The problem with such ambiguous, nebulous, generalised grievance is that it is susceptible to interpretation depending on one’s financial status, economic ideology, ethnicity, etc.
So if you are from the regions who overwhelmingly voted for the current regime, you would be more inclined to give them more time to implement their agenda.
If you are from other regions, you would be less inclined to be patient, and be ready to hit the streets, while denouncing the govt as useless etc.
So you need a SPECIFIC grievance that everyone can relate to. Say inflation.
Or kidnapping.
Or power supply.
Until you become more FOCUSED, and concentrate on the single most pressing issue at any given time, you will not be united enough to hold nationwide demonstrations.
It certainly won’t be widespread as occurred in Kenya.
Iamgrey5: While go and protest in your region makes a lot of sense.
Despite our travels and inter marriage as Nigerians, every region in Nigeria is still about 70% indigenous, going up to 90% indigenous in some cases.
So it will be unfair for people from other regions to cause problems or civil disturbance for nearly 70% of people who are not particularly interested in the protest.
If it's protest about the federal government, I will support you go to Abuja and create enough problems for them their.
N
Thank you.
One thing many of these guys forget is that Lagos is not the capital of Nigeria.
If you want to protest, go to the nation’s capital and protest.
Or you can even go to your village and protest from there.
CyrusVI: You are Two-faced In the other threads where some Yoruba people said they were against the protest, you accused them of being tribal and that u would protest, but now that your brothers over there against it, this is all u have to say
You talk from every sides of the mouth. You are representing your confused people well
He’s a typical disgusting Obidient with no morals.
iLegendd: Your depression is hereditary. The moment I scanned and saw caps everywhere, I knew I'll never win an argument with a frustrated person.
My brother, whatever you said, you're right. I wish you and your lineage speedy recovery. I won't reply again because I'll never win someone who's emotionally invested and frustrated. For me, I have zero feelings. Even if you abuse me, I won't be mad at you, so I have to protect your fragile ego and feelings.
Kukutenla: cc: Dennisochampa It is from this thread I know most Nigerians have not seen a farm. What is innovative in that? It is obvious what they planted is either cassava or potatoes which Nigeria has an abnudant of. As a matter of fact, Nigeria is the biggest producer of both cassava and potato in Africa and yam in the WWW yet some people are insulting Nigeria here because of two Asians who look like they are playing with sand. Ignorance na disease tru tru
Franking: Nigerians are actually intellectually lazy. Imagine if Europeans or even Asians tap palms for their wine. The mode of tapping would have changed. But Nigerians have been tapping it the same way for centuries.
SEE YOUR STUPID COMMENT.
Indians and Pakistanis drink palmwine.
They call it ‘Toddy’.
You do know they have palm trees in “Asia”?
They tap palmwine using the exact same method as Nigerian tappers.
So what will you say now, Mr racial inferiority complex?
oluwaseyi0: Innovation is the bedrock of civilization
Unfortunately African do not naturally seek innovation like their counterparts in other continent
You are talking rubbish.
No country “naturally” seeks innovation. It all depends on govt policies. If govt policy encourages innovation by discouraging imports in particular, and vastly increasing power supply, innovation will be the order of the day.
Nigerians are very innovative.
Do you know how many inventions are lying fallow in our universities?
This is why I laugh when I see folks saying Nigeria should “break up and let everybody answer his father’s name”.
Once you do that, ALL THIS IS GONE.
Who will send your Biafra republic or Oduduwa republic or Arewa republic?
Unknown, mushroom republics?
It will take DECADES to build up any sort of credibility or international interest in your existence.
Even Ghana will become your boss.
What Nigeria is experiencing is the kind of international exposure that other countries often go to war to achieve, because it is a guarantor of all sorts of good things, from investment to tourism, to political influence, to cultural influence, that can transform your nation and make it a MAGNET of world attention.
VALUE IT!
Many Africans can’t stand the sight of Nigerians today.
They just can’t understand how we managed to become so big on the international scene.
The following factors affirm your irredeemable idiotic disposition.
1) Nothing is wrong with borrowing only if such borrowed funds are injected into critical sectors of the economy without being embezzled like your current thieves in Abuja are currently doing.
2) Considering the little time these scavengers have spent in Abuja, data shows that they are most likely to record the highest in the borrowing history of your country both the military and civilian govts alike and nothing to show for it at the end of their looting period.
3) They met inflation rate at 28.9% (which was still high), but today, your looting machineries have landed your country on 41% inflation rate and many more disaster your fellow yahoo politicians have brought in just one year of their looting competition
You are not even a Nigerian.
Who asked you to comment?
Have you finished eating your fellow Igbos?
Go and ‘sit at home’ where you belong, before Simon Ekpa sends his thugs to whup your asss.
iLegendd: You have a point, but sign of respect is when you visit someone personally, not when you invite someone. Putin visited Kim in N.Korea. He didn't stay in his office and say, "Kim, come to Russia."
YOU HAVE NO SENSE, JUST LIKE A TYPICAL IPOB MUMU.
Tinubu was invited on a STATE VISIT to China.
Do you know what a STATE VISIT is?
Do you know that a STATE VISIT which lasts for a minimum 3 to 4 days, is far more expensive, prestigious, and glamorous than Xi just flying into Abuja for a quick discussion with Tinubu?
Do you realise that Kim Jong Un would have MUCH PREFERRED a STATE VISIT to Moscow as opposed to Putin flying in to talk with him briefly?
Because you have a BUSH, VILLAGE MENTALITY, you are seeing it like a primitive villager for whom an invitation is a summons to see a ‘superior’.
Drop your village mentality. Geopolitics is very different from your primitive reasoning.
johnayo01: They Chinese don't care about us, they are only concerned about what they will squeeze from us. And I tell you the truth this lifeline they are about to give tinubu will not be in favour of the Nigerian people.
You talk so much RUBBISH.
Oh sure, Tinubu is just gonna fly all the way to Beijing and give Xi everything he wants, and receive nothing, or next to nothing.
After all Tinubu is a stupid man who is just happy to stand before Xi to take pictures, while dashing him all Nigeria’s wealth.
Ignorant, stupid school dropouts turned expert via Nairaland.
is nigeria not arguably China's biggest African debtor in terms of infrastructure?
is it not a case of creditor summoning debtor?
See how you reason like a fcking rat. idiot.
Every country on Earth borrows money including China and the US which are the world’s biggest debtor nations.
But none of the nations has ever described their various state visits to each other as “creditor summoning debtor”, except a stupid pig IPOB terrorist cannibal like you.
Bullfallo: Its very clear that Africans can nor longer forge ahead or run their annual budget without borrowing. For how long will they continue to borrow?. We are not at war yet we are borrowing like a country fighting war from all fronts. Civilization and modernization have consequences. Habe we gotten to the peak where African need to collapse to restart from stage age once again?
Look at what is happening in Kenya. Economy crisis and debts. Similar things to all over Africa.
My friend every country borrows money. Stop disturbing people.
KnowAll: How many times have you seen Afghanistan going to borrow. We need to look inwards. Grow what we eat and consume what we produce even made in Nigerian cars. The problem is we are obsessed with western Goods.
Do you know the Afghanistan’s repaired every single military hardware left behind including helicopters. And another thing because they did not buy things from abroad their currency is the strongest in South East Asia.
''The Taliban's recapture of Afghanistan in August 2021 has had dire economic, political, and security consequences. With the world's lowest living standards, Afghanistan is experiencing ongoing economic, health, and humanitarian crises, and food insecurity is especially acute.''
At times like this I miss Abacha and other military regimes. None of these countries ever messed with Nigerians during Nigerian military govts, because they knew there would be instant response.
If this was Abacha, just one phone call to that stupid Benin leader ordering him to release that Nigerian man or risk military invasion, would have ended the crisis.
