Politics / Re: Lagos Begins Stop And Search Tax Policy. Slams N0.62m Tax On Luxury Car by kshow1(m): 3:24pm On Oct 23, 2009
proudly9ja:

I don't understand why people think Nigerians dont pay tax. For goodness sakes, we do!

Every one working in the formal sector in Nigeria is taxed monthly automatically from his salary. Everyone in the informal sector (artisians, traders, etc) pays one tax or the other to the local government.

Goevernment should tell us what they do with our money! If the Lagos State government can give us monthly breakdown of how they spend the tax we ALREADY pay, then maybe they can think of how to collect more.

THANKS A LOT

Please let for once stop comparing paying taxes in develop countries to Nigeria.
why will you want to pay tax when there is absolutely nothing to benefit from the government. NO GOOD ROADS, NO ELECTRICITY, NO GOOD HEALTH FACILITY,NO CLEAN PIPE BORNE WATER, EDUCATION SECTOR ON STRIKE,, UNEMPLOYMENT ETC.
This policy should be flushed down the drain.

i hope this governor that wants to milk everybody dry will not ask my grandfather to pay tax for his Volkswagen Beatles grin grin

Travel / Re: Can I Apply For Visa And Travel Out With A Pregnancy?5 Months? by kshow1(m): 12:22pm On Oct 05, 2009
Of course YES if its UK cos you will not appear, but be sure of how you will get in when you are eventually given the visa cos you might be turned back at the airport if immigration officers notice and are not convinced of your intentions. If you are eventually allowed in you will need to pay about 1,000 plus GBP for normal delivery or 3,000 plus GBP for CS and of course your child gets nothing aside from the british birth certificate.

Good luck

Who is better Drogba or Torres?

Dont compare them as they operate in different levels:
Drogba is a complete footballer, he withdraws to defend, collects the ball from his half and the rest his history.
Torres can only play in front of the box to the goal line.

So with this its like you are trying to compare sleep to death.

My guy DROGBA all the way.

asha 80:

Well someone once said just before independence only about 5% of nigerians were educated but after independence it has rising to about maybe 60%.How this reflects on the general nigeria is left to be seen

At independence we had only about 5 univeristies. Now we 'can boast about over 60 universities'.====== SUB-STANDARDED

Nigerians are now more 'urbanized' than before independence.===== WITH NO INFRACSTRUCTURE IN PLACE

A lot more nigerians can now speak english than before independence.====== PIGIN ENGLISH

We are still 'united'====== RELIGIOUS WARS
We are not fighting any war now meaning we still have 'peace'===== TRIBAL WARS WITHIN COMMUNITIES

We are the happiest country on earth.====== SURFFERING AND SMILING
We are very religiuos.===== COS EVERYONE IS LOOKING FOR A MIRACLE AT A WAY OUT OF POVERTY
We gave peace to other african countries who were at war one time or the other.====WITH NO PEACE IN OUR COUNTRY
we won the nations cup 2 times and olympics gold medal twice in 1996.

Damman miracle.=====WITH OVERAGED PLAYERS

We qualified for our first world cup 1994.

We have gained a lot in terms of promoting corruption
