I landed in Toronto two days ago (fully vaccinated, negative covid test) and I had booked an airbnb for 28 days. On getting to the Airbnb, i discovered it was swarming with cockroaches. The owner has offered me a full refund but I have to check out tomorrow the 18th and i need somewhere to rent please. Any help will be very much appreciated.

I am a single, don't smoke or drink, neat, responsible, respectful, like to keep the house clean and I have enough money to take care of myself.

Yes car mechanics are in the demand. I don't think it is saturated. As a mechanic, you have the opportunity of starting your own business when you get your red seal. Infact, some mechanics earn well as apprentice and choose not to further their education to becoming journeymen. In addition to salary, a lot of apprentices fix cars for people as a side hustle.
