See Mr Man. By percentage, the joblessness is the same. Graduate for medicine from the whole universities nationwide be 5000, when course like biz admin nationwide my be 30000
If 70% of them in both get employed . Biz admin would eventually have more leftover's it will 1500 and 9000 unemployed respectively

So you are likely to see more of the remaining bis admin roaming the street. If medical courses should take in much students as social science and arts then you will see it's actually the same

As for the bolded part, I will say it's your mind set. Running a bis is different from involving in a job, many people go into biz not because they didn't see job , but the pay the job offers can fit with present economic situation.

My elder sisters friend is a judge yet she runs a clothing boutique. I know lad technologist in warri who has up to 15 pos stands,We attend same church. Does it mean they are unemployed?. I go into business doesn't mean I didn't see job in my field, perhaps the job is can't foot all my bills hence I have to augment with something

you've driven your point home. Gracias!

but why can't people hide their ignorance? And if they ask this one now what Political Science entails and the opportunities it presents, I'm sure you will say it is about studying politics and since you can become a politician without studying Political Science then the course is useless. I am sure that will be your answer.
it is what your lecturers told you that still exists in the figment of your imagination. Reality will soon dawn on you.

That's not enough reason to rubbish options listed by someone, everybody must not study pharmacy. Moreover we still have some hungry pharmacists too.

Only few people actually live by what they studied, and what you study does not limit what you will become. most bank employees never studied anything bank related.

GEJ is a graduate of zoology, I think atiku studied intl relation, peter obi sef studied philosophy and see what this men have become. So life is beyond paper certificate
for every 1 hungry Pharmacist, doctor, nurse, radiographer, dentist, or opticians you will find 1 million hungry people in other fields. No matter how hungry we are we can never open a POS stand or sell perfumes to make ends meet.

Why not shut you mouth if you have nothing to say!
And in your supreme wisdom you think health course or tech is all there is out there?
English Language/ mass com: after graduation you decide to switch to science communication. You can do a PG in any science discipline. You will be outstanding.
You have many career pathways from these courses.....I mean a lot!
Point is nothing like a useless course, what do you know, what do you want.....how do you get there!
seems you studied on of the above course. A course that you will have to switch to something else or do pg or m.sc before you can put food on your table, In your very little mind riddled with hopelessness is what you call lucrative?

I studied Pharmacy n by God's grace I'm doing better than most of my colleagues in other fields. I'm not there yet it's a matter of time.

You don't have sense, health and tech are science based and perhaps the poster did art. In your mind now the poster should go back to sec sch and do science even when the aptitude for science not there. He/she outlined those courses and wants the decision based on them simple

You talk as if there are no hungry tech and medic practitioners in Nigeria. The joblessness ness in this country cuts across all sectors. And moreover that fact that you studied a course doesn't mean you will eventually live off it
you are a fool if you think art students can't digress to health related courses such a public health or even tech. Oga you are shallow minded, don't ever quote me again.

Many of those commenting won't understand your honest comment until they graduate and the reality will down on them.

In Nigeria, a lot of courses ought to be scrapped.

Political science is a useless course.

Mass Communication is useless today.

Op should go for English & Linguistics or English & International Relation.

Even abroad, if you want to survive without much stress, health science courses like Nursing, medicine, etc are the way
tnx for your understanding. One was even saying I'm frustrated.

Don't use your frustration to respond to questions, the person that posted it knows about health and tech,

those courses have same o-level requirements and that should tell you thats where the person has aptitude.

who is frustrated? Do you understand my comment or you want to reply because you have rubbish to say? I just gave my humble advice, it's up to him/her to take it or leave it.

They are also very useless abroad too. Not just in Nigeria. I have read of several people who studied these useless courses at Master lever abroad and have not been able to get any meaningful job. Some of them have gone ahead to do PhD in the same set of useless courses, but there is still no job.

Let's tell our brethren the truth, and nothing but the truth. The rate of success of graduates of those courses being successful in the same field is just about 5%, that is why several go into businesses of buying and selling.
you are on point Sir. But when you advise these younger generation on career path, they try to prove adamant and believe they can go for anything they like. One need to consider the situation of this country and your background before picking a career path. I had one very close to me with all my advice and counsel he went ahead to study public administration.

All of them are useless courses. In Nigeria if you don't have connection please go for health courses or tech. When I say health courses I don't mean anatomy, physiology.

Politics / Re: Expensive Diesel, Expansive Economic Crisis by Kwara1stson: 11:37am On Jun 28, 2022
Tianamen1:
Dear Author,

Nigeria's current problems with inflation stem for decisions made in the last 12 years. Decisions such as GEJ not saving funds in the excess crude account, to Buhari not raising taxes on the rich and/or reducing recurrent expenditure (reduced compensation for public servants and reducing the number of MDA's)

Nigeria's future problems include the shift to renewables which is being hastened by the Russian invasion of Ukraine as you rightly noted.

Between 2011 and 2014, crude prices average over $110 per barrel and the local cost for a liter of petrol without subsidies in naira was about 140(the amount GEJ set it to before the subsidy protest). the increase in price of diesel isn't as a result of crude oil prices but as a result of the reasons I stated in paragraph 1.

As Milton Friedman said " inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon", so it is true that Nigeria is on a path to hyperinflation because it cannot focus on handling its macroeconomics issues.

You correctly identified the problem, but your solutions would not work.

Nigeria needs to raise taxes on imported goods such as cars, phones, building materials. Basically, tax things that rich people spend money on apart from food, to limit the demand for dollars within the country. This will aid the accretion of our foreign reserves and excess crude account, thus stopping the bleeding of the Naira.

The government should also consider reducing the cost of governance by reducing the number of MDA (implementing the Oronsaye report) and reducing public servants allowances and pay.

This is how to reduce the price of diesel.
your thoughts are very lame and crude.

Still blaming GEJ after 7 years? Something is definitely wrong with you.
the yeye boy said they should even reduce civil servant salaries and allowances which can barely take them home. He never mentioned reducing the bogus salaries and allowances of senators, house of reps, govnors and president including removing pensions of politicians.
