major heatwave sweeping across India and melting roads in New Delhi has killed at least 500 people. Fresh reports coming in indicate that the numbers have soared to at least 800 persons. Temperatures measure up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit).
Hospitals and medical centers have been on alert to handle victims of heatstroke and all heat related problems. People have been advised to remain indoors.
These heat warnings to several states were issued from the Meteorological Department. They informed the public that temperatures could top 45 degrees Celsius in days to come.
Spokesman B. P. Yadav said, “As of now, we don’t predict any respite from the extreme heatwave for the next few days.”
Streets are reported to be deserted in Hyderabad which is the capital Andhra Pradesh, southern India, the worst hit area. 551 people have died there in the last week alone.
P. Tulsi Rani who is the special commissioner for disaster management in the state said, “The state government has taken up education programmes through television and other media to tell people not to venture into the outside without a cap, to drink water and other measures.”
“We have also requested NGOs and government organisations to open up drinking water camps so that water will be readily available for all the people in the towns.”
231 people have died in Telangana state, a state which borders Andhra Pradesh in the south; temperatures there soared up to 48 degrees Celsius during the weekend.
Meanwhile, the monsoon will hit the southern part of the country by the end of the month and spread all over India.

This is in response to Lastonia Leviston suing 50 Cent for leaking it originally, but 50 says he didn’t and that if he loses the case against his ex, Rick Ross will have to take responsibility.
50’s defence is that Rick Ross said he will put the sextape online during a radio interview and the next day, the video was posted.
However, Leviston claims in her lawsuit that the guy in her sex tape gave the video to 50 who then posted it online because it would embarrass Rick Ross.

A 25-year-old British man who was shot in the chest with a shotgun during a confrontation outside of his home survived the event, thanks in part to his green iPhone 5c, which absorbed much of the impact.
The victim was seriously injured by the blast, but was able to return home to call emergency services thanks to the iPhone, according to ITV News. The man’s attacker was subsequently found guilty of attempted murder.
“[The attacker’s] actions that night were extreme and shocking – the victim went outside to speak to the group about the fact they had turned off the water supply resulting in the defendant shooting him with a powerful weapon,” Cheshire Police Detective Inspector Gary McIntyre said in a statement.
“Fortunately, the victim’s mobile phone took the brunt of the shot and, as a result of this, he survived. This is remarkable – had that phone not been in his pocket at that time he would undoubtedly have died.”
An image of the phone shows its polycarbonate shell severely deformed but ultimately un-punctured.

A couple at a subway platform in Boston yesterday were carefreely engaging in MouthAction as people passed by.
A man who was very disgusted by the act took a photo and shared it on Twitter and complained to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, demanding action.
“Dear MBTA, I understand you are having financial problems and it is difficult to maintain a broken system. However my tax dollars should be going to pay your police force because I shouldn’t have to stand next to a man receiving MouthAction.” he tweeted

According to media reports, doctors in Maryland, US, found a woman with a very unusual condition; she was born with two vaginas. The woman, described as black, has the vaginas side-by-side but only uses one - for sex. The other one, she's never used before, so that one is still considered a virgin. The lady told doctors that she menstruates out of both vaginas during her period.
Doctors performed a full medical exam on the woman and determined that both vaginas were fully functional and both or them lead to her single uterus, according to a report by MediaTakeOut. Aside from having two vaginas, everything else in the woman's anatomy is the same.

HIV experts have reportedly developed a pill that can prevent HIV from entering the human immune cells, and are urging public health officials across the state to help raise awareness.
HIV researcher, Bill Hardy, working with AIDS Resource Center in Dayton met with Montgomery County Health Commissioner Jeffrey Cooper on Thursday to solicit the health department’s help in spreading the word to doctors and local residents at risk of contracting HIV about the potentially life-saving benefits of‘Truvada’.
According to Daytondailynews,Truvada,is an HIVpre-exposure prophylaxis,it has been proven more than 90 percent effective in preventing infection when taken daily.
Both sides are planning to issue public statements soon.
“If they (health department) can be at the table, it kind of raises the gravitas and the importance of it,”Hardy said.
“This is a game-changer. It’s the next best thing to a vaccine. Can you imagine how many folks would still be alive today if we had this pill 30 years ago.”
Truvada,from drug-maker Gilead Sciences, combines two drugs that have been part of the anti-retroviral cocktail taken by HIV-positive patients for years, but it wasn’t approved for use outside that population until several years ago, Hardy said.
Truvadacosts about $1,000 a month, and most private insurance companies and state Medicaid programs will cover it, he said.
ARC’s Dayton clinic is already supplying Truvada to clients, who are also required to undergo routine HIV testing. But many people in high-risk groups are still unaware of the drug’s availability, Hardy said.
“People ask all the time: What if there was a pill that could prevent HIV?”he said.“Now there is one. People need to know about it.”
