Computers / How To Extract Good Files From Damaged .ZIP Package by L0rdTeekay(m): 12:17pm On Aug 12, 2015 |
Many time you can get into a situation that you downloaded a .ZIP file and due to some reason that package for corrupted and now you are stranded in the middle of using a lot of bandwidth to download that big package and still not able to to open it up, well now in that the solution you might be thinking of is to re download the file hence making use a lot of bandwidth, but in many cases there are few files that are necessary inside that package and hopefully those good be in good shape. You know what I mean, I mean that those good undamaged files could be extracted from the package hence using them the way you wanted to. Obviously all files wont be able to recover but still maximum recovery could be done using the ZIP2FIX tool, that claims to extract undamaged files from .ZIP and SFX .ZIP package. ZIP2FIX comes in two different modes, fully installable mode and portable mode, you can utilize the portable version while on the move by keeping the file inside your USB Drive, so lets download the tool and see how it actually works. 1. Download ZIP2FIX Tool for Windows . 2. Now after you have downloaded, the interface is quiet simple, simply you will get the Open Menu option that you can use, to open up your .ZIP and SFX .ZIP packages, so click on that. 3. It will soon start to analyze your file and show you results on which files are damaged and which all files could be recovered. 4. That's it now you can recover all those undamaged files and enjoy using them, this tool will extract all those files to another .ZIP package that you can open up normally. So guy this ends another tutorial, hope you liked it and I hope this will be beneficial for you in extracting good files from your damaged .ZIP package. 1 Like |
Computers / How To Enable The GOD Mode Feature On Windows 10 by L0rdTeekay(m): 10:45pm On Aug 11, 2015 |
GOD Mode feature in windows enables all the commands and settings at one place, from there you can manage pretty much anything, its like setting your windows edge to edge without using any 3rd party software. You might find it little bit cluttered from the settings its presents, but it contains pretty much everything. So now this mode was even available in other windows variant, but if you have recently upgraded to windows 10 then we will show you how to enable or activate GOD mode in windows 10. So to activate this feature its pretty simple, just follow below steps. 1. On your desktop create a New Folder. 2. You can do that by right clicking and choosing New > Folder. 3. Now you can name that folder as below. G o d M o d e . { E D 7 B A 4 7 0 - 8 E 5 4 - 4 6 5 E - 8 2 5 C - 9 9 7 1 2 0 4 3 E 0 1 C } 4. That’s it now as soon as you will save this folder name, your folder icon will get changed. So now you just double click on this folder and see for yourself all the settings you can change and all the stuff you can do using this mode. Play safe and modify your windows according to your will. Have fun and I will meet you with another amazing tutorial soon.

Computers / A DNA Hard Drive Has Been Built That Can Store Data For 1 MILLION Years. by L0rdTeekay(m): 8:30pm On Aug 05, 2015 |
Scientists have found a way to preserve the world's data for millions of years, by storing it on a tiny strand of DNA preserved in glass. When you think of humanity’s legacy, the most powerful message for us to leave behind for future civilisations would surely be our billions of terabytes of data. But right now the hard drives and discs that we use to store all this information are frustratingly vulnerable, and unlikely to survive more than a couple of hundred years. Fortunately scientists have built a DNA time capsule that's capable of safely preserving all of our data for more than a million years. And we’re kind of freaking out over how huge the implications are. Researchers already knew that DNA was ideal for data storage. In theory, just 1 gram of DNA is capable of holding 455 exabytes, which is the equivalent of one billion gigabytes, and more than enough space to store all of Google, Facebook and pretty much everyone else's data. Storing information on DNA is also surprisingly simple - researchers just need to program the A and C base pairs of DNA as a binary '0', and the T and G as a '1'. But the researchers, led by Robert Grass from ETH Zürich in Switzerland, wanted to find out just how long this data would last. DNA can definitely be durable - in 2013 scientists managed to sequence genetic code from 700,000-year-old horse bones - but it has to be preserved in pretty specific conditions, otherwise it can change and break down as it's exposed to the environment. So Glass's team decided to try to replicate a fossil, to see if it would help them create a long-lasting DNA hard drive. "Similar to these bones, we wanted to protect the information-bearing DNA with a synthetic 'fossil' shell," explained Grass in a press release. In order to do that, the team encoded Switzerland’s Federal Charter of 1921 and The Methods of Mechanical Theorems by Archimedes onto a DNA strand - a total of 83 kilobytes of data. They then encapsulated the DNA into tiny glass spheres, which were around 150 nanometres in diameter. The researchers compared these glass spheres against other packaging methods by exposing them to temperatures of between 60 and 70 degrees Celsius - conditions that replicated the chemical degradation that would usually occur over hundreds of years, all crammed into a few destructive weeks. They found that even after this sped-up degradation process, the DNA inside the glass spheres could easily be extracted using a fluoride solution, and the data on it could still be read. In fact, these glass casings seem to work much like fossilised bones. Based on their results, which have been published in Angewandte Chemie , the team predicts that data stored on DNA could survive over a million years if it was stored in temperatures below -18 degrees Celsius, for example, in a facility like the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, which is also known as the ‘Doomsday Vault’. They say it could last 2,000 years if stored somewhere less secure at 10 degrees Celsius - a similar average temperature to central Europe. The tricky part of this whole process is that the data stored in DNA needs to be read properly in order for future civilisations to be able to access it. And despite advances in sequencing technology, errors still arise from DNA sequencing. The team overcame this by embedding a method for correcting any errors within the glass spheres, based on the Reed-Solomon Codes, which help researchers transmit data over long distances. Basically, additional information is attached to the actual data, to help people read it on the other end. This worked so well that even after the test DNA had been kept in scorching and degrading conditions for a month, the team could still read Switzerland’s Federal Charter and Archimedes’ wise words at the end of the study. The other major problem, which is not so easy to overcome, is the fact that storing information on DNA is still extremely expensive - it cost around US$1,500 just to encode the 83 kilobytes of data used in this study. Hopefully this cost will go down as we get better at writing information onto DNA. Rsearchers out there are already storing books onto DNA, and the band OK Go are also writing their new album into genetic information. The question is, what would Grass store, now that he’s developed this mind-blowing time capsule? The documents in Unesco’s Memory of the World Programme, and… Wikipedia, he says. “Many entries are described in detail, others less so. This probably provides a good overview of what our society knows, what occupies it and to what extent,” said Grass in the release. It’s ridiculously cool to think that even if we do wipe ourselves off the face of the Earth, our civilisation might still live on for millennia to come in the form of Wikipedia pages and Facebook updates. We really are (almost) infinite. |

Computers / A Psychologist Thinks It'll Be Normal To Have Sex With Robots By 2070. by L0rdTeekay(m): 6:26pm On Aug 05, 2015 |
In the next half of this century, humans will be regularly engaging in sexual activity with robots, and maybe even falling in love with them, according to Helen Driscoll, a psychologist who specialises in sex and mate choices at the University of Sunderland in the UK. Her comments came while discussing the technological advances that are making sex dolls more interactive than ever before, and they present a future eerily similar to that of the Joaquin Phoenix film Her, where the main character falls in love with an operating system on his computer (voiced by Scarlett Johansson no less, who could blame him?) "As virtual reality becomes more realistic and immersive and is able to mimic and even improve on the experience of sex with a human partner; it is conceivable that some will choose this in preference to sex with a less than perfect human being," Driscoll told David Watkinson from the Daily Mirror. And while that may sound kinda out there, it's already happening. Porn companies are beginning to splurge on making virtual reality porn, which is filmed from the actor's point of view and allows viewers to use a virtual reality headset, such as Google cardboard or an Oculus Rift, to explore and look around the movie, making them feel as though they're really there. "You can enjoy a totally new perception of adult content, more immersive and deep ... and it gets closer to a real experience," Linda Wells, who works with company VirtualRealPorn, told News.com.au. VirtualRealPorn is also taking things to the next level by partnering with intimacy gadget company Lovsense. The idea is that someone will be able to get 'intimate' with one of these intimacy gadgets (vibrators for women, Fleshlight-type toys for men) and it'll be programmed to activate in response to the virtual reality porn they're watching - basically simulating sex. And although that might sound incredibly creepy to you right now, Driscoll believes that the onslaught of technology over the coming decades will make the behaviour increasingly mainstream. "We tend to think about issues such as virtual reality and robotic sex within the context of current norms," she told Watkinson. "But if we think back to the social norms about sex that existed just 100 years ago, it is obvious that they have changed rapidly and radically." In fact, she thinks it's not that much of a stretch from many of today's online relationships, which are often conducted without the couple meeting face to face. "We should not automatically assume that virtual relationships have less value than real relationships. The fact is, people already fall in love with fictional characters though there is no chance to meet and interact with them," Driscoll explained. "And, as some people start to prefer technologically enhanced virtual sex to sex with humans, we may also see greater numbers of people living alone, spending more time in virtual reality." That lack of human contact could be harmful for a lot of people, with loneliness linked to a whole range of physical and emotional problems. "But, in the long term, technology may overcome these problems," said Driscoll, referring to robots that look, feel, and act more like humans. If there's one thing we humans are good at, it's coming up with clever new ways to get off, so we can't say we're too shocked by Driscoll's predictions. But while you're waiting for society to get on board with your AI love affair, enjoy watching these people try virtual reality porn for the first time. The future looks... bright?
