Politics / N-power Batch C Tenure Program Based On Catogries by lackren(m): 9:01am On Jun 28, 2020
The Federal Government social investment scheme, N-Power has commenced its application portal for registration of the June 2020 Batch C intakes but the beneficiaries tenure may differ from the Batch A and Batch B.

The N-Power Programme was inaugurated by the President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016 under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) with the mandate of lifting citizens out of poverty through capacity building, investment, and direct support.

The programme has enrolled 500,000 beneficiaries so far with 200,000 from Batch A which started in September 2016 and 300,000 from Batch B which kicked off in August 2018.

The beneficiaries were supposed to spend not less than 24 months on the programme but Batch A beneficiaries have spent over 40 months.

The Special Adviser to the President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, has threatened to sue the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ado Ekiti Local Government chapter over alleged libel and defamation of character.

The chapter accused Ojudu of bribing the APC chairman of his ward with N500,000 in a letter of invitation dated June 25, 2020 titled “your political anti-party activities and the needs to defend yourself”.

The letter further accused him of “propaganda in the media and blackmail against the party and state chairman.”

The executives further alleged the presidential aide thwarted efforts by ward 8 Ado Ekiti to invite him to defend alleged anti-party activities.

They then asked him to appear on July 2 by 12noon to defend himself for also calling for dissolution of party executives at all levels.

The former Lagos State governor and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu has weighed in on the recent crisis that rocked the party, exposing several issues that led to the problem.

Tinubu disclosed that problems had been lingering in the party for months, especially among its leadership.

He criticized the now-dissolved national working committee, NWC of the party adding that order, party discipline and mutual respect had disappeared.

In a statement released on Saturday by Tinubu’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, saying, the party has experienced growing disagreement within the leadership of the party.

He said "I wish to begin my remarks by commending members of the National Working Committee. Under their collective stewardship, the party earned great and important victories, not least the vital second mandate handed to President Buhari.

The elected Governors under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Saturday, June 27, has rubbished claims made by the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, that 10 of its members were set to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bello on Friday, claimed that APC was not on the verge of collapse and Governors elected on other platforms were looking to join the party.
But the PDP Governors under the leadership of Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has described the claims as unfounded.

In a statement on Saturday and signed by its Director-General, C.I.D. Maduabum, the forum said:

The Federal Government social investment scheme, N-Power has opened its application portal for registration of the June 2020 Batch C intakes.

This is according to series of tweets on the N-Power handle which noted that the portal for intending beneficiaries, opened on 26th June 2020.

“Dear Intending N-Power 2020 Applicants, here is how to prepare for the N-Power application,” the N-Power scheme tweeted.

“Remember 1. Portal opens 11.45 pm, June 26th, 2020. 2. Application is FREE. Do NOT pay anyone to apply on the N-Power portal. 3. Get a printout or accurate details of your BVN.”

The former old Ondo State governor, Evangelist Bamidele Ishola Olumilua, is dead after a brief illness.

He was 80 years.

Olumilua is an indigene of Ikere Ekiti, the headquarter of the Ikere Local Government Area of the Ekiti State.

Olumilua, who was the elected Governor of Ondo State from January 1992 to November 1993 during the Nigerian Third Republic.

Also, his eldest son, Muyiwa Olumilua who is currently the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation confirmed the death of his father.

The President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday afternoon, June 1, has announced the relaxation of the restriction placed on places of worship as part of measures to curtail the spread of COVID-19.

COVID-19: Fayemi reviews Ekiti directives, orders workers to resume work; ban Religion activities

Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, on Sunday, June 31, has reviewed the State directives on the COVID-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus, saying the public officers from Grade Level 8 and above are to resume for duty from June 1, 2020.

Fayemi, who broadcast on Sunday evening in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital, said as from June 1, 2020, Ekiti people will be able to go about their daily activities from Monday to Friday, 6 am to 8 pm in the evening.

The governor said the dusk to dawn curfew will daily resume at 8 pm till 5: 59 am of the following morning.

He also existing restrictions on human and vehicular movement would continue to be observed in accordance with existing regulations contained in the Ekiti State Coronavirus Disease (Prevention of Infection), Regulations 2020.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Saturday, May 30, has responded to the claims that his government has sold off the Ekiti State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, saying, the allegation as spurious, alleged that former governor, Ayodele Fayose leased his personal apartment in Abuja to the state and collected N120 million for a period of four years.

Fayemi, also alleged that Fayose illegally sold the official land acquired by the state’s first civilian governor, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo for the building of the state lodge in Abuja.

The National body of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is in confusion over which mode of primaries to adopt for the forthcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had last week Friday, May 15, had announced that all campaigns, party primaries, accreditation of journalists ahead of the September 19 and October 10 governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States will done online to reflect the realities accompanying the Coronavirus pandemic.

In the early hours of Tuesday, tears flow freely when two staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, was electrocuted while working on defective borehole on campus.

Eyewitnesses told journalists in Ado Ekiti the victims were staff of the Department of Works and were said to have died while carrying out statutory function.

One of the deceased, whose identities have not been made known, was a native of Ado Ekiti while the other victim hailed from Kogi State.

The Former Schalke player and Congolese footballer, Hiannick Kamba who was reported dead in a car crash back in 2016 has been found alive and well in Germany.

The 33-year-old was declared dead following a car crash in DR Congo four years ago and now his ex-wife is under investigation after she had claimed insurance.

Kamba reportedly died on January 9, 2016, but German outlet Bild has claimed that the star is alive as he was reportedly seen in the city of Ruhr, Germany, this week where he works as a chemical technician at an energy supplier, Daily Mail reports. READ FULL STORY HERE
