About 20 Nigerian nationals allegedly clashed with a 30-member police team from Koparkhairane police station on Friday.
According toIndiaTimes, the cops had gone to Bonkode village to check their passports and the two groups got into a physical altercation.
The police managed to arrest two men, David Tunga (28) and Oki Joy (32).
“We asked them to show us their documents and Joy could not produce his passport or visa. He claimed that the documents were with his friend in Delhi.
“There were five Nigerian women as well in the group, but they produced their valid passports and visas as well.
Two more Nigerian men sustained minor injuries as they jumped from the third floor of the building, when the cops raided the flat.
“They were admitted to the NMMC hospital, but fearing police arrest, they discharged themselves and have gone absconding. We are looking for the others,”said Senior police inspector Ashok Naik.

President Muhammadu Buhari says in fulfilment of one of their campaign promises, his declared assets and those of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will be released to the public upon the completion of their verification by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
It is hoped that this process will be completed before the expiry of the 100-day deadline within which they said they would do this.
The Senior Special Assistant, SSA (Media and Publicity), Mal. Garba Shehu who announced this in a statement on behalf of the President on Saturday, 6 June, said “the duly completed forms by both the President and the Vice President were submitted to the CCB on March 28th, a clear day ahead of their inauguration.”
He said this statement was warranted by the need to clarify some suggestions that the President and the Vice-President may not, after all, declare their assets publicly.
“While such public display of concern is appreciated and valued, it must be said that it is a little precipitate.
“As required by law, the declaration and submission of documents to the CCB have been made, but there still remains the aspect of verification which the Bureau will have to conduct to authenticate the submissions made to it.
“In the circumstances, it is only after this verification exercise, and not before, that the declaration can be said to have been made and validated; and only after this, will the details be released to the public.
“There is no question at all that the President and the Vice President are committed to public declaration of their assets within the 100 days that they pledged during the presidential campaign.
“The President and the Vice President wish to thank Nigerians for their show of concern, and for the confidence they have shown in their leaders’ integrity, as evidenced by the high pedestal of uprightness and expectations on which they have placed them.”

Shanay Walker was captured on CCTV cameras asking a shopkeeper for something to drink just hours before she was found dead at her home. The footage shows her running barefoot into a corner shop the night before her frail bruised body was discovered at the home of her aunt and grandmother.
The child was subjected to months of violent punishment by her 'strict' churchgoing aunt and suffered a 'sustained, vicious and brutal beating' before she died, a jury heard.
Her aunt, Kay-Ann Morris, 24, and grandmother Juanila Smikle, 54, were today June 5th sentenced to eight years and four years in jail, respectively, after being found guilty of cruelty.
Morris was cleared of murder after the trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
In the 46-second security clip, Shanay is seen wandering down the aisles in her pyjamas before stopping to speak to the shopkeeper behind the counter shortly before 9pm on 30 July last year.
The following day, her body, covered with more than 50 injuries, was found in her bed at the family home in Bestwood, Nottingham.
Shanay suffered regular punishments at the hands of her aunt and grandmother, who were given care of the child after her mother was forced to give her up following depression, the court heard
The child's death is now the subject of a serious case review by the Local Safeguarding Children Board, who will look at whether any opportunities were missed to protect Shanay.
The court was told how Morris, a Seventh-day Adventist, shoved food in Shanay's mouth and would strike her on the hands with a hairbrush.
Between July 2012 and July 2014, Morris would punish her niece by dragging her by the hair and stuffing clothes in her mouth. On one occasion, she threw Shanay into a wall after she stole water.
She also forced Shanay to eat food she did not want as a punishment for stealing food, and told the child to run up and down the stairs repeatedly, it was heard.
The court was also told that her grandmother Smikle had cruelty 'in her DNA' and had inflicted similar evil punishments on her own eight children.
Shanay's aunt, Kay-Ann Morris, 24, left, and grandmother Juanila Smikle, 54, right, were today sentenced to eight years and four years in jail, respectively, after being found guilty of cruelty
Smikle, 54, was found guilty of four counts of cruelty, and jailed for four years. Morris was found guilty of one charge of cruelty against Shanay and sentenced to eight years in prison.
Morris was also charged with murder but was cleared by the jury.

Death toll from the bomb blast that occurred at Jimeta main market in Yola, Adamawa state is now at an estimated 31 dead.
Mohammed Dodo, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Medical Center where most of the victims were taken to, said 22 persons are now in critical condition. The hospital management are calling for blood donations from members of the public.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency arrested a 46 year old businessman Tochukwu Prosper Nzom with 225 grammes of cocaine in his anus while preparing to board an Air France flight to Paris from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
When interrogated, 46 year old Nzom who hails from Anambra state and is married with two children, said he would have made $1, 500 if he had succeeded in trafficking the banned substance.
“I was drinking with friends when I heard them talking about drugs. I actually volunteered to smuggle drugs because of my financial situation. They agreed to pay me $1,500 because it was only three wraps weighing 225 grammes. I am from a poor home,” he said

A US indictment has alleged that South African officials allegedly paid over $10 million to host the 2010 World Cup.
Attorney GeneralLoretta Lynchsaid executives from soccer’s governing body FIFA took bribes in exchange for voting for South Africa to become the first African nation to host the tournament.
An indictment unsealed in New York alleges that former FIFA vice-presidentJack Warner, 72, diverted a “substantial portion” of the funds for his personal use.
The document claims that Warner and his family cultivated ties with South African soccer officials dating back to the early 2000s and the country’s first and thwarted bid to host the World Cup in 2006.
“At one point,” the indictment alleges, Warner ordered an intermediary to fly to Paris and “accept a briefcase containing bundles of US currency in $10,000 stacks in a hotel room” from a high-ranking South African bid committee official.
The intermediary, who was identified in the indictment as co-conspirator 14, boarded a return flight within hours, carried the briefcase back to Trinidad and Tobago and handed it to Warner.
In the build-up to the 2004 FIFA vote on the 2010 host nation, a representative of the Moroccan bid committee offered to pay $1 million to Warner to secure his vote, the indictment alleges.
Warner purportedly informedChuck Blazer, a former FIFA executive committee member, that “high-ranking officials of FIFA, the South African government and the South African bid committee” were prepared to make a $10 million bribe for their nation to win the bid.
As they were unable to make the payment from government funds, $10 million was sent from FIFA using funds that would otherwise have gone from FIFA to South Africa, the indictment claimed.
A FIFA official wired payments totaling $10 million in January and March 2008 from a FIFA account in Switzerland through New York to be credited into accounts controlled by Warner, the indictment says.
“Soon after receiving these wire transfers, the defendant Jack Warner caused a substantial portion of the funds to be diverted for his personal use,” the indictment alleges.
Warner, a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago, left FIFA in 2011 after being suspended by an ethics committee looking into corruption.
US citizen Blazer was allegedly promised $1 million of the bribe, but never received the full amount — collecting only $750,000 from Warner in payments made from 2008 to May 2011, court papers say.
Blazer, 70, has pleaded guilty.

Swiss authorities have confirmed the arrest of some top FIFA officials over corruption charges brought by the United States.
Six football officials were arrested in Zurich on Wednesday on allegations of paying and receiving millions of dollars in bribes, Swiss authorities said.
The Vice-president Jeffrey Webb from the Cayman Islands was among those arrested on the eve of fresh elections set to be conducted by the world football governing body.
The Swiss Federal Office of Justice issued a statement saying the arrests had been made at the request of US authorities.
“The US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York is investigating these individuals on suspicion of the acceptance of bribes and kick-backs between the early 1990s and the present day,” the FOJ statement said.
“The bribery suspects – representatives of sports media and sports promotion firms – are alleged to have been involved in schemes to make payments to the soccer functionaries – delegates of FIFA and other functionaries of FIFA sub-organisations – totaling more than $100 million.
“In return, it is believed that they received media, marketing, and sponsorship rights in connection with soccer tournaments in Latin America.”
