The reason for banning some drugs may be to protect local producers of similar drugs. Thus origin and economics of these drugs may be a huge factor in the banning.

Also, malaria is not endemic to temperate regions and so the western world can afford to consider banning certain 'strong' malaria drugs.

Senate should do well to investigate the reasons behind the ban of each drug before querying our own consumption of said drugs.
