That is not the EGR valve, it's actually the EGR Vacuum Modulator. The one beside it is the EGR valve. The pipe blocked with the broom should go to the vacuum switch valve(vsv) which Toyota hid under the car(you go sweat to lose am if e don spoil) and another pipe should go from the vsv to the EGR valve. I have a 1997 Camry and me and Oga gazzuzz had to relocate the position of the vsv to some place more reachable. If connected properly you should see improvements in your gas mileage . I sha know it's all part of the breathing system of the car sha. Maybe oga gazzuzz fit help expatiate. My car has the P0401 code which I believe yours will have too and your check engine light should be on. I and Oga gazzuzz have tested the EGR valve and it works fine, changed vsv but yet to change that modulator which I hope will be the culprit of my check engine light

I own a Toyota Camry 2007 XLE 3.5Litres V6 Engine (2GRFE) 22 pin
Chassis Number : 4TIBK46K97U017641
When I engage the gear in REVERSE or DRIVE, there is a delay of about 3-5seconds before engaging. Also, while driving, gear selection is sluggish and erratic.
I did a comprehensive scan and got the P0748 error code.
I decided to change the gearbox entirely, but I was billed 750k for a 'Belgium' gearbox. I can't afford that right now. A mechanic said I could buy a 13pin and do a conversion from 22pin to 13pin. He assures me it would work perfectly.
This is a cheaper option an seriously considering. Kindly advise.

Before jumping to buying stuff that will cost alot of money. What has been the history of changing your transmission oil? You can start by checking the level of the transmission fluid and if the oil is very black instead of the normal reddish color. This could easily be fixed by flushing and replacing transmission fluid or not. Its better to always go from very easy to complex. I personally will avoid anything about conversion. The 'e go work am' mentality is not advisable. Oga Gazzuzz over to you

Hey guys. Please my passport will expire in May this year(2017) and am wondering if it is possible to have it renewed before then as I will be chanced after the Easter break. Anyone who has done something similar should please let me know. Thanks

So in the past month I have done a few repairs. Sadly I don't have pictures for all of them but i will make sure to put a picture where available. It is very important to state that some of these repairs were done by me personally , since I am trying to understand my car better while the others were done by some of Oga Gazzuzz's apprentice with me closely 'shadowing'. However all activities were carried out via the advisement and sometimes supervision of the Oga Gazzuzz. I hail.

So first of all my car has been making some very funny noises while driving on rough roads or interlocked road but maybe I didn't hear it or my bank account balance made me oblivious to the presence of such noise . But I was going to be travelling to Akure soon so I got in touch with Oga Gazzuzz and asked him to help me test drive the car and tell me if he notices anything. He went and immediately asked how come I could not here the noises that they were all over the place. E be like say na that time I come remember say I be dey here those things.

Now time for diagnostics, Oga Gazzuzz said
1. Remove the two front tires
2. Driver side bearings most likely is bad and needs to be change
3. Check your suspension links and sway bar bushing also.

Naso I start workooooo. On removing the tires it was as though Oga Gazzuzz don know the kind sound wey each part dey make when e don spoil because it was as he said. Driver side bearing needed to be changed cos it was making one ''woooooooo'' sound when driving, two suspension links don scatter finish and the sway bar bushing was bad as well. All of these were replaced by yours faithfully ME. But after i fitted everything and drove the car I started hearing another noise again. For my mind I say village people don show. But as soon as I called Oga Gazzuzz he asked me what does the noise sound like and were do I think its coming from? I explained it was still from the driver front side and he said I should look for a pan behind the wheel hub and make sure it is not rubbing on the tires. I did that but didn't get it on first try. However after more coaching from Oga Gazzuzz and Mr Sayo I found the culprit and I discovered that the car really was very noisy because it was now so quiet in the cabin while driving. However this joy was shortlived as another noise came after my trip to Akure........


Sadly there are no pictures to show the damaged parts. I will be back to post some more. Make I do small work before my Oga catch me

What is happening to our lounge? My baby (my camry tiny light) has been behaving fine and we are both happy. Learning more about her and what makes her tick. Please guys let's bring back the group. Will be sharing some experiences and repairs done on her soon.

So I have carried out the following diy on my car - 1998 Toyota Camry, 1mz-fe 3.0l.
1. Replaced rear left hand side ABS sensor - 'Kazeem' spoiled the original one while replacing the rear shock absorber..
2. Replaced both front and rear stabilizer linkage bushing
3. Replaced valve cover gasket and sparkplug seals
4. Replaced front and rear break pads.
5. Drained and replaced engine oil, replaced engine oil filter
5. Replaced air filter
6. Replaced timing belt, alternator belt and Power steering pump belt.
7. Replaced broken traficating light front
8. Installed aftermarket foglights.
9. Replaced spark plugs
10. Replaced ignition coil wires
11. Replaced broken ignition coil connector
12. Replaced ignition coil
13. Replaced stock dashboard lights with red led lights to match radio lights
14. Replaced stock radio and CD player with aftermarket
15. Replaced rear indicator light bulbs
16. Replaced headlight bulbs
17. Installed after market keyless entry system
18. Sanded and washed headlamps
19. Sprayed the front bumber

Outstanding diy
1. Install water pump, camshaft seals, idler pulleys and tensioner. Could not loose the rear camshaft bolt when I changed the timing belt, so am waiting to get the camshaft holding tool.
2. Replace valve seals - my engine smokes at start up.
3. Replace front passenger external door handle

That's about it
