I flew emirates to Kansas City from Lagos just few days ago...The cabin crew was awesome and we had just few turbulence. My only challenge was the flight from Dubai to Seattle which was a 14hrs non stop flight...It drained me but It was all good. POE experience was smooth too, although one of my baggages was checked due to my food declaration and my whole egusi seed was thrashed. Other than that it was and awesome experience. Songitto: Hi everyone, Please is anybody just flew with Emirate airline; however, i want to know if anyone here have any experience about this airline as a student; thanks and God bless you |

Congrats... anodebeanthony: I was denied Visa on 26th July being Tuesday at Abuja
And
My Visa was approved On Tuesday being 1st August at Lagos
After the first denial in Abuja, that day I left the embassy with broken heart, I went straight to my hotel room picked my bag and took a cab to GTBank and paid for another visa fee before leaving Abuja. It was a journey filled with tears in my heart and my heart bled all through; I was so weak but I didn't show any sign of weakness. My people were so sad..... Long story......
LAGOS I got to Lagos on 31st July and I stayed in a friend's house. And I didn't tell my people that I paid for another visa fee and they didn't know I was in Lagos. I booked Uber that picked me 4:30 on the morning of 1st August. My interview was 7:15am but I got to embassy around 5:11am and had to wait for the verification to start... Fast forward to the interview line. I was directed to the guy at window 9 (I can't vividly remember) he denied 2 people before me; but those guys bleeped up, am sure they were not prepared at all.
The VO was with one black lady inside.
VO: Good morning Me: Good morning (with big confident)
Vo: Tell me where you are going? And why you chose the place?
Me: I'm going to St Cloud State University in Minnesota for Bachelor's Degree in Computer science. I chose the school because they offered me a scholarship that waived part of my tuition and they have an exceptional program which integrates in-class learning with professional and practical learning. Their curriculum is structured in a way students can chose area of specialization like cyber security or software engineering which is what I want to professionalize in. (the lady with the VO interviewing was nodding)
Vo: Cyber security? Me: I don't know what came over me I laughed and said software engineering and he laughed too.
(Honestly, I don't feel like it's an interview, I felt it's a conversation, I was so free and smiling all through with cool eye contact)
Vo: Tell me about the schools you applied?
Me: I applied to West Liberty University, West Virginia State University, University of the District of Columbia and Morgan State University but I chose St Cloud State University because of their well structured curriculum.
Vo: When did you finish high school?
Me: 2011, "he wanted to ask another question but I was faster than him so I ride on with" After I finish my high school I got admission to do two year National Diploma in Office Technology and Management which I finished in 2014, 2015 I didn't a one year compulsory internship and in 2016 I enrolled in a computer education centre which I did program on Web design using content management system, graphic design, digital marketing and search engine optimization. He cut me
Vo: What is the name of the place you did the program?
Me: I told him
Vo: What do you do now?
Me: Am currently doing an unpaid internship where I tutor high school graduates voluntary on WordPress development and search engine optimization.
VO: What is search engine optimization?
Me: (before he finished pronouncing the optimization) I don dey define the thing like whose lose brake. He was impressed same with the lady because they turn off the mic for me not to hear what they were saying and they were smiling and talking. He turned on the mic and
Vo: Your sponsor is your uncle?
Me: yes
Vo: What does he do?
Me: He is into importation of fabrics and textiles, he also has a farmer. He is into animal husbandry; 'piggery'.
He started typing what I don't know and he was so serious typing it and I started praying on my mind. After typing for like close to 1 min he put hand at the white paper and said I will be approving your visa and he gave me the white paper through that hole I didn't wait for him to finish the rest I zoomed off with a big smile on my face.
All thanks to God and the creator of this forum and to those contributing and sharing transcripts.
@tunnyz7 @teedawg @oludare01@texrem @zealotre @walspring Thanks guys
My Advice to future applicants: Be truthful and fill your DS160 yourself and know about your course. And also be bold and confident because that's the key. |

Ideally, it should be ready 2-3 working days counting from the next day of your interview. Also, you can track the status of your passport on your visa appointment homepage. You should also get an email and a text message from ustraveldocs once the passport is ready for pick up. mojohnny: Hi guys. Please for someone who did interview and got white paper on Thursday when can they expect their visa to be ready? Thanks |

Visa Approved on the 20th of July, 2017 at Lagos Consulate.
VO: Good morning and pass me your passport and i-20.
Me: Good morning and I obliged.
VO: Types for some seconds and then asks what are you going to do in the US
Me: I am going for my Masters of science in Chemistry program
VO: What was your undergraduate course in
Me: Biochemistry
VO: Okay, so tell me why you chose to study Chemistry for your masters program]
Me: At this point I started stammering because I didn't expect this question but I kept calm, cleared my throat and then said; I currently work with a bottling company which produces milk flavored drinks as a quality assurance personnel and Intend coming back to apply for a senior post at my current place of work and hopefully establish my own bottling company at the long run, thus going for my master in Chemistry will prepare me adequately for this.
VO: Nods and says ok, then asked how many schools I applied to.
Me: Three other schools which are UNM, UT In Dallas, Uni of central Missouri and MSWU.
VO: How many admits
Me: Two and I named them.
VO: Why did you choose this school
Me: I chose this school because their MAS-Chemistry program is a recognized Professional Masters program which combines advanced training in chemistry with other courses in business, economics, decision making and communication which is what I need to achieve my future ambitions when I am back in Nigeria.
VO: How will this course help your career
Me: It will help refine my technical and professional skills which I need in...(VO cuts in)
VO: Where did you say you work again
Me: I mentioned
VO: Whats your post and your duties
Me: I am a quality assurance personnel and my duties are.....mentioned all the way I stated it in my DS form( At this point I started doubting if he was gonna approve my visa because I stuttered a bit but got a hold of myself again)
VO: Nods and asked how the tuition fee would be paid
Me: My mum would be paying and she is a building contractor, sells building and electrical materials to both public and private companies and she owns chains of stores across 5 states
VO: How many stores does she have
Me: 20
VO: I would be approving your visa sir,...( I just went blank and didn't hear what he was saying, all I know was he circled one address on the white paper and passed it to me)
Me: Thank you sir and I stepped out.
I was delighted to the extent that I took the wrong way out of the embassy, had to take a bike at Ozumba Mbadiwe road back to the main entrance where I parked my car.
Special thanks to texrem, walspring and the other gurus out here. Texrem created time where there was none even though I wasn't keeping to time whenever we fix one for a mock interview. We only did one last night and honestly I thought I wasn't prepared enough but he told me I did well and would do well. So I kept calm was optimistic.
No document was asked. |

Even the school I got admitted to advices someone to have a mock interview. Check the attachment below. TWoods: I beg to differ for the following reasons:
1. F1 student visa interviews did not start last week. They've been in existence long before some of us were born... ergo a mock interview is no guarantee of visa success.
2. There is no reliable statistics to indicate that success level significantly increases with a mock interview.
3. A mock interview is not needed if you're truthful and a bonafide student. The questions asked simply pertain to your selected school, major and career plans. You only need a mock for prepared (usually false) answers.
4. VOs are highly trained to spot canned answers.
Bottom line, there is zero benefit to mock interviews.

Hello house,
I am been reading this thread closely and I have learned a lot in this process. I got admission into Missouri Western State Uni to study Applied Chemistry for my masters degree program. I did the admission processes myself so I really do not think I should have any issues with the interview but I am still scared and I do not want to Bleep up on that day. I sent messages to Justwise, Walspring and lagosismyhome but they're all yet to reply me. I wrote out the likely questions they ask (thanks to this thread and the previous ones) and I proffered answers to them all but I would need someone to scrutinize it for me so that I can make necessary corrections before the date of my interview.
Your prompt responses would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. |

justwise: That have been given to you already Yes i noticed but i just want to be sure of the chances i have and also i have few more questions as to the documents i want to submit which are as follows: Instead of using my dad's company accounr again I was thinking of using his personal account with a reference letter from him or should i just use the updated company account with a reference letter from the company since he owns it. Additionally i was thinking of using my other account since i pay my salary in myself so it would indicate that i receive monthly payments because I don't have a payslip from work, they pay cash. Thanks in advance. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Labhii: 10:00am On Aug 31, 2015 |
Hello everyone, I'm new here so i really don't know how this works but I'd be brief with my enquiry.
I applied for a 6 months family visitor UK visa last 3 weeks and attached the following documents with my application;
Invitation letter from my brother from the UK His payslips for the past 4 months His tenancy agreement for where he lives A copy of the front page of his German Passport My own statement of account which really doesn't state the inflow of my salary because my employer pays cash My dad's company bank account since he is sponsoring about 60% of my trip
But I got refused and the reasons are stated below;
-No reference letter from my dad stating that he would truly sponsor part of my trip and that he has access to the funds in the company account.
-No documents such as my payslips to show that i got paid by my employer and also my statements doesn't show my employer paying in.
-No reference letter from my employer stating that I am truly employed by them.
-They don't believe i truly have the funds to foot part of my trip to the UK
So i was asked to either provide compelling documents to back up my application and claims or my application would be refused if I reapply.
Please i need help on what documents should be attached when reapplying so that I don't get refused again.
Thanks in advance for your support. |
