Another reason why black people are behind is resource dependency.

The reason why Japan is developed is because in the 19th century, they realized they were under threat from the West , and they also relaized that there wasn't enough land for their growing population and rice growing.

So, at the end, they began to industrialize.....to save themselves. Result, Japan is advanced.It took them a while.

Most African countries, have lots of resources. But they also have large land mass, and a population that wants to be fed...now. Telling them to suffer for a while while the Leader's industrial plans continue is not advisable. So, we sell resources, fund subsides, free education, and when the money runs out, take loans to continue.

Also, crucial to Japan, China and Singapore's development was the development of high standards of education...even way beyond what the West does. If we applied those standards in Nigeria, prep for WAEC would start at primary 5. Plus, we have a large uneducated class, and we need to educate as many as possible.(Not that government hasn't tried. El Rufai tried to bring Finnish standards to Kaduna state education, but he was labelled a demon for trying to sack teachers who did not measure up)

2. They would rather value other people stuffs than value theirs. They don't wanna hear what you have to say if it's not in foreign language or foreign culture.

Some parents will go as far as beating their children to almost death because he/she can't speak foreign language.

They don't value whatever is theirs. They see no importance in making it known to the world that this is who they are, they would rather be someone they are not. Cuz being who they really are, is disgraceful to them.

All you said are nothing but the truth. I believe its beyond our control, it has something to do with our origin, something is definitely wrong with the black man's origin and creation.

We are behind because when most African nations got independence in the 1960s, we had a problem

A large poor underclass, a tiny middle class and a even tinier rich class.

This meant that governments , most of which wanted us to advance as quickly as possible had two choices

1. A long period of industrialization which meant more suffering for some time. OR


2. Mass welfare projects like subsides and free education to bring as many people as possible to the middle class

We chose no 2. And the result was a huge welfare project built on a tiny revenue stream ( Corruption made matters worse).

Which forced us to take loans to keep up which led to debt and more debt.


We should have chosen no 1. But that would have meant that generations would have sacrificed in deep poverty before we saw the benefits.
