Crime / Unn Sacks No Fewer Than 15 Staff by krisjnr007: 4:54pm On Oct 11, 2019
Not less than 15 members of staff of University of Nigeria Nsukka, were suspended on 10th October, 2019 for their alleged involvement in job, admission, racketeering, and sexual harassment.

Their suspension is a bold statement of the current University administration's zero tolerance for corruption, misconduct and amoral behaviours among staff and students of the University. The administration will not fail to take decisive action on any staff or student whose action will drag the hallowed image of the university to the mire.

BasDost:

I can corroborate the second point of your first paragraph based on two personal experiences. First I happened to run across a person of high repute (well connected in the current government) who told me they were informed by a family member of mine that I had participated in the interviews conducted by the NNPC. When I acknowledged my participation, the person asked me if it were the first or second interview. I was dumbfounded and just said the interview conducted by the corporation. Later on, my insinuations based on that question pointed out to me that there “might” have been another interview session apart from the official one most of us particpated in.

Second a friend of mine gisted me about how one of his friends, whose dad is a GGM at the corporation, had not been shortlisted for the interview but ended up getting an interview call-up (not sure if it was the one we partcipated in or not) after his dad’s intervention.

Despite the irregularities that there “might” have been in the recruitment process, I really have so much good belief in it and it has been so from the onset. I strongly believe that merit will be hugely rewarded. The perpetual silence from the corporation and total lack of credible (100% reliable) information from so many individual sources of ours, I’m sure, is what is eating us all. I just hope we get closure anytime soon, prayerfully sooner than we expect, so that we can all move on with our lives be it a sucessful or unsuccesful outcome.

Your take is as good as mine. Let's pray and wait

Truth or lie I don't know but the rumor making rounds in the towers is that the new GMD NNPC groups, want to jettison this recruitment exercise on the grounds that it was marred with irregularities. On my own, I can not substantiate any compromise on the excercise, but I reliably heard that after we(NiG masses) finished our own interview section, a few person were hand picked for a special interview.

If you can recall Mekanti Baru was running things fast fast ,but since Mele Kyari assumed office, things has slowed down. Why?

Crime / Siasia’s Mother Still In The Hands Of Her Abductors After 55days by krisjnr007: 4:18am On Sep 09, 2019
The abducted mother of former coach Samson Siasia has yet to regain her freedom 55 days after she was kidnapped.

It was gathered on Sunday that 80-year-old Mrs Beauty Ogere Siasia was still in the kidnappers’ den and clues about her whereabouts had remained vague.

She was whisked away on July 15 by heavily armed gunmen who invaded her Odoni country home in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The bandits were said to have escaped with the octogenarian through the River Nun in a speedboat.

It was the second time in four years Madam Siasia would be taken away from her sleepy community by a gang of armed men.

She was abducted in November 2015 by a gang of gunmen who released her after spending 12 days in their custody.

Three days after the latest incident on July 15, the gunmen reportedly contacted the Siasia family and demanded the sum of N70m as ransom to set her free.

But on July 30, they reduced the ransom from N70m to N50m despite pleas by Siasia that he was jobless and that they should release his mother unconditionally.

A family source, who confided in our reporter on Sunday, said there was no information on Madam Siasia’s destination.

When asked the last time her abductors contacted the family, he said, “I don’t have any information about her. There is no information.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Mr Asinim Butswat, a Superintendent of Police, said the police were not relenting in their effort to rescue the victim.

MTN pulse and Airtel Smart trybe remains the best tariff. 11k/s across all networks. No rental fees.

Phones / Glo Gbam Now 0.15k/sec by krisjnr007: 6:11pm On Apr 01, 2017
GLO GBAM plan, which has being the cheapest tariff across network in Nigeria telecom industry has been adjusted upward without pre-informing subscribers. I noticed the change this evening while making calls. GBAM charges 0.11k/s to all network @ a daily rental fee of #5/d. I had to pot my empty hen line to glo because of the cheap call rates. Now that GBAM is 0.15k/s what is my fate.

Don't mind him, likely he made 3rd class and wishes to work in NCC. I have changed job about three times in my working career. , from bank to govt and now in telecom. There are jobs everywhere, but not for everybody.
