Peace mass. God forbid! They killed my aunty some years ago as well. They are the absolute worst.

ABC and God is Good are the only ones I can enter these days. If I miss their buses, I cancel the trip or try again the following day.

Aus! Would dese immigration guys accept 3cartons of noodles, 4 ziplocks of beans 2 ziplocks of garri 5kg of semo 3 small pieces of poundo yam, frozen palmoil and a paint of yam flour?
dustydee:

I doubt they will allow you especially the palm oil. You can carry small quantity of some of those items as you can find all of them in the UK. The airport charges you may pay in Nigeria may not make it cheaper than buying here not minding the extra weight. Trust me you always want to travel light.
Forget o. I left in Naija and came into Aberdeen with indomie, garri, egusi, ogbono, knorr cubes, suya pepper, crayfish, bitterleaf, groundnut, iru and even native ogiri sef. I just couldn't be stopped mehn. I just gave the customs folks at naija the sweetest smile and told them I'm a student and the woman let me go like that (still can't believe my luck). Then my bags were not even checked in Aberdeen. I just picked up my bags from the baggage claim and left the airport like that. grin

So, if you can carry them (except for the palm oil, that might be pushing your luck too far), by all means go ahead.

@MrMarcus

Congrats. I agree with you, the VI centre is not even half as slow as people made it seem. Yours was even faster than mine. 9 working days? Wow! Congrats again, man.

Okay, that is cool and fast too considering all I had heard. But do you think it was that fast because you applied during the so called 'off peak' periods?
Perhaps that could be the reason. I wasn't even aware that July was an off peak period.

I seriously doubt you can get the next day as your appointment date. One of the reasons i paid 20k was because i could get an appointment date within 2 days. I paid and booked on 29th for 31st. But i heard with the free vac in v.i it could take about 2 weeks. I don't live and work in lagos so i don't have the luxury of waiting 2 weeks and i also had to apply on time so that if by God's grace i am successful i can request for study leave from my place of work within the stipulated 1 month's notice.

As for the 10-15 working days ish, i am seriously praying against it being that long. But that is what everyone was told.

Hope i was able to help.
Hmm! I applied in VI. I submitted and paid for my application on 01/07 and booked my appointment for 03/07. Infact, see below for my timeline of events.

Kriptic:
3rd July: Submitted my application at Churchgate, VI.
7th July: Application received in Sheffield, UK.
21st July: Decision made on application.
27th July: Visa picked up at Churchgate, VI.

I received a decision email on the 21st but my decision letter was dated 16th, meaning the decision was made even earlier. The process was fast IMO considering the fact that I applied through VI. I honestly wasn't expecting it that fast.

Guys pls I have a big issue. I have my birth certificate but it is laminated and I think I read somewhere that UK embassy doesn't like laminated documents. However I don't know if it is speculation or not so I got an age declaration (which I hate). My question is which one should I submit? D declaration or the laminated birth certificate. I am submitting my mother's bank statements too. Please someone should respond soon. My interview is tomorrow o.
Mine is laminated too and I still got a visa. grin

Hi everyone,
Please can someone explain the procedure at the TLS centre.
When I book my appointment, can I also book a time slot or is it that when I get there I'll join the queue of people who got there before me?
Plus if I book for my appointment and pay for my IHS before I pay the Visa application fee, does it mean that the date of my application will be affected? I wanna do this because the 28 day period for me ends on 17th August and I wanna book 19th August for my appointment date
Thank you
You'll get to pick a time slot when you book online.

As for your IHS question, see https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application/pay

MrMarcus:

CONGRATULATIONS.

what course are you to study?
Have you uploaded ur pics for student I.D?
There will be pick up sessions from the Airport @Aberdeen on 5th Sept. filled out the arrival/pick up forms on the new student web page.
Also you can book a flight to London first then book another flight from Heathrow to Aberdeen. You would be saving over 70k on the cheapest flight and over 100k from KLM and British Airways using such route.

Thanks.

See you in Aberdeen!
Yeah, I uploaded my photo about 2 weeks ago. I'll be studying Finance and Investment Management (MSc). You?

Thanks for the flight tip. As soon as I book my flight, I'll sign up for the airport pick-up.

Have you been able to register for classes yet?

Hello house,

I have been trying for the last few days to pay for my appointment online and I keep getting the message "sorry, your order is no longer payable. Contact the merchant with the following reference number....."..I have tried contacting their technical support group but those guys are complete dumbfucks who do not have the foggiest idea. Please who can advise me on how to get past this stumbling block? I'm getting very frustrated with this.

Yes it's best to have the passport there as they are abreast with the specification more than neighbourhood photo shops, but they are not perfect and can also make mistakes, so look at the passport before they print, about ikeja being faster, yes I agree it is faster than the VI center. Best of luck
Thank you very much.

Yes, they'll be lurking around the visa center. But the price is always on the high side
Thank you. I'd rather pay a higher amount with the certainty that the passport photographs will come out right. Also, I have read on a few places online that the visa processing is faster at the Ikeja center than the VI center. Do you know if this is true?

Good evening everyone.

Please, I would like to know if there are photo booths at the visa application centers in Lagos where I can take my passport photographs before submitting my application. The photographers in my area can't seem to get the specifications right.

Thank you.

Babez, how far?

First of all, I don't understand what the fuss is about. Bruce Jenner is just another transgender. In fact, I think his choice to change is very selfish. If you are going to change, change before you have kids. Change before you deceive women into thinking you are who you are.

Look at his kids. Imagine how this decision affects them; Their father is now their mother??

I bet you that if this was an African American family, Bruce and the entire Katrashian family will not receive the praises they receive in the media today. They would be called ghetto and all sorts of names.

Kim got famous from a porn tape. She got pregnant for a rapper while legally married to another man. Khloe married a coke addict and Kylie is a high school drop-out. She is 17 and dating a grown man aged 25; she is a social media slut who posts naked pics like her older sister for attention. Kourtney has two kids out of wedlock. Rob is an overweight bastard who is sexually attracted to his sister- Kim.

Bruce/Caitlyn is NOT a hero, he is not the first transgender and he would not be the last. Nothing he has done is courageous, he is selfish. After three wives and five kids, you realize you do not feel like a man? Fvck him to the power of infinity! He is a damaged man who failed his kids.

Preach! All I see from the whole Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner coverage is a perpetuation of white privilege.

The country is experiencing crisis. There is no fuel in the land. The economy is hard. Graduates under contract are earning N25k in banks.

And these three fools want us to support them with prayers. Like we don't have enough prayer points already.

He's right. Entry level full staff (the ones not on contract) earn that amount and more depending on the bank. It is the contract staff that earn peanuts.
