Politics / Re: Al-Hassan Spells Out Punishment For Ese Oruru’s Abductor by Kx: 9:58am On Mar 01, 2016
Whats most disappointing in Ese's case is the fact that no Naija Delta Militancy group stood up or spoke against the child abduction simply because it would not enrich the pocket of the militants, yet they claim to be fighting the course of the NDians.

Politics / Re: Petrol Price In Saudi Arabia: Can Nigeria Go This Far? by Kx: 2:06pm On Feb 29, 2016
Pls dont crucify the op.

Whether 1 riyal is N48 or whatever amount is not the issue here.

The point being made is that fuel from an oil producing saudi arabia costs 50% less than bottle water.

To bring the argument home; it implies that a litre of fuel in Nigeria should cost at least N25p.l since bottle water costs N50.

Will the 21 flats use 21 decoders perhaps with the 8way lnb or how would u guarantee that flat 17 can independently tune to ss3 while flat 13 can on its own switch to any channel of choice?

This is exactly what is needed in ibo land.

Develop ibo land first and foremost before any other place.
Shame most ppl sink all their development drive in lekki, banana, vi and Abuja when they don't even care about a room in their homeland.

OIL Oil,oil oil oil!!!!
The countries that dont have oil but still maintain and sustain their currency valuation over time, how come the value of their local currencies against the dollar is not experiencing what naira is going through?

Excessive importation, greed and speculative activities is the bane of our naira, not fall in intl price of crude.

Its a shame that we blame God's gift in the form of oil as the beginning and end of our problem instead of blaming poor leadership and management of the proceeds of the natural resources.

RaptorX:
Anybody that believes that this was as a result of a bomb that went off in storage, needs their head examined. Most likely this was a suicide bomber, but since boko haram had been "defeated" it has to be a bomb in storage. Live bombs are normally detonated on site not stored inside police station.

Really, how about the bombs that exploded in the Army Armory in Ikeja cantonment some yeas back: where they not "stored" in contrast with your theory above??
It's amazing how every Nigerian are now security experts because of boko; pro devaluation economic experts because of forex.

Business / Re: How Much Did You Exchange The Dollar For Today? by Kx: 12:56pm On Feb 25, 2016
stagger:

Sheraton Abuja. But the rate was fluctuating so much that in different cities it was at 295, 235, 240, 270, 265, etc. No single uniform rate or rate band and this is all a sign of choppiness. It is only by next week that we will have a steady band across the whole country.

But in my view, the pressure on the Naira will continue and the CBN will be forced to make a decision about the exchange rate very soon. The question is, for how long will the CBN continue to use the foreign reserves to defend the Naira? Switzerland could not do it with their Euro/Swiss Franc peg, Japan's interventions to stop the Yen from strengthening could not do it, and I don't see Nigeria being able to do it when there is virtually only one source of USD for the central bank which has dropped by 65%.

A renewed speculative attack on the Naira will occur and the CBN will be forced to devalue by the time the foreign reserves drop to $18bn. I don't see a way out here unless Nigeria decides to stop the importation of petroleum products which presently accounts for about 70% of Nigeria's foreign exchange usage as a very radical measure.

Frankly put, Bubu is in trouble and he knows it. That is why he is running all over the world looking for money.

Bros, please throw more light on this.

If we devalue to say N320 officially to the dollar, if another round of speculation "sheles" thereafter, does it mean we should devalue then again to say N500 or N600 as the case may be?
Are we saying at the slightest drop of a hat, our reaction should be to devalue?
If we adopt that as a policy, for how long shall the devaluation exercise last?

Floating the rate one might argue, but what exactly does am import driven nation stand to gain from a floating rate forex regime even with our own greed driven experience?

Sports / Re: Any Reason Man-City Players Ignored Iheanacho's Goal? by Kx: 10:00am On Feb 15, 2016
Pellegrini went public with the news that he had to sell two "senior" city players- Jovetic and Jecko maybe because of the potential he saw in Kelechi.

It appears that news did nt go down well with current crops of city players who might have felt the presence of omoshes, the likes of Kelechi,
would threaten their place in city squad.

I feel not celebrating with kelechi is city senior players way of showing their anger against pelegrini amongst other reasons. It also shows there is serious camp/"cabal" in city squad.
