifeoma turned to him.
“Madam, I want say sorry for yesterday”, he began. “I no mean vex you. I just no get any person wey I fit tell my problem.”
Ifeoma raised her brow.
Abeg ma, forgive me. I dey thank God every day say I dey work for you. Abeg no sack me.”
Ifeoma gave him a half smile. But inwardly she was very pleased. David had a good heart. “Don’t worry, I’m not sacking you.”
“God bless you, Ma.”
“You too.”
As she drove off moments later, a feeling of guilt washed over Ifeoma. Maybe she had not treated David as good as she could have.

David walked home totally damaged. He couldn’t believe what had just happened. The woman he always thought was so nice, so generous, so grateful what he did for her, had suddenly turned hostile. It was hard to imagine. She was no longer his good big sister. Infact she had treated him like other people had always treated him – with disdain. She hated him. She was his last hope and now she had abandoned him.
If only David was wise, he would have known or thought that something had happened to upset Ifeoma moments before he approached her. That she didn’t hate him. She had only been feeling vulnerable at that moment and was protecting herself. The truth was that later, Ifeoma would regret lashing out at him. But David didn’t think of all that. All he thought was that Ifeoma had denied him the chance of a glorious love affair with Nkechi. She had become the enemy, the stumbling block to his progress.
David neither worked nor ate for the rest of the day. He locked himself up in his room and thought of what to do. He analysed his situation carefully. He must have Nkechi even if it meant doing something terrible. Thoughts of her had darkened his mind. He realized that he must do something fast.
He was going to commit a crime.

The moment he asked her, he realized he had made a mistake. Madam was clearly not in a good mood. Something had happened to change her mood. First, when he walked in, she had been on the phone screaming angrily at someone over money. Now she was nearly screaming at him.
“You people always think that my money is an ocean. That’s why everyone wants money from me. Is it because I give? Am I a bank? Give me, give me, every time. Well, I don’t have money! 50,000 naira!! How can you ask me for that amount of money? Did you not know that your house rent was expiring since? What happened to all the money I’ve been giving you? You spent it all and just assumed I will dash you 50,000? Just like that?!”
“But madam, I go pay back. I go work free for 3 months.”
“Nonsense. I’ve told you, I don’t have money. Now get out before I fire you this very minute. And don’t ever ask me for money again!”

Nothing can spur a foolish man on like the desire for a woman. His lust for Nkechi made David hustle so much the following week. But it was not to be easy. Things were simply terrible. There was no work. By Thursday, two days before the week was up, he had on 4,000 in his possession. He had denied himself life to save up, spending less and barely eating all to satisfy that devil between his legs. He became sadder than ever as hope dimmed.
But being a smart boy, always ready to grab any opportunity that came by, he quickly recognized one…
On Thursday morning, a public holiday, he was washing madam’s SUV when she drove in. she parked the Camry. David looked and saw her open the glove compartment and extract rolls of 1,000 naira notes. She closed the compartment, put the money in her bag and stepped down.
“David, why the sad look? Wetin happen?”
David put on his saddest face. “Madam, nah nothing.”
“No, it can’t be nothing. Tell me.”
“No worry, Ma. Nah nothing.”
Ifeoma shrugged. “Okay, if you say so. Please clean the inside of this one. It’s dirty.”
“Yes Ma.”
Later as David cleaned the inside, he thought about madam’s concern. Maybe it could work. Maybe she could help him. She had been good and generous. She was rich too. 45,000 was peanuts to her.
He turned out the keys in the glove compartment. Those were the spare keys to the house that madam kept there for safety. He cleaned the glove compartment, put back the car particulars first then the spare keys. He was done. He took a deep breath and headed to the house.

It was Saturday and David refused to go to work. He didn't even go to Ifeoma's house. He sat outside, staring into space, still saddened by the insults of yesterday. He was totally unaware as Nkechi walked up to him.
"David", she whispered.
He turned to her, then looked away. What did she want? Hadn't she insulted him enough? Even though he was filled with hatred, her presence still affected him.
"Can I talk to you?"
"Wetin you want?"
"I want to say sorry for yesterday", she whispered softly.
David couldn't believe his ears. It was not just her words but also the tone. She was indeed sorry! He melted. But his face remained cold.
"I didn't mean to insult you", She continued. "I'm sorry."
David remained silent. Then Nkechi surprised him by sitting on the floor beside him.
"Things are just not good at home", She whispered. "I'm scared."
David totally melted. He knew it. Something had been troubling her. That was why she had been acting up. Well, he was her man even though she didn't want him yet. He would save her. Whatever it was, he would help her.
"WAEC is close. I have big problems and my dad said he doesn't have money. That's why you saw me with that man. He promised to help. I'm not doing anything with him. I just need his money."
"You need money and you no tell me?" David finally said.
Nkechi gave him a very sad look. "You don't understand. I need big money. You can't even help me. I need to sort my WAEC. 9 subjects. 5,000 per subject. I can't fail WAEC."
David was taken aback. That sounded like a lot.
"I need 45K. That's too much. I didn't know how to get it."
David seemed so sad. That was more than he had ever seen in his entire life. So this was exactly why he was below her. He clearly couldn't afford her. If he couldn't give her 45,000 then he couldn't make her his.
"The man nko? Him give you?" he asked softly.
"Not yet. He keeps promising. He said he has to sex me first", she moaned sadly. "I can't sex him. No man has ever sexed me." She turned away to not betray that lie. Nkechi had been laid more times than she could count. Infact, for big boys, she was a very easy lay.
David was easily fooled. He couldn't believe his ears. His angel was still a Virgin, ripe and waiting for him. In that moment of foolishness he blurted out, "I go give you."
"What?" Nkechi seemed shocked. That was totally unexpected.
"Just give me one week. I go give you."
"Why?"
"Because you be my baby. I go do anything for you."
"But where will you get such money?"
"No worry", he said confidently. "I just need one thing. If I give you, you go gree be my baby?"
This is clearly not going according to plan, Nkechi thought. She had merely meant to frustrate and discourage him. Now this poor, dirty boy was offering her 45,000 to sleep with him. She did not really need the money. She had never seen nor dreamt of 45,000 and she was sure the boy had never seen such either. Now she had a decision to make, to play along or come clean. She thought fast. If she came clean, the boy would persist in his chase. If she played along, what if the boy brought the money? Should she take it and let the boy have her once? The thought disgusted her. The boy was dirty. How could she lower her standards? But then there was no way the boy could get 45,000. Best to play along. Then when he failed, she would finally get rid of him. She was sure she would fail.
"If you give me", she said with fake sincerity, "I'll give you myself body and soul. Any time you need me."
David felt his heart explode. His wish would finally come true. At that moment he swore that come rain, come shine, he would give her the money.

Also unable to sleep that night was Nkechi. She lay staring at their ceiling in the sitting room of their overcrowded one bedroom apartment. Two younger siblings slept peacefully by her side. Her parents and the last child, a two year old girl, slept in the bedroom. It was just too hot for comfort.
She was tired of poverty and wanted to escape. Escape really fast. She had always dreamt of a good life and she believed she would get it. After all she was pretty and she knew it, with a figure to kill for even for one so young. Wasn’t beauty God’s greatest gift to woman? She would use her looks to get everything she ever wanted.
At 15, men were already flocking around her, real men not boys her age. Men, shameful creatures, she thought. They all wanted her tender womanhood. And she made them want more. She had become a youthful femme fatale. She teased and seduced and milked men dry. And when she gave her body to them, she did so to pretentious innocence that aroused men more and made them want more. She was sharp and oddly experienced at her age so she had them at her mercy. They were slaves to her and they would lift her up from this poor existence.
Nkechi dreamt of fast cars and cool apartments; expensive clothes and latest Blackberry phones… It was 2010 and Blackberry was the rave of the moment. She wanted and would get them all from men. She thought about her latest catch – he was rich and generous, married but she didn’t care. Those were the kind of men she needed, not that dirty illiterate…that bricklayer David. She screwed her nose in disgust. The boy was clearly dreaming and he wouldn’t stop pestering. Never would she give in to him. But he was becoming too annoying. She needed to get rid of him totally. She needed a plan.

She thought for a long time about what to do. By morning she had a plan.

The pain he felt that night was unbearable. He felt worthless and cursed. Her words echoed endlessly in his head. He was nobody. For once he hated his parents for being poor. He hated his lack of education. And he hated Nkechi for looking down on him. He swore to show them all.

For once David had a masturbation free night.

PART 6: THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS.

Months and years later when he thought about it, he pondered a series of what ifs… If only he had been wiser; if only Nkechi was not so beautiful; if only he had not met the kind woman; if only he had gotten rid of his obsession… if…if…if…
For days and weeks the obsession grew. He tried to get her attention. First, every morning before he left, he would accost her on her way to bath and dress for school. He would give her 500 for snacks and transport. She never rejected the money but never gave in to his advances. Next he tried to buy her gifts. She bought her a cheap perfume one day, biscuits and juice the next day, a fake gold necklace days later, and then topped it off with a set of dozen panties. She smiled sweetly as she accepted them but turned to stone when he suggested she try them on in his room.
He dressed neat to please her. He made big promises. Nothing could get him anywhere so he became frustrated. One night, coming home late from work he was surprised to see her alight from a shining car few blocks from their compound. He quickened his pace, enraged more by the sight of shopping bags she clutched. As the car drove away he accosted her.
“What?” She quizzed, stone faced.
“So nah car dey shack your head abi?”
“What do you mean?”
“Nah so you go dey follow man. Nah why you no gree for me, abi?”
“Nonsense! David or whatever you call yourself, who I follow is not your business. I’m not your girlfriend and will never be. You’re not my level. Nonsense.” She hissed and stormed away. David was left devastated.

David set to his new part time job diligently. Every morning, he would appear at Ifeoma’s compound by 6 am, wash whatever car she used the previous day, sweep the compound even when it seemed clean, and then water the gardens.
Since she usually left work by 7.30 am, David was given a spare gate key so he could complete his daily tasks in her absence. Such was the trust he had earned. Despite the fact that Ifeoma was a careful lady, she had quickly decided that David had a good heart. His only fault was his status.
And she was generous in her compensation. Every morning she gave him 1,000 naira. It was nothing to her. Her business was raking in millions monthly. For saving her SUV from probable loss, she was grateful to her and would show it.
For David, the money became his fixed income. He would no more go hungry. Work didn’t always come so it was nice to have this one. Every day, after cleaning, he would go hustle for work. If there were none, he managed what he got from the woman.
In his free time he thought about Nkechi. But she ignored him still. He didn’t know why. All his efforts and promises were in vain. And soon he found out. It was the revelation one night that set him up for destruction.

To be cont'd...

She never came back. Infact she stayed out late till past 9 pm. He waited outside. When she returned, she mumbled something about things taking longer than planned. There was a half-hearted apology and an excuse about it being too late when he suggested they go to his room. Moments later, she disappeared into her house, leaving him frustrated.
That night as always, he was unable to sleep. He schemed and fantasized and jerked off till his phallus got inflamed. Then around 4 am he slept. In his dream they had sex under an imaginary shower in a palatial home.

“Won’t you let us in?” Nkechi quizzed.
Us? David paused. That was when he noticed the thin, bland looking girl standing beside Nkechi.
“Oh. This is my friend, Chinenye. I hope you don’t mind that I brought her along?”
Sure, David thought, by all means come with your friend. He mumbled something as he let them in. disappointment washed over him. His hopes of having sex had been dashed.
The girls stood in the room.
“Chinenye, this is my neighbour David.”
Just my neighbour? David thought. He suppressed his anger. The thin girl said something but he was not listening. “Please sit.”
“Uhm”, Nkechi started, “We can’t really stay. Her parents sent us on an important errand. Just give me the money and we’ll go.”
“But we talk say we go…”
“I know but something came up.”
David seemed unsure. This was not how he planned things. Then Nkechi stepped close to him and whispered in his ear. His ears froze instantly as she came close. The feel of her was electrifying. Her breasts lightly brushed against his chest, sending shockwaves of pleasure through his entire body. A low groan escaped his lips as he gave up control and plashed sperm inside his boxers. The medium stout was obviously not enough to prevent premature ejaculation. Gosh the desire had been too much.
Nkechi was smiling innocently. “I promise”, she said.
“Huh?” he asked foolishly.
“I said I’ll come back alone later but I need the money now.”
“Okay. Okay.” He counted out 10,000 naira and gave to her.
The thin, bland girl was amazed at what had just transpired. Nkechi winked at her and they left as quickly as they had come, leaving David standing foolishly alone with his thought. He heard the sound of their giggling outside. He didn’t know they were making fun of him.

The wait seemed like ages but worth it. David had never been so excited. He couldn’t believe his luck. The girl of his dreams was coming to visit. He was finally going to have the real thing. Goodbye to abusing his hungry phallus with his coarse hands.

And he prepared for it. First he washed down one bottle of medium stout for he had heard it helped with performance. Next he cleaned his room like never before. He sprayed his newly bought Hausa perfume until the entire room stank horribly of it. He arranged things and hid dirty clothes. He bought a pack of juice. He was ready.

He waited. He already had a hard on while fantasizing of how he would have her. He imagined having endless sex with her till they were both tired and satisfied. As always he got an insane urge to jerk off but he resisted that. The wait was over. Why spoil the imminent sex with jerking off? He was tired of that. Surely, it couldn’t be compared to the real thing.

But the wait became too long. Hours passed but no sign of her. He got sad, paced the room, jumped at every sound outside, only to run out and be frustrated by the sight of some other neighbour. At long last he gave up. She was simply not coming.

He lay down and tried to sleep but sleep would not come. He decided to go out and burn his cash. He would get drunk and forget his sorrows. Maybe he would forget her.

As he made for the door, he heard a knock. His heart jumped. He instantly opened. Nkechi stood there, pushing her teasing breasts towards him. Time stood still as his heart erupted in joy. At last, she was here!

PART FIVE: THE GROWING OBSESSION.

Loaded with cash, David finally confronted Nkechi.

“You dey avoid me. E no good. Upon love wey I get for you”, he wailed.

Nkechi looked him over. He was looking different – new clothes, a haircut, he even smelt of some cheap Hausa perfume. Something seemed to be going on in his life. She glanced around the compound and felt satisfied that they were alone.

“I’ve had problems”, she said curtly.

“And you no tell me? Me wey love you and ready to make you happy.”

“You can’t afford me.”

David laughed. “Baby, I fit give you anything wey you want. Just be my girl.”

Nkechi looked him over again. He was clearly not her class, which was why she avoided him. But the boy was a dreamer and wouldn’t quit trying. Well, if he wanted her, then she would make him spend on her.

“I need 10K.”

David paused. That was a lot of money. But he had 21,000 naira left in his pocket. He was rich. He looked her over again. She was damn sexy. She wore revealing clothes, breasts almost popping out from her flimsy top. As usual she wore no bra. He could see the outline of the nipples begging to shoot out. He imagined his fingers grazing them. He instantly had a half erection as he stared shamelessly at her breasts.

“Hey!” she almost screamed. “Wetin you dey look? Will you give me or not?”

“Yes. Yes. Small thing.” He thought quickly. This was his chance. “But you go spend time with me for my room.”

“Okay but not now”, Nkechi simply replied.

“When?”

“I want to visit my friend first. When I come back.”

“Okay. I go wait.”

For 5 days David worked hard at the compound. He arrived promptly at 7 am and worked till 6 pm. He impressed Ifeoma so much from the first day that not only did she feed him 3 times daily with food from her table, she also trusted him quickly enough to hand him the keys to the gate so he could work even when she was not at home. It was not difficult to gain such trust. David was kind, truthful and hardworking. He was also not into the vices of youth. David’s only vice was his lust for Nkechi. It was not lust for girls in general; his eyes were only drawn to her. She was his Mona Lisa, his Holy Grail, and the Virgin Mary. He wanted her and no other. But she still ignored him.
So he worked hard. In those 5 days, he did great at interlocking. He also learned a lot about his benefactor. She was a widowed mother. Friends hardly visited. She lived alone with her quiet daughter. No maid. No security. Odd for someone in such a big compound. He felt sad that after 5 days it would be over; he would no more see her. He had come to like her as a big sister. If only he could find a way to keep visiting.
On the last day he took his shot. The job was over. Madam counted out 25,000 and handed to him. He beamed in delight.
“Ah thank you very much Ma.”
“You did a good job”, she replied with a smile. “If you keep this up you’ll make it in life.”
“Amen Ma. But ma, I want ask, why you no get gateman?”
Ifeoma stopped smiling. After the incident she had moved out and sold their house. And when she had moved into this one, she had decided not to hire any gateman or maid. She preferred to be alone with Diana. People were hard to trust.
David noticed her discomfort. “Sorry Ma, I just dey think how I want help you. I fit come dey wash cars for you, sweep compound and water garden.”
Ifeoma smiled again. The boy was kind indeed. “What about your work?”
“That one no be wahala. I fit dey come early morning before I go work.”
Ifeoma thought for a moment. “Okay. It can work. Thanks again.”
David was pleased. The woman was god sent.
Literature / Re: How Lust For A Teenage Girl Ruined The Life Of An Innocent Boy by krimes: 12:37pm On Nov 16, 2015
Ifeoma walked past Diana who was engrossed in her cartoons on the 65 Inch Smart TV in the fabulously furnished sitting room. She went straight up the stairs to her room, gently closing the door. Next she undressed and went to take a warm shower.
For a woman in her mid-40s, Ifeoma was still well structured and firm. That was because she dedicated at least 3 times weekly to rigorous exercise and ate healthy. She was 45 but could pass for 35. And even at that age, young men in their 20s still ran after her. Much older men were no exception either. They all wanted her attention. Attention she had refused to give for 10 months since the incident…
As the water ran over her smooth, naked body, Ifeoma felt a stab of pain and sadness as she recalled the incident. She could never stop thinking of it. Every day was a reminder of her loss – that unforgettable night when she got the phone call that changed her life; the sight, barely an hour later, of the cold, hard dead body; the realization that the man she had loved, had married and built a good life with was no more.
She towelled her body dry, walking back naked to the room. She sat at the dressing table and instantly set her eyes on the small framed photograph of her husband, she and their daughter. A once happy family until unknown assassins trailed her husband to the front of their compound and pumped his body full of bullets. A tear rolled down her cheek as she remembered his last words over the phone…
“Honey, I think some men are following me…”
Minutes later she had heard the gunshots that terminated his life.
No one knew what really happened or why. The assassins were never found. There was simply no lead. Ebuka was a business owner. Sure there could have been competitors but there had been no enemy as far as she knew. The police was still investigating but not as enthusiastically as before. The case had simply run into a dead end.
The effect on her had been terrible but was worse on the once lively Diana. At 4, she just couldn’t understand that she wasn’t going to see daddy ever again. So she became a sad, quiet girl, wrapped in school work and cartoons. As for Ifeoma, she resigned her bank position and took over her husband’s businesses. She grew and fought for it and now she was holding on.
Ifeoma shook off the sad thoughts. She quickly dressed and made up. It was time to face the day.

PART FOUR: A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE

Interlocking stones. That was the job. There were piles and piles of it next to heaps of sand and bags of cement. David seemed excited. He had never done interlocks but it was small potatoes to him compared to bricklaying. But the compound itself was big. It would take him one week. But to impress her he said:
“I fit do am for 5 days.”
Ifeoma, dressed in house clothes, nodded. “I had someone that was supposed to do it but I’ve not seen him for days.”
“Nah my luck”, David said, “I go do am well.”
“I believe so. Now let’s talk about money. I believe you get paid daily.”
David nodded. His current market wage was 2,000 daily so this would fetch him 10,000.
“I will pay you 25,000.”
David’s jaws dropped. “What?”
“5,000 daily. 25,000 for the 5 days.”
He couldn’t believe his ears. That was more than double what he earned. “But madam…”
“I know but you deserve it. You saved me yesterday”, Ifeoma said re-assuredly.
“Ah, God bless you Ma. I go do am well well.”
“Oya get to work. Come to the house if you need anything.”
“Yes Ma.”
Ifeoma walked away. David was beyond delighted. 25 cool thousand! He was already on his way to the top. Now he would win Nkechi’s heart. He quickly surveyed the house. The woman was loaded, he thought – an elegant duplex, ornately styled, rows of boys quarters seemingly empty, an equally unused security house. An SUV, A latest model Toyota Camry and a Honda Accord parked side by side at the car port. Everywhere smelt of raw cash.
He wished he was in her husband’s shoes, to be rich and happy with the love of a beautiful woman. He quickly set to work, wondering where the woman’s husband was at the moment…

The thought of her quickened the flow of his blood. He couldn’t forget what she had worn in the evening – a spaghetti top that showed him enough of her cleavage. She had worn no bra. Her breasts were so firm and round. He wanted to hold them, caress them, suck them and hear her moan, calling out his name and telling him how much she loved him. Then he would lift her short skirt to reveal the pleasures of heaven underneath. He desired to lift her on top of him like he had seen in a few porn movies. She would ride him hard, moaning and screaming, until they were both satisfied.
As always, he felt instantly aroused. Then he pulled out his phallus and started handling as he fantasized. In his head, they had wild sex. It didn’t last long. Within seconds he was groaning and splashing sperm all over himself. He sighed as he cleaned up. One day, he would have her. He would make sure of that. But how could he make his dream come true fast?
That was when he remembered the woman. She was rich and seemed generous. He wondered what kind of job she’d have for him. Maybe, she was the key to his blessings. He counted himself lucky as he finally fell into a satisfying sleep…

PART THREE: DESIRES OF THE FLESH.

That night, alone in his small dreadful room, David couldn’t sleep. The heat was enormous; the mosquitoes were merciless. But they were not the cause of his discomfort. He was used to the hardships of life. He had survived. He would survive. What pressed him more, denied him sleep, was the frustrations of the evening.
He had waited in vain to speak to Nkechi again. The girl had simply refused to give him attention. At some point she had even scolded him and told him to back off. It didn’t anger but motivated him more. What he felt for her could not be ignored. He must have her, earn her love and respect. He must make his mark in her life.
So he planned. To get that kind of girl, he needed money. Right now he was too small. He needed to work harder. That wouldn’t be a problem. David was a hustler. Sure he was young but the future was bright. After all, had he not bravely left his dreadful village months ago, abandoned the comfort of home to pursue a life in the capital. He had learned it all – bricklaying, masonry, plumbing, carpentry. He had worked at construction sites and shops and building projects. His dream was to become a foreman first then later own his own business with his own staffs. Then he would undoubtedly get Nkechi’s love and attention.

Nkechi said impatiently, “Abeg, if you don’t want to give me, I’m going.” She started off immediately, swaying her hips as she moved.
The sight electrified David. God, he thought, she sexy die.
“Wait!”
She refused to stop.
David thought fast. He still had 3,850 after paying for the beer. Sure he could give her 3,000. He could manage the rest till tomorrow. He hustled after her.
“Okay. I go give you.”
Nkechi stopped, turned and gave him a scolding look. “Common 3K is a big problem for you and you said you like me.”
David swallowed hard at the sight of her breasts heaving up and down as she breathed. “Sorry nah”, he mumbled, “My baby, sorry.”
“Who’s your baby? The money, please?”
David counted out the money and handed it over. “Abeg, make I see you later nah. You fit come my room?”
Nkechi gave him a cold look. “So because of common 3K you want me to visit you? Abeg, take your money back.”
“No. No. No. No worry. We go see later.”
Nkechi hissed disdainfully and left. David swallowed hard as he stared at her ample behind. He would a longing in his groin. He would get that girl.

Nkechi barely gave him a glance and continued walking. David walked with her.
“My name nah David. I dey live for…”
“Please what do you want? I’m hungry and I’m in a hurry.”
“Make I buy you food”, he said confidently.
Nkechi stopped. “Why?” She squeezed her face discouragingly.
“Because I like you.” His eyes settled on her breasts.
Nkechi burst into laughter. She laughed so hard that David felt ashamed. His confidence disappeared.
“You like me? Are you dreaming? You’re too small for me. You didn’t even finish secondary school. You don’t have money. You’re dirty. And you’re a common mason. And you like me. I have suffered”.
David had never felt so ashamed. In defence he blurted out, ”I get money”.
“Really? Can you afford to buy me fried rice at Nourisha?”
His confidence quickly returned. “Nah small thing.”
“With chicken?”
“Only?” He smiled coolly. He had money. Glancing at her breasts he said, “Go change. Make I take you.”
“No.”
David was taken aback. “No? I think say you dey hungry?”
“No you can’t take me there. I’ll go with my friend. If you don’t mind, just give me the money.”
David thought for a moment. This was not what he wanted but it was not so bad. If she took his money that would mean she had accepted his love. The money was a small price to pay. Soon he would be having real sex with her, no more jerking off with his hand.
“Okay. How much?”
The girl smiled mischievously. David melted foolishly. “1,500 per plate.”
“Small thing”, David said coolly.
“I will buy for my friend oh”, Ifeoma said innocently.
“Ah! That go be 3K!” David seemed alarmed.

PART TWO: AND THEN THERE WAS A GIRL.

Like most days, the rest of the day was uneventful for David. There was no work. Construction jobs were hard to come by these days. Everyone blamed it on the rainy season. But for once, David wasn’t worried.
At 2 PM, he was done waiting for work to come by. He had other plans so he arrived at his muddy, water logged, foul smelling street around 2.45. The street was filled with wooden kiosks and poor buildings. He sat in front of one of the kiosks and waited, bought a bottle of hot beer to look cool and felt good. Today was the day. He patted his pocket. He was still 4,000 naira rich, enough to last a few days.
He didn’t wait too long. Just a few minutes past 3 he saw her. He stared lustfully as she approached…
Dressed in a short, fitted uniform, hair stylishly cut low, already full hipped and endowed with sizeable breasts at just 15 years, Nkechi was the personification of the local IT girl on the street. At her age she was hot! She was the young Mercy Johnson, the fresh sexy teenager that boys her age and older than her jerked off over in the privacy of their bathrooms. And David was no exception. Countless times he had wanked over her while imagining himself and sometimes her on top of him. She stayed in his compound but as was common with pretty teenager, she pretended he didn’t exist. And he had never been confident enough to tell her how he felt. He couldn’t even get the courage to say hello.
But today was different. He felt confident. He had money. He had quickly gulped down his beer and at 17, one bottle was enough to give him confidence. He wasn’t much of an alcoholic and never did drugs.
Now he banished his fears and walked up to her. “Hello”, he mumbled.

They didn’t wait long. Ten minutes later, David appeared with the mechanic. A quick inspection revealed the cause of the leakage - a loose fuel pipe. It took less than 5 minutes to fix. Soon the car engine was idling.
“Madam”, the mechanic said, “your money nah 2,000.”
Ifeoma smiled. She could bargain for less but 2,000 was a small amount to pay. After all, like the mechanic also confirmed, the entire car could have been lost to fire, about 7 million naira wasted away.
As she took out money from her purse, David stole a glance. Bills of 1000 naira notes. It couldn’t be less than 30, could be up to 50,000. He looked away as Ifeoma paid the mechanic.
“Now how do I thank you, errm…?” Ifeoma started as soon as the mechanic had gone.
“David”, David supplied.
“Okay David. You helped me. What can I do for you?”
David smiled. “Nothing, Ma. Nah nothing nah.”
“Well”, Ifeoma said as she took out and handed him 5,000 naira.
David beamed in delight. “Madam, this one too much nah. Thank you Ma. God bless you.”
“No, thank you. You saved me.” She smiled. ‘’Okay, bye.” She made to climb into the SUV. Diana was already seated, eager to be taken to school.
David thought fast. “Erm Madam…”
Ifeoma turned to him.
“Erm… I dey do mason work, bricklaying, carpenter for house oh. In case you get any job.”
Ifeoma considered. “Okay, do you know Kingston Street, by Commissioner’s Quarters?”
“No. But I fit find am.”
“Then come to number 7 tomorrow by 11. I have a job for you.”
“Thank you Ma.”
Ifeoma smiled and entered the car. David watched as he drove off. He patted the cash in his pocket. Satisfied, he walked off.

PART ONE: A GOOD HEART.

Mz Ifeoma Okeke managed to park the SUV by the side of the road and muttered under her breathe. Mid 40s, divorced, well maintained, she could pass for 35. She glanced at her usually quiet 7 year old daughter, Diana. Diana, dressed for school, looked equally confused.
Ifeoma stared at the dashboard as she tried to start the engine. It sputtered but refused to start. She tried again in vain. A deep frown on her face as she looked around helplessly.
“Ah ah! What is this?”
She glanced at the road. Cars were passing oblivious to her plight. She tried again, silently willing the car to start but no way. Instead the engine groaned tiredly like the battery was dying out.
That was when she noticed someone. He was pointing at her car, under the engine. She turned to look…
It was the boy, named David. He was saying something, approaching from the other side of the road. The look on his face told her that something was wrong. So she quickly rolled down her window.
The boy, looking unkempt and far older than his mere 17 years of age, came closer. “Madam, fuel dey pour for your engine.”
“Oh my God!” Ifeoma screamed and quickly jumped down.
Diana looked scared and confused but stayed put.
A quick look under the car revealed it all: the road was soaked with fuel from her engine.
“What is this one now?” she wailed in despair.
“Ah madam you get luck oh. Your motor fit burn”.
“Thank you very much”, Ifeoma said to him. “Do you know what could be the cause?”
“No madam, but I fit call you mechanic. One dey for there.” He pointed.
“Thank you so much. Please do”, Ifeoma said.
Eager to help, David jogged off. Ifeoma quickly remembered Diana. “Sweety, come down fast.”
Diana obeyed instantly. They stood few steps away from the car.
“I’ll be late for school, mommy.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll get you there in time. Let’s just see what’s wrong with this stupid car.”
